The thermal performance of a chemical heat pump that uses the reaction system of calcium oxide/lead oxide/carbon dioxide, which is developed for utilization of high‐temperature heat above 800°C, is studied experimentally. The thermal performance of a packed‐bed reactor of a calcium oxide/carbon dioxide reaction system, which stores and transforms a high‐temperature heat source in the heat pump operation, is examined under various heat pump operation conditions. The energy analysis based on the experiment shows that it is possible to utilize high‐temperature heat with this heat pump. This heat pump can store heat above 850°C and then transform it into a heat above 900°C under an approximate atmospheric pressure. An applied system that combines the heat pump and a high‐temperature process is proposed for high‐efficiency heat utilization. Heterostructures of strongly correlated oxides demonstrate various intriguing and potentially useful interfacial phenomena. LaMnO3/SrMnO3 superlattices are presented showcasing a new high‐temperature ferromagnetic phase with Curie temperature, TC ≈360 K, caused by electron transfer from the surface of the LaMnO3 donor layer into the neighboring SrMnO3 acceptor layer. As a result, the SrMnO3 (top)/LaMnO3 (bottom) interface shows an enhancement of the magnetization as depth‐profiled by polarized neutron reflectometry. The length scale of charge transfer, λTF ≈2 unit cells, is obtained from in situ growth monitoring by optical ellipsometry, supported by optical simulations, and further confirmed by high resolution electron microscopy and spectroscopy. A model of the inhomogeneous distribution of electron density in LaMnO3/SrMnO3 layers along the growth direction is concluded to account for a complex interplay between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic layers in superlattices. 相似文献

Flexible transparent thin‐film transistors (TTFTs) have emerged as next‐generation transistors because of their applicability in transparent electronic devices. In particular, the major driving force behind solution‐processed zinc oxide film research is its prospective use in printing for electronics. Since the patterning that prevents current leakage and crosstalk noise is essential to fabricate TTFTs, the need for sophisticated patterning methods is critical. In patterning solution‐processed ZnO thin films, several points require careful consideration. In general, as these thin films have a porous structure, conventional patterning based on photolithography causes loss of film performance. In addition, as controlling the drying process is very subtle and cumbersome, it is difficult to fabricate ZnO semiconductor films with robust fidelity through selective printing or patterning. Therefore, we have developed a simple selective patterning method using a substrate pre‐patterned through bond breakage of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), as well as a new developing method using a toluene–methanol mixture as a binary solvent mixture. 相似文献

In this paper, the bis‐condensed 4‐(dicyanomethylene)‐2‐methyl‐6‐[p‐(dimethylamino)styryl]‐4H‐pyran ( DCM) derivatives are introduced as a new class of red dye for organic light‐emitting devices (OLEDs). They showed more red‐shifted emission than the mono‐substituted DCM derivatives and the emission maxima increased as the electron‐donating ability of the aromatic donor group increased. On the basis of these results, red light‐emitting devices were fabricated with bis‐condensed DCM derivatives as red dopants. For a device of configuration ITO/TPD/Alq3 + DADB (5.2 wt.‐%)/Alq3/Al (where ITO is indium tin oxide, TPD is N,N′‐diphenyl‐N,N′‐bis(3‐methylphenyl)‐1,1′‐biphenyl‐4,4′‐diamine, Alq3 is tris(8‐hydroxyquinoline) aluminum, and DADB is [2,6‐bis[2‐[5‐(dibutylamino)phenyl]vinyl]‐4H‐pyran‐4‐ylidene]propanedinitrile), pure red emission was observed with Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE 1931) coordinates of (0.658, 0.337) at 25 mA/cm2. 相似文献

This paper concerns experimental and theoretical studies of freeze-drying process at microwave heating. Two kinds of random solids were dried: material which are assumed to have no internal porosity (ground glass), as well as one containing internal porosity (Sorbonorit 4 activated carbon). Formulated one-dimensional two-region model of freeze-drying process at microwave heating takes into account unknown a priori sublimation temperature Ts(t) and mass concentration of water vapor Cs(t) at moving ice front. Steady capacity of internal heat source is correlated with electric field strength E and dissipation coefficient K(T) in both regions of the material to be dried. Linear temperature dependency of dissipation coefficient is assumed and described by two regression parameters: μ1i and μ2i for dry (i = I) and frozen (i = II) bed, respectively. A correlation between both measured and calculated temperatures of the sample and actual electric field strength was observed. Fairly good agreement between experimental and simulated results was stated. 相似文献

