Pomegranate seed oil (PSO) contains many bioactive materials including antimicrobials, antioxidants, tocopherol and unsaturated fatty acids such as punicic acids. Utilising PSO with nanotechnological ways is a novel approach. Therefore, in this study, PSO-loaded nanomats having an average diameter of 327 nm with 97.6% encapsulation efficiency were produced. Then, the protection potential of nanomats was determined in terms of the microbial and oxidative deterioration of food samples. On the 1st day of storage, the TMAB load of the control kashar cheese was 4.35 log CFU g−1, while it was 3.05 log CFU g−1 in the coated cheese (change: 1.3 logs). On the 20th day of storage, the TMAB load of the CK sample and PSc sample was 5.52 and 4.22 log CFU g−1, respectively (change: 1.3 logs). For fish fillets, nanoencapsulated PSO enabled a bacterial reduction of 1.22 log cycles after 9 days of storage. The total mould and yeast number of cheese samples increased during storage, but the increase was lower in the coated group. Nanomats also increased the oxidative stability of food samples. Thiobarbituric acid values of coated samples were lower than uncoated samples.  相似文献

Photofermentative hydrogen production by immobilized Rhodobacter capsulatus YO3 was carried out in a novel photobioreactor in sequential batch mode under indoor and outdoor conditions. Long-term H2 production was realized in a 1.4 L photobioreactor for 64 days using Rhodobacter capsulatus YO3 immobilized with 4% (w/v) agar on 5 mM sucrose and 4 mM glutamate. The highest hydrogen yield (19 mol H2/mol sucrose) and hydrogen productivity (0.73 mmol H2 L?1 h?1) were achieved indoors on 5 mM sucrose. The effect of initial sucrose concentration (5 mM, 10 mM, and 20 mM) on hydrogen production was also investigated. Sustained hydrogen production was carried out under natural, outdoor conditions as well. For the outdoor experiments, the highest hydrogen productivity and yield were obtained as 0.87 ± 0.06 mmol H2 L?1 h?1 and 6.1 ± 0.2 mol H2/mol sucrose, respectively on 10 mM sucrose. Furthermore, this system prevented sudden pH drops and fluctuations caused by the utilization of sucrose throughout the process. These results demonstrate that a proper immobilization setup can lead to long-term efficient and robust hydrogen production even under naturally varying conditions.  相似文献

We analyzed differences in some physicochemical parameters of proteins in shoulder rose (M. Cutaneous-omo brachialis) muscle as a result of beef processing to produce pastirma. Samples from processed muscles showed significantly increased concentrations of extracted proteins, especially of H2O P-ex and Guba-Straub–adenosine triphosphate solution (P < 0.01), as a result of the salting–curing process. The salt-curing process was likely to have an important effect on the extractability of muscle proteins such as myosin heavy chain (MHC) and water-soluble proteins, possibly as a result of releasing some proteins from each other and cleaving the structures between certain proteins. The fluorescence intensities of processed samples were higher than those of the control samples at all guanidine hydrochloride concentrations. The hydrophobicity also increased on account of new compounds that were created during the pastirma-making process. Since the process of making pastirma lasts about 4 weeks (drying), the metmyoglobin content was greatly increased in pastirma samples compared with the unprocessed samples (by as much as 57 %). Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis results conceived that during processing of pastirma products, MHC and other muscle proteins degraded into polypeptides with smaller molecular weight lower than 15-kDa. The results of this study demonstrated that meat processing promoted the enzymatic digestion of some proteins, and the differences in composition between the control and pastirma samples were thus likely to be owing to protein degradation. The traditional pastirma-making process hence has no negative impact on the structure of the muscle and produces a firmer-textured.  相似文献

