This paper discusses high-speed impact damage in a three-dimensionally woven SiC/SiC composite (3D-CMC). The impact damage was introduced by a steel ball projectile in 3D-CMC plates with and without thermal exposure. The surface and internal damages were observed by optical microscopy and X-ray CT. A crater was observed on the collision surface. The X-ray CT measurement revealed that multiple pyramid-shaped cone cracks were generated beneath the crater when the impact speed was relatively low. At an impact speed exceeding the critical speed, a spall fragment was ejected from the back surface, while no internal damage was observed in the fragment. The spall fracture mode differed between the virgin and the thermally-exposed specimens. This difference is the result of embrittlement of the fiber/matrix interface due to oxidation of the carbon coating layer in the thermally-exposed specimen. In addition, it is found that z-yarns improve impact resistance by constraining delamination.  相似文献

An in situ diffuse reflectance FT-IR technique was employed to investigate the active surface species and the reaction mechanism of the oxygenate formation in the vapor phase hydroformylation of ethene on Co/SiO2 promoted with various noble metals such as Ir, Rh, Pt, Re, Ru, and Pd. Co(A)/SiO2 and Ir(CO)/SiO2 which were derived from cobalt(II) acetate and Ir4(CO)12, respectively, were quite inactive in the reaction, and showed only quite small peaks of adsorbed CO under the conditions of 1.1 MPa of C2H4/CO/H2 at 298 K. In contrast, Co(A)-Ir(CO)/SiO2, which were very active in the reaction, exhibited strong absorption bands of linear and bridged CO species. At 423–463 K, propanal adsorbed on the catalyst and acyl species which is suggested as the intermediate for the formation of propanal were also observed on this catalyst. By exposing CO preadsorbed on this catalyst to C2H4/H2 at 289 K and 0.1 MPa, the intensity of the linear CO band decreased, and the bands of propanal and acyl species emerged simultaneously, whereas that of the bridged CO band remained constant after the initial drop. These results suggested that the oxygenates are formed via the CO insertion into adsorbed ethyl species, and linear CO species plays a major role in the CO insertion on these noble metal-promoted cobalt catalysts.  相似文献

We describe two infants in whom rhombencephalosynapsis was diagnosed with MR imaging in vivo. In contrast to Dandy-Walker malformation, the vermian maldevelopment in this anomaly is characterized by an absence of the anterior vermis and a deficiency of the posterior vermis. The cerebellar hemispheres are fused. In an attempt to identify the pathogenesis of these anatomic manifestations, we question the traditional concept of the embryologic development of the cerebellar primordium.  相似文献

The crystal structure of the complex between rat-prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) and L-(+)-tartrate (Lindqvist et al., J. Biol. Chem., 1993, 268, 20744-20746) contains the model of the ligand with incorrect chirality. This study examined the processing and mechanical properties of cross-ply and quasi-isotropic composite laminates processed using aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube/epoxy prepreg sheets. Three kinds of CNT/epoxy laminates, ([0°/90°]s, [60°/0°/?60°]s, [0°/45°/90°/?45°]s) were successfully fabricated using aligned CNT/epoxy prepreg sheets. The CNT volume fraction was approximately 10%. No visible void or delamination was observed in composite laminates, and the thickness of each layer was almost equal to that of the prepreg. To evaluate the elastic moduli, E11, E22, and G12, of each ply in the laminates, on-axis and off-axis tensile tests (0°, 45°, 90°) were conducted of aligned CNT/epoxy lamina specimens. The Young’s modulus of CNT/epoxy cross-ply and quasi-isotropic laminates agreed with the theoretical values, which were calculated using classical laminate theory and elastic moduli of CNT/epoxy lamina. The respective failure strains of [0°/90°]s, [60°/0°/?60°]s, and [0°/45°/90°/?45°]s laminates are 0.65, 0.92, 0.63%, which are higher than that of 0° composite lamina (0.5%). Results suggest that the failure strain of 0° layer in composite laminates is improved because of the other layers.  相似文献

To reduce the loss due to ripple current in a multiphase current‐reversible chopper, we investigated electromagnetic coupling of an air‐core reactor. We derived the relationship between the amplitude of the ripple current, the duty factor, and the electromagnetic coupling coefficient, and used the results to estimate the effects of electromagnetic coupling in the design of a train energy storage system. We built reactors with electromagnetic coupling coefficients of 0.93 and 0.60. These reactors employed a new winding structure that provides an optimal electromagnetic coupling coefficient. The mass of the former type of reactor was increased by 4.4% over the conventional design, and that of the latter type of reactor was decreased by 17%. Finally, we tested the new reactors. When the chopper employs the former type of reactor and operates with equal‐phase switching and cumulative coupling, the loss due to ripple current is decreased by 11%. When the chopper employs the latter type of reactor and operates with shift‐phase switching and differential coupling, the loss is decreased to 31%. The test showed that the calculated relationships agreed with the measured values.  相似文献

Polystyrene-b-poly(methyl acrylate) (PS-b-PMA) block copolymer with PS volume fraction of 25.2 vol% was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization. Non-pretreated silicon wafers were used as the substrates to prepare perpendicular oriented PS cylinders in PMA matrix via solvent annealing which could induce the transformation of spheres to vertically oriented and hexagonally packed cylinders. The spherical microdomains were formed after the evaporation of solvents from the solutions of the block copolymer in selective solvents mixed from methanol, acetone and dichloromethane. The thickness of films could be as thick as 1000 nm, which were much thicker than usual cases and the cylinders came from the directional coalescence of the spheres, thus any pre-treatments of the substrates were not required for perpendicular orientation. The structures were characterized by small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), transmission electron microscope (TEM), atom force microscopy (AFM) and grazing incidence small angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS).  相似文献

Uniaxial tensile tests of unidirectional carbon-epoxy coupons are conducted in the longitudinal direction. It is observed that the longitudinal modulus increases with axial stress or strain up to the intermediate level of tension. A fractional constitutive relation with a quadratic denominator is derived by the method of the theory of non-linear elasticity. This equation adopting the estimated higher-order compliance coefficients exhibits an excellent agreement with the experimental results. An empirical strain-based equation is also proposed as a simpler alternative. Averaging formulae for both types of relation are provided for a practical application. The present phenomenon includes the behaviour in a low-stress region discovered by some early work. The consideration of the present non-linear behaviour improves the correlation between theory and experiments in stress-strain relationships of fabric composites with carbon fibres.  相似文献
