This work presents a dominant point detector. The angles of the contour are characterized through local entropy produced by a rotationally symmetric smoothing. The proposed scheme uses a punctual multi-scale approach in which only the candidates are analyzed in higher scales. To preserve the angle-entropy relationship in higher scales, we propose a smoothing kernel which presents special features that ensure its steepness in every scale. It is built from the sum of two Gaussians with different openings resembling center-surround receptive fields. The outputs of the proposed method are confronted to a ground-truth found in the literature, and to popular boundary based corner detectors that used the same set of images. The influence of electrode potential on pentachlorophenol (PCP) oxidation on boron doped diamond (BDD) electrodes in a 0.1 mol L–1 Britton–Robinson buffer (pH 5.5) is described. Controlled potential electrolyses were carried at 0.9, 2.0 and 3.0 V vs Ag/AgCl and the solutions analysed by square wave voltammetry, high performance liquid chromatography, chloride ion selective electrode and spectroscopy in the ultraviolet–visible region. At low positive potential (0.9 V), the formation of an adherent film on the electrode surface involving the transference of 1 electron per PCP molecule was observed. The film was identified as the dimer 2,3,4,5,6-pentachloro-4-pentachlorophenoxy-2,5-cyclohexadienone and the current efficiency was as high as 90%. At potentials close to the onset of O2 evolution (2.0 V), the formation of the corresponding quinone (p-tetrachlorobenzoquinone) was detected at the beginning of the process. This was followed by further oxidation to the hydroxy-benzoquinone with a practically quantitative yield. Electrolyses carried out well into the region of oxygen evolution (3.0 V) lead to the electrochemical combustion of PCP to CO2 and H2O as well as to the release into solution of 5 Cl– ions per PCP molecule destroyed. 相似文献

In some animals, such as mice and guinea pigs, a hormonally controlled mechanism increases the flexibility of the pubic symphysis and enhances the cervical remodeling necessary for safe delivery. Cervical ripening during pregnancy is associated with a paradoxical influx of leukocytes. However, the changes in cell metabolism during relaxation of the mouse pubic symphysis for delivery have not been extensively studied. In this work, we used light microscopy and transmission and scanning electron microcopy, as well as immunohistochemistry and Western blotting for MMP-8, to investigate the involvement of granulocytes or resident stromal cells in the relaxation of the virgin pubic symphysis during late pregnancy (days 18 and 19, before delivery) in vivo and in explanted joints. MMP-8 was studied because this collagenase is a hallmark for cervical ripening associated with the influx of granulocytes during late pregnancy. Extensive dissolution and disorganization of the extracellular matrix was seen around fibroblastic-like cells in late pregnancy. In contrast to the cervix (positive control), morphological and immunohistochemical analyses revealed that there was no characteristic cellular inflammatory response in the interpubic tissue. Staining for MMP-8 was observed in chondroid and fibroblastic-like cells of virgin and relaxed interpubic ligament, respectively. However, no granulocytes were seen during the extensive remodeling of the pubic joint in late pregnancy. These results indicate that constitutive stromal cells may have an important role in tissue relaxation during remodeling of the pubic symphysis in pregnancy. 相似文献

The investigation of possible failures in composite materials is a matter of very great importance, and the Tsai-Wu criterion is an effective criterion for analyzing those flaws in anisotropic materials and defining whether the material at a given load will or will not suffer structural failure. In this study, an optimization procedure is proposed to minimize the maximum value of Tsai-Wu of laminated composite tubes subject to axial loading. Artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms are chosen as optimization tools. The results of this study show that the developed algorithm converges faster. Then, the maximum Tsai-Wu value is used as the objective function and the fiber orientations are the constraints in the optimization process. The results yielded by them are compared and discussed. Optimal results are compared with respect to the usual initial design. The design approach is recommended for structures where composites are the key load-carrying members such as orthopedic prosthesis. 相似文献

This article proposes an optimization–simulation model for planning the transport of supplies to large public infrastructure
works located in congested urban areas. The purpose is to minimize their impact on the environment and on private transportation
users on the local road network. To achieve this goal, the authors propose and solve an optimization problem for minimizing
the total system cost made up of operating costs for various alternatives for taking supplies to the worksite and the costs
supported by private vehicle users as a result of increased congestion due to the movement of heavy goods vehicles transporting
material to the worksite. The proposed optimization problem is a bi-level Math Program model. The upper level defines the
total cost of the system, which is minimized taking into account environmental constraints on atmospheric and noise pollution.
The lower level defines the optimization problem representing the private transportation user behavior, assuming they choose
the route that minimizes their total individual journey costs. Given the special characteristics of the problem, a heuristic
algorithm is proposed for finding optimum solutions. Both the model developed and the specific solution algorithm are applied
to the real case of building a new port at Laredo (Northern Spain). A series of interesting conclusions are obtained from

Searching in a dataset for elements that are similar to a given query element is a core problem in applications that manage complex data, and has been aided by metric access methods (MAMs). A growing number of applications require indices that must be built faster and repeatedly, also providing faster response for similarity queries. The increase in the main memory capacity and its lowering costs also motivate using memory-based MAMs. In this paper, we propose the Onion-tree, a new and robust dynamic memory-based MAM that slices the metric space into disjoint subspaces to provide quick indexing of complex data. It introduces three major characteristics: (i) a partitioning method that controls the number of disjoint subspaces generated at each node; (ii) a replacement technique that can change the leaf node pivots in insertion operations; and (iii) range and k-NN extended query algorithms to support the new partitioning method, including a new visit order of the subspaces in k-NN queries. Performance tests with both real-world and synthetic datasets showed that the Onion-tree is very compact. Comparisons of the Onion-tree with the MM-tree and a memory-based version of the Slim-tree showed that the Onion-tree was always faster to build the index. The experiments also showed that the Onion-tree significantly improved range and k-NN query processing performance and was the most efficient MAM, followed by the MM-tree, which in turn outperformed the Slim-tree in almost all the tests. 相似文献

This paper presents the numerical solution, by the Galerkin and Least Squares Finite Element Methods, of the three-dimensional Poisson and Helmholtz equations, representing heat diffusion in solids. For the two applications proposed, the analytical solutions found in the literature review were used to compare with the numerical solutions. The analysis of results was made from the L2 norm (average error throughout the domain) and L∞ norm (maximum error in the entire domain).
