In this study, we report the fabrication of cadmium-doped indium sulfide thin films (In2S3:Cd) using a low-cost nebulizer-aided spray pyrolysis process at 350 °C on glass substrates for photo-sensing applications. The impact of 0, 2, 4, and 8 wt% cadmium concentrations on the structure, morphology, optical properties, and photo-sensing capabilities of In2S3 thin films were examined systematically. From X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, the major peak is located in the (103) plane for all Cd-doped In2S3 thin film samples, and the maximum crystallite size for the 4 wt% sample is 59 nm. The field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) image revealed a homogenous large-grained surface of Cd-doped In2S3 film that completely covered the substrate. UV–Vis absorption analysis demonstrated good absorption for all thin film samples in the visible and ultraviolet regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, particularly, the 4% Cd-doped concentration showed excellent absorption as is observed from Tauc relation. The highest PL intensity at 680 nm was observed for the sample coated with 4 wt% of Cd. Under UV light, the IV behavior depicts a light current of 1.06?×?10–6 A for a 5 V bias voltage. The In2S3: Cd (4%) sample had the highest responsivity of 2.12?×?10?1A/W and a detectivity of 1.84?×?1011 Jones, with a high EQE of 50%. The study manifests that the developed Cd (4%)-doped In2S3 thin film sample might be better suited for the application of photodetectors.

A new single crystal of cesium sulphate-doped 4-methoxyaniline (CS-4MOA) was obtained by the solvent evaporation approach. XRD manifests that the CS-4MOA crystallizes in orthorhombic crystal structure. The existence of several functional groups in the CS-4MOA crystal is affirmed by FTIR analysis. SEM-EDAX analysis was performed to examine the surface morphology and the composition of CS-4MOA sample. Ultraviolet–visible spectral study validates the transparency of CS-4MOA in the region of 330–1100 nm. The thermal steadiness of the CS-4MOA crystal was examined using TG/DTA, which revealed that it was stable up to 88 °C. The mechanical stability of CS-4MOA crystal was assessed through Vickers microhardness analysis. VSM analysis was used to evaluate the magnetic behaviour of the CS-4MOA crystal. The electrical characteristics of the CS-4MOA were investigated by impedance study for various temperatures. The NLO parameters of CS-4MOA were computed by Z-scan technique. The existence of second order nonlinear optical susceptibility in CS-4MOA was confirmed by the SHG investigation. Additionally, antimicrobial activity of CS-4MOA was performed against bacterial strains and fungal pathogen for medicinal applications.

In this study, the authors attempt to provide an account of the factors that affect the outcome of hydrocephaly in 26 foetuses. The hydrocephalus was related to a myelomeningocele in 35% of patients. Sixty-two percent of foetuses showed intra-uterine progression of their hydrocephalus and 50% were shunted postnatally. At a mean follow up of 2 years, the outcome was considered "fair" in 54% of patients. Our findings demonstrate that in foetal hydrocephaly a more favourable outcome is expected in patients with hydrocephalus which does not progress in utero, in whom the labour is not induced before 36 weeks of gestation, who are delivered vaginally weighing more than 2.5 kg and have a head circumference below the 95th centile and a CT cortical mantle thickness of 2 cm and more and who are treated by CSF shunting. The diagnosis of the foetal hydrocephaly at or before 28 weeks of gestation and the presence of a myelomeningocele did not affect the outcome significantly. Neurosurgeons are reminded to keep an open mind for infants with foetal hydrocephaly and to offer active treatment to patients with a potentially favourable outcome.  相似文献

This work presents a triband antenna, which is compact, low profile, and covers the bandwidth requirements for WLAN and WiMAX applications. The proposed design is a modified and miniaturized printed monopole antenna. It consists of beveling rectangular patch, a Pi‐shape slot element, and an inverted‐L slot element to achieve resonance in three bands. The physical size of the antenna is 27.5 × 20 mm2 while the electrical size is 0.26 λ0 × 0.23 λ0 at the lower operating frequency which is very compact as compared to other triband designs. It works in three bands, that is, 2.37 to 2.52 GHz, 3.35 to 3.90 GHz, and 4.97 to 7.85 GHz with |S11| < ? 10 dB within these operating bands. The prototype of the proposed miniaturized antenna has been fabricated and the measured results are provided for validation. Antenna performance is studied in terms of input match, gain, radiation efficiency, surface current distributions, and radiation pattern. The antenna shows a nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern with peak efficiency of 90% and acceptable gain of 4 dBi over the three operating bands of WLAN and WiMAX. The prototype of the antenna is fabricated, and simulated results have been verified through measurements.  相似文献
