A new decoding algorithm for geometrically uniform trellis codes is presented. The group structure of the codes is exploited in order to improve the decoding process. Analytical bounds to the algorithm performance and to its computational complexity are derived. The algorithm complexity does not depend on the number of states of the trellis describing the code. A parallel concatenated convolutional coding scheme consists of two constituent systematic: convolutional encoders linked by an interleaver. The information bits at the input of the first encoder are scrambled by the interleaver before entering the second encoder. The codewords of the parallel concatenated code consist of the information bits followed by the parity check bits of both encoders. Parallel concatenated codes (turbo codes), decoded through an iterative decoding algorithm of relatively low complexity, have been shown to yield remarkable coding gains close to theoretical limits. We characterize the separate contributions that the interleaver length and constituent codes give to the overall performance of the parallel concatenated code, and present some guidelines for the optimal design of the constituent convolutional codes 相似文献

Objective
Signal drop-off occurs in echo-planar imaging in inferior brain areas due to field gradients from susceptibility differences between air and tissue. Tailored-RF pulses based on a hyperbolic secant (HS) have been shown to partially recover signal at 3 T, but have not been tested at higher fields.Materials and methods
The aim of this study was to compare the performance of an optimized tailored-RF gradient-echo echo-planar imaging (TRF GRE-EPI) sequence with standard GRE-EPI at 7 T, in a passive viewing of faces or objects fMRI paradigm in healthy subjects.Results
Increased temporal-SNR (tSNR) was observed in the middle and inferior temporal lobes and orbitofrontal cortex of all subjects scanned, but elsewhere tSNR decreased relative to the standard acquisition. In the TRF GRE-EPI, increased functional signal was observed in the fusiform, lateral occipital cortex, and occipital pole, regions known to be part of the visual pathway involved in face-object perception.Conclusion
This work highlights the potential of TRF approaches at 7 T. Paired with a reversed-gradient distortion correction to compensate for in-plane susceptibility gradients, it provides an improved acquisition strategy for future neurocognitive studies at ultra-high field imaging in areas suffering from static magnetic field inhomogeneities.115.

The synthesis, EPR characterisation and biological evaluation of two new metallodendrimers, i.e. a poly(propyleneamine) dendrimer functionalized at the external surface with 4-bromo-1,8-naphthalimide and conjugated with Cu(II) and Zn(II), was performed with the aim to evaluate their antimicrobial and anticancer activity. The antimicrobial activity was investigated in meat-peptone broth against bacteria B. subtilis and P. aeruginosa, and the yeast C. lipolytica. The results showed that the compounds inhibited effectively the tested pathogens even after their deposition on a textile fabric. Anticancer activity was investigated against three human permanent cell lines from non-small cell lung cancer (A549), triple negative breast cancer (MDA-MB-231) and carcinoma of the uterine cervix (HeLa) in the c?=?0.01–30 μM concentration range. The results suggest that these compounds are promising for application in biomedicine as anticancer drugs in the design of new effective preparations. The antimicrobial and anticancer activity may be related to the peculiar structural and dynamical properties revealed for the Cu(II) complexes, by a computer aided analysis of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra. This analysis indicated the formation, at the lowest Cu(II) concentrations, of a flexible rhombic Cu-N4 coordination with the internal amino groups of the dendrimer, which transformed into a Cu2-N4 coordination already at 0.25 equiv. of Cu(II). 相似文献

Colwellia psychrerythraea 34H is a Gram‐negative cold‐adapted microorganism that adopts many strategies to cope with the limitations associated with the low temperatures of its habitat. In this study, we report the complete characterization of the lipid A moiety from the lipopolysaccharide of Colwellia. Lipid A and its partially deacylated derivative were completely characterized by high‐resolution mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy, and chemical analysis. An unusual structure with a 3‐hydroxy unsaturated tetradecenoic acid as a component of the primary acylation pattern was identified. In addition, the presence of a partially acylated phosphoglycerol moiety on the secondary acylation site at the 3‐position of the reducing 2‐amino‐2‐deoxyglucopyranose unit caused tremendous natural heterogeneity in the structure of lipid A. Biological‐activity assays indicated that C. psychrerythraea 34H lipid A did not show an agonistic or antagonistic effect upon testing in human macrophages. 相似文献

In geographic information science and semantics, the computation of semantic similarity is widely recognised as key to supporting a vast number of tasks in information integration and retrieval. By contrast, the role of geo-semantic relatedness has been largely ignored. In natural language processing, semantic relatedness is often confused with the more specific semantic similarity. In this article, we discuss a notion of geo-semantic relatedness based on Lehrer’s semantic fields, and we compare it with geo-semantic similarity. We then describe and validate the Geo Relatedness and Similarity Dataset (GeReSiD), a new open dataset designed to evaluate computational measures of geo-semantic relatedness and similarity. This dataset is larger than existing datasets of this kind, and includes 97 geographic terms combined into 50 term pairs rated by 203 human subjects. GeReSiD is available online and can be used as an evaluation baseline to determine empirically to what degree a given computational model approximates geo-semantic relatedness and similarity. 相似文献

We deal with the design of interleavers in a coded code-division multiple-access (CDMA) scenario, where at the receiver an iterative turbo-like structure to perform multiuser detection is employed. The choice of the interleavers affects both the maximum-likelihood (ML) performance and the impact of the suboptimality of the iterative receiver. First, heuristic criteria of goodness for a set of interleavers, each assigned to a given active user, are introduced and motivated. One of these criteria is based on the intersection between the equivalent codes seen after the interleavers for each user pair. The design rules are valid for any kind of channel code. In particular, when the channel code used by every user is a terminated convolutional code, a very simple design rule, in the subset of congruential interleavers, is specified. The suitability of an interleaver set to iterative decoding is also treated. The analysis leads to a design rule which is shown to have great importance on the performance of a turbo-like receiver. Numerical results assess the validity of the derived design rules by showing that, for iterative multiuser receivers and reasonable block lengths, the suitability to iterative decoding is more important than the performance optimization. 相似文献