Hydrogen production by nitrogenase is an energetically expensive process for the cell, hence strictly controlled at different levels. Ammonium is one of the substances regulating nitrogenase activity. The key proteins in the regulation of nitrogenase by ammonium are two regulatory proteins; GlnB and GlnK. In order to increase hydrogen production of Rhodobacter capsulatus DSM1710 (wild type strain) grown on agricultural materials/wastes, ammonium inhibition of nitrogenase enzyme has to be eliminated. In this study, GlnB and GlnK were targeted to be inactivated by in frame site-directed mutagenesis. The glnB mutant R. capsulatus (GP1 strain) was obtained at the end of mutagenesis studies. In the case of glnK, the suicide vector was constructed and delivered into the cells. However, glnK mutant could not be obtained.The effect of ammonium on the growth and hydrogen production of R. capsulatus GP1 was investigated and compared with DSM1710. Both DSM1710 and GP1 strains were effectively utilized acetate. The mutation did not affect cell growth significantly at different ammonium levels. Ammonium negatively affected hydrogen production of GP1 strain as well as the DMS1710. However, hydrogen production was significantly low in GP1 strain. The ammonium inhibition of hydrogen production could not be removed in glnB mutant probably due to the presence of an active GlnK protein in the cell. Therefore, GlnK has much more important role in the ammonium dependent control of nitrogenase than GlnB does. The growth and hydrogen production kinetics of R. capsulatus DSM1710 and GP1 were modelled. They were shown to fit to Logistic Model and Modified Gompertz Model, respectively.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to increase of the flammability properties of the glass fiber (GF)–reinforced poly (lactic acid)/polycarbonate (PLA/PC) composites. Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) and triphenyl phosphate (TPP) were used as flame retardants that are including the organic phosphor to increase flame retardancy of GF‐reinforced composites. APP, TPP, and APP‐TPP mixture flame retardant including composites were prepared by using extrusion and injection molding methods. The properties of the composites were determined by the tensile test, limiting oxygen index (LOI), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and heat release rate (HRR) test. The minimum Tg value was observed for the TPP including PLA/PC composites in DSC analysis. The highest tensile strength was observed in GF‐reinforced PLA/PC composites. In the LOI test, GF including composite was burned with the lowest concentration of oxygen, and burning time was the longest of this composite. However, the shortest burning time was obtained by using the mixture flame retardant system. The flame retardancy properties of GF‐reinforced PLA/PC composite was improved by using mixture flame retardant. When analyzed the results of HRR, time to ignition (TTI), and mass loss rate together, the best value was obtained for the composite including APP.  相似文献

Significant progress was achieved with the application of Rietveld method to characterize the crystalline phases in portland cement paste. However, to obtain detailed information on the amorphous or poorly crystalline phases, it is necessary to analyze the total scattering data. The pair distribution function (PDF) method has been successfully used in the study of liquids and amorphous solids. The method takes the Sine Fourier transform of the measured structure factor over a wide momentum transfer range, providing a direct measure of the probability of finding an atom surrounding a central atom at a radial distance away. The obtained experimental characteristic distances can be also used to validate the predictions by the theoretical models, such as, molecular dynamics, ab initio simulations and density functional theory. The paper summarizes recent results of PDF analysis on silica fume, rice husk ash, fly ash, ASR gel, C–S–H and geopolymers.  相似文献

In this study, natural compounds including gallic acid, ellagic acid, quercetin, β-carotene, and retinol were used as antioxidant agents in order to prevent and decrease oxidation in hazelnut oil. Quercetin showed the strongest antioxidative effect among the antioxidative agents, during storage. The accuracy of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and artificial neural network (ANN) models was studied to estimate the oil samples' peroxide value (PV), free fatty acid (FFA), and iodine values (IV). The root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and determination coefficient (R(2)) statistics were used to evaluate the models' accuracy. Comparison of the models showed that the ANFIS model performed better than the ANN and multiple linear regressions (MLR) models for estimating the PV, FFA, and IV. The values of R(2) and RMSE were found to be 0.9966 and 2.51, 0.6269 and 88.55, 0.5120 and 101.8 for the ANFIS, ANN, and MLR models for PV in testing period, respectively. The MLR was found to be insufficient for estimating various properties of the oil samples.  相似文献
