Low-Ag-based Pb-free solder and its evaluation for electromigration (EM) reliability are research areas of active development. This paper studies the effect of adding Ni and Ge microelements on the EM behavior of low-Ag-based SnAgCu solder. Comparative measurements of the EM resistance of Sn1.0Ag0.5Cu (SAC) and Sn1.0Ag0.5Cu0.07Ni0.01Ge (SACNG) solders (in wt?%) were conducted. In these experiments, SACNG showed a higher EM resistance than SAC. It was concluded that adding Ni and Ge enhanced the EM resistance of low-Ag-based SnAgCu solders. This shows the same effect of Ni and Ge on the EM resistance as that which has been reported for Sn3.5Ag0.5Cu solder. An analysis of these observations suggests that grain boundary sliding plays a dominant role in stress relaxation and causes hillock growth. Based on this assumption, a possible mechanism was proposed to explain the effects of Ni and Ge on the EM resistance of SnAgCu solder. 相似文献

Degradation by Sn diffusion applied to surface mounting with Ag-epoxy conductive adhesive with joining pressure 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Shear and tensile tests were carried out on joints made with an isotropic conductive adhesive (ICA) consisting of Ag and epoxy: Sn–Pb plated components mounted on printed boards and tensile bars consisting of Sn plated Ni and Cu joined under various joining pressures. After 150 °C–100 h, shear strength degraded to 72% and Sn in the plating diffused slightly to the Ag fillers in the ICA for the component mounting. High joining pressure increased the initial tensile strength and volume percentage of Ag fillers in the ICA. After 150 °C–100 h, tensile strengths for all joining pressures degraded on average to 36% of the initial strengths. In the case of low joining pressures, an Ag–Sn intermetallic was formed at only the Ag–Sn contact points of the Sn/ICA interface; leading to reproducibility of the component mounting. The difference of degradation ratios between the mounted components and tensile bars could be explained by the offset of the Sn–Pb area at the component/ICA interface. 相似文献

Viewing a distorted face induces large aftereffects in the appearance of an undistorted face. The authors examined the processes underlying this adaptation by comparing how selective the aftereffects are for different dimensions of the images including size, spatial frequency content, contrast, and color. Face aftereffects had weaker selectivity for changes in the size, contrast, or color of the images and stronger selectivity for changes in contrast polarity or spatial frequency. This pattern could arise if the adaptation is contingent on the perceived similarity of the stimuli as faces. Consistent with this, changing contrast polarity or spatial frequency had larger effects on the perceived identity of a face, and aftereffects were also selective for different individual faces. These results suggest that part of the sensitivity changes underlying the adaptation may arise at visual levels closely associated with the representation of faces. We demonstrate stable simultaneous lasing of up to 29 wavelengths in miniature 1- and 2-mm-long Er3+:Yb3+ fiber Fabry-Perot lasers. The wavelengths are separated by 0.8 (100 GHz) and 0.4 nm (50 GHz), respectively, corresponding to the free spectral range of the laser cavity. The number of lasing wavelengths and the power stability of the individual modes are greatly enhanced by cooling the laser in liquid nitrogen (77 K). The polarization modes and linewidth of each wavelength are measured with high resolution by heterodyning with a local oscillator. The homogeneous linewidth of the Er3+:Yb 3+ fiber at 77 K is determined to be ~0.5 nm, from spectral-hole-burning measurements, which accounts for the generation of a stable multiwavelength lasing comb with wavelength separations of 0.4 nm 相似文献

A distributed system is said to be self-stabilizing if it will eventually reach a legitimate system state regardless of its initial state. Because of this property, a self-stabilizing system is extremely robust against failures; it tolerates any finite number of transient failures. The ring orientation problem for a ring is the problem of all the processors agreeing on a common ring direction. This paper focuses on the problem of designing a deterministic self-stabilizing ring orientation system with a small number of processor states under the distributed daemon. Because of the impossibility of symmetry breaking, under the distributed daemon, no such systems exist when the number n of processors is even. Provided that n is odd, the best known upper bound on the number of states is 256 in the link-register model, and eight in the state-reading model. NO reduction experiment was performed by injecting ammonia radicals, which were externally generated by flowing the NH3 gas diluted with Ar gas through a dielectric barrier discharge with a one-cycle sinusoidal-wave power source. The discharge was intermittently formed between coaxial cylindrical electrodes with a space of 1.5 mm at an applied peak-to-peak voltage of 3-25 kV. The generated radicals were injected into simulation gas (NO/O2/N2). The simulation gas contained 0-5.6% O2, and the effect of O2 on NOx removal was discussed. The minimum reaction temperature for NO reduction was low when simulation gas contained O2. High O2 concentration (O2=5.6%) in simulation gas, high repetition rate to NH3, and high applied power to NH3 decreased NO removal efficiency. 相似文献

This paper describes the feasibility of 1,400 m steel cable-stayed bridges from both structural and economic viewpoints. Because the weight of a steel girder strongly affects the total cost of the bridge, the writers present a procedure to obtain a minimum weight for a girder that ensures safety against static and dynamic instabilities. For static instability, elastoplastic, finite-displacement analysis under in-plane load and elastic, finite-displacement analysis under displacement-dependent wind load are conducted; for dynamic instability, multimodal flutter analysis is carried out. It is shown that static critical wind velocity of lateral torsional buckling governs the dimension of the girder. Treatment of storm-water runoff may be necessary before discharge to surface waters. In urban areas, space constraints limit selection of conventional treatment systems, and alternative systems are needed. This research program involves design and laboratory testing of a small footprint nonproprietary detention basin which consists of pipes and box culvert sections with a specialized inlet and outlet system. This system can be placed below grade near the roadway section as part of the conventional drainage system and does not require additional right-of-way. A mathematical model, based entirely on hydraulic principles, is developed to estimate particle removal efficiency of the rectangular detention basin for the treatment of storm-water runoff by extending ideal horizontal tank theory under the condition in which water level is varied. A physical model was built in 1/5 scale to measure particle removal performance and validates the conceptual model. Experiments were performed for steady inflow conditions with different inflow rates, durations, and suspended sediment concentrations. Measured time series outflow suspended sediment concentrations and particle removal efficiency compare well with calculated results from the conceptual model. The practical difficulty of parenteral application of fish vaccines against devastating fish diseases diverted the interest toward oral vaccination. Search for effective methods to enhance the oral uptake of viral and bacterial vaccines is continuing. The current research focus on a new role of mucosal fish vaccine adjuvants inducing the antigen uptake by enhancing vascularity or increasing intestinal permeability. Some inflammatory substances cause reversible pathology to the intestinal epithelium, which could be employed for the transepithelial passage of vaccine particles. The natural inflammatory substances used were capsaicin, piperine, and okadaic acid as 1 mg, 2 mg, and 1 μg/fish, respectively. Two inactivated vaccines were used as antigens to test the effect of these inflammatory substances in two different fish hosts. Tested vaccines were inactivated redspotted grouper nervous necrosis virus vaccine in sevenband grouper (Epinephelus septemfasciatus) and inactivated Edwardsiella tarda vaccine in red sea bream (Pagrus major) fish models. The inflammatory substances and each vaccine were anally intubated to fish. Capsaicin proved to be effectively aiding the transepithelial passage of vaccine particles more than piperine, while okadaic acid had no detectable effect. 相似文献