The establishment of a reasonable physical model and an effective solution scheme for the thermal corridor is very important to thermal protection structure design, trajectory selection, aerodynamic configuration optimization design, etc. The concept of a thermal corridor for a hypersonic vehicle was analyzed and a physical model was proposed in this paper. Furthermore, the governing equations and the corresponding algorithm for the thermal corridor were discussed. The envelopes of the height–velocity curves at typical positions of the vehicle X43 were calculated, the characteristics of the thermal corridor were summarized, the effect of the thermal protection material on the thermal corridor was discussed, and the emission coefficient of the thermal protection material was defined. The results indicate that the thermal corridor depends on the emission coefficient of the surface material, the flow conditions, and turbulence transition position. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. An estimation of the monthly wind energy output for the period 1999–2003 at five wind farms in northeastern Spain was evaluated. The methodology involved the calculation of wind speed histograms and the observed average wind power versus wind relation obtained from hourly data. The energy estimation was based on the cumulated contribution of the wind power from each wind speed interval. The impact of the Weibull distribution assumption as a substitute of the actual histogram in the wind energy estimation was evaluated. Results reveal that the use of a Weibull probability distribution has a moderate impact in the energy calculation as the largest estimation errors are, on average, no larger than 10% of the total monthly energy produced. However, the evaluation of the goodness of fit through the χ2 statistics shows that the Weibull assumption is not strictly substantiated for most of the sites. This apparent discrepancy is based on the partial cancellation of the positive and negative departures of the Weibull fitted and the actual wind frequency distributions. Further investigation of the relation between the χ2 and the error contribution exposes a tendency of the Weibull distribution to underestimate (overestimate) the observed histograms in the lower and upper (intermediate) wind speed intervals. This fact, together with the larger wind power weight over the highest winds, results in a systematic total wind energy underestimation. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

The chemical growth of silver nanorings that possess singly twinned crystals and a circular cross section via a reductive reaction solution is reported. The wire and ring diameters of the synthesized nanorings are in the ranges 80–200 nm and 4.5–18.0 μm, respectively. By lighting up the multipolar dark plasmons with slanted illumination, the silver nanoring exhibits unique focused scattering and large local‐field enhancement. We also demonstrate strong exciton–plasmon interactions between a monolayer of CdSe/ZnS semiconductor quantum dots and a single silver antenna‐like nanoring (nanoantenna) at the “hot spots” located at the cross points of the incident plane and nanoring; the position of these spots are tunable by adjusting the incidence angle of illumination. The tunable plasmonic behavior of the silver nanorings could find applications as optical nanoantennae or plasmonic nanocavities. 相似文献

General design of optical chemical nanosensors is needed to develop efficient sensing systems with high flexibility, and low capital cost for control recognition of toxic analytes. Here, we designed optical chemical nanosensors for simple, high‐speed detection of multiple toxic metal ions. The systematic design of the nanosensors was based on densely patterned chromophores with intrinsic mobility, namely, “building‐blocks” onto three‐dimensional (3D) nanoscale structures. The ability to precisely modify the nanoscale pore surfaces by using a broad range of chromophores that have different molecular sizes and characteristics enables detection of multiple toxic ions. A key feature of this building‐blocks design strategy is that the surface functionality and good adsorption characteristics of the fabricated nanosensor arrays enabled the development of “pool‐on‐surface” sensing systems in which high flux of the metal analytes across the probe molecules was achieved without significant kinetic hindrance. Such a sensing design enabled sensitive recognition of metal ions up to sub‐picomolar detection limits (~10?11 mol dm?3), for first time, with rapid response time within few seconds. Moreover, because these sensing pools exhibited long‐term stability, reversibility and selectivity in detecting most pollutant cations, for example, Cr(VI), Pb(II), Co(II), and Pd(II) ions, they are practical and inexpensive. The key result in our study is that the pool‐on‐surface design for optical nanosensors exhibited significant ion‐selective ability of these target ions from environmental samples and waste disposals. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a fast‐convergent fairness scheme in IEEE 802.17 resilient packet ring (RPR) networks. In the proposed scheme, each station could rapidly approach fair rate by estimating the number of unbounded flows at each link. In addition, the fast‐convergent scheme could prevent rate oscillations in the RPR aggressive mode scheme under unbalanced traffic. The estimation mechanism is simple and scalable since it is stateless without per‐flow management. Through analytical and simulation evaluations our scheme was found to be stable and speedy when compared with 802.17 RPR fairness scheme or the proposed distributed virtual‐time scheduling in rings scheme. Our scheme could allocate bandwidth fairly and smoothly among flows and achieve high utilization at the same time in the RPR network. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
