The maintenance operations of ITER NB components inside the vessel - Beam Line Components (BLC's) involve the removal of the faulty component, its transport to the hot cell as well as the reverse operations of transport of the repaired/new component and its reinstallation inside the vessel. Prior to the removal of the BLC's the cooling pipes must be detached from the component following a procedure that applies to the cutting of the pipes and subsequent welding when the component is re-installed. The purpose of this study, conducted in the framework of EFDA, is to demonstrate the feasibility of the cut and weld operations on the water pipes of the BLC's using fully remote handling techniques. Viable technologies for the cut and weld operations have been identified within the study; in particular the following aspects will be presented in the paper:
- • Different strategies can be pursued in the detachment of the components depending on the number of cut and weld operations to be performed on the pipes. The selected strategy will impact on the procedure to be followed likewise on important aspects as the requirements of the flexible joints assembled on the pipes.
- • The existing cutting techniques have been examined in the light of the remotely performed pipe cutting at the NB cell. Modifications of commercial tools have been proposed in order to adapt them to the BLC's pipes requirements. The debris produced during the cutting process must be controlled and collected, therefore a cleaning system has been integrated in the adapted cutting tool referred above.
- • The existing welding techniques have been also examined and compared based on different criteria such as complexity, reliability, alignment tolerances, etc. TIG welding is the preferred technique as it stands out for its superior performance. The commercial tools identified need to be adapted to the NB environment.
- • The alignment of the pipes is a critical issue concerning the remote welding. A proper alignment system has been proposed taking into account the pre-selected welding technique.

The fracture toughness of steels that are susceptible to dynamic strain aging shows a minimum at temperatures higher than the upper shelf starting temperature. This phenomenon is caused simultaneously by strain aging and plastic deformation. The first aim of the present work is to analyze the effect of dynamic strain aging on the fracture toughness values of three pressure vessel steels in the temperature range between room temperature and 400°C. Fracture mechanics tests were carried out on A533 GB, A516 G70 and 304L steels to obtain the following parameters: JIC, CTODm and the J-R curves. These values were compared against those available in the present references, and good agreement was found. Charpy V notch tests were also carried out on A516 G70 steel at the same test temperatures as for the fracture mechanics tests to analyze the effect of the strain rate. The critical wide stretch zones of the 304L steel specimens were also measured to verify another author's hypothesis about a toughness drop at the upper shelf temperature. 相似文献

Arsenic and selenium compounds may be emitted to the environment during coal conversion processes, although some compounds are retained in the fly ashes, in different proportions depending on the characteristics of the ashes and process conditions. The possibility of optimizing the conditions to achieve better trace element retention appears to be an attractive, economical option for reducing toxic emissions. This approach requires a good knowledge of fly ash characteristics and a thorough understanding of the capture mechanism involved in the retention. In this work the ability of two fly ashes, one produced in pulverized coal combustion and the other in fluidized bed combustion, to retain arsenic and selenium compounds from the gas phase in coal combustion and coal gasification atmospheres was investigated. To explore the possible simultaneous retention of mercury, the influence of the unburned coal particle content was also evaluated. Retention capacities between 2 and 22 mg g(-1) were obtained under different conditions. Soft tissue sarcomas are relatively rare in adults, accounting for less than one percent of newly diagnosed cancers in the United States each year. However, increased physician awareness of these tumors may lead to earlier diagnosis and improved results. The five-year survival rate has been increasing, and treatment using a combination of modalities has significantly reduced the number of amputations performed. The supercritical oil extraction from oleaginous seeds (sunflower and rapeseeds) is presented here through experimental and modelling results. The experimental setup allows an accurate following of the mass of the oil extracted and to derive the experimental influences of pressure, temperature and supercritical CO2 flowrate on the extraction curves. These parameters are very sensitive and highlight the necessity of precise optimisation of experimental conditions. In order to complete the behaviour of supercritical fluids extraction, an improved modelling is proposed. The modelling basic equations are based on others modelling published previously. In this work, the determination of several parameters comes from correlations and the other constants are fitted with all the experimental results. Thus the modelling is more representative and predictive as other ones. The modelling results present a good agreement with the experimental results, and hence it can be used for the dimensioning of some extraction autoclaves. 相似文献

In this paper we report the determination of the diffusion area for oxygen reduction in porous electrode structure having a controlled platinum loading and based on capped platinum electrocatalysts and carbon nanotubes. Such a parameter is expected to be higher than the macroscopic geometrical area of the active porous layer. The oxygen diffusion area is determined by cyclic voltammetry after impregnation of the electrode structure by the electrolyte, and using the equations available for peak potential and peak current as a function of scan speed for irreversible redox couple. First it is found first that the oxygen diffusion area is dependent on the total amount of platinum in the electrode. Second, for a given platinum loading, the diffusion area is higher when the mass ratio of platinum to carbon nanotube decreases. This point indicates that the accessibility of platinum capped electrocatalyst is better in such cases. It is thus concluded that the oxygen diffusion area determination in porous electrode structures may be used to characterize the accessibility of the capped electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction. Even if this area is different in nature from the one calculated by Hydrogen Underpotential Deposition, we believe that its determination might be of interest for the characterization of porous electrodes structures in which the electrocatalyst is combined with a finely divided carbon support. 相似文献
