Random regression test-day models using Legendre polynomials are commonly used for the estimation of genetic parameters and genetic evaluation for test-day milk production traits. However, some researchers have reported that these models present some undesirable properties such as the overestimation of variances at the edges of lactation. Describing genetic variation of saturated fatty acids expressed in milk fat might require the testing of different models. Therefore, 3 different functions were used and compared to take into account the lactation curve: (1) Legendre polynomials with the same order as currently applied for genetic model for production traits; 2) linear splines with 10 knots; and 3) linear splines with the same 10 knots reduced to 3 parameters. The criteria used were Akaike's information and Bayesian information criteria, percentage square biases, and log-likelihood function. These criteria indentified Legendre polynomials and linear splines with 10 knots reduced to 3 parameters models as the most useful. Reducing more complex models using eigenvalues seemed appealing because the resulting models are less time demanding and can reduce convergence difficulties, because convergence properties also seemed to be improved. Single Phase induction Motors (SPIMs) are one of the widely used motors in the world. This explains the interest accorded by researchers on the improvement of the quality and performances of these motors. The availability of low-cost static converters makes possible the economic use of energy and improvement of the quality of the electromagnetic torque in the SPIM. Nowadays, Indirect Rotor-Field-Oriented Control (IRFOC) techniques brought on a renaissance in modern high-performance control of PWM inverter fed SPIM. In this paper, an IRFOC system is proposed for SPIMs including a relatively simple and effective decoupling scheme. This is achieved by introducing two new decoupling signals to the system. However, model asymmetry in SPIMs causes extra coupling between two stator windings. To use the field orientation control, the asymmetry must be eliminated by using an appropriate variable changing. A computer simulation of the IRFOC for Single-Phase Induction Motor drive is carried out to test the validity of the proposed method at nominal and zero speed. The design, analysis, and implementation for a 1.1-kW Single-Phase Induction Motor are completely carried out using a dSPACE DS1104 digital signal processor (DSP) based real-time data acquisition control (DAC) system, and MATLAB/Simulink environment. The efficient application of current methods of shadow detection in video is hindered by the difficulty in defining their parameters or models and/or their application domain dependence. This paper presents a new shadow detection and removal method that aims to overcome these inefficiencies. It proposes a semi-supervised learning rule using a new variant of co-training technique for shadow detection and removal in uncontrolled scenes. The new variant both reduces the run-time through a periodical execution of a co-training process according to a novel temporal framework, and generates a more generic prediction model for an accurate classification. The efficiency of the proposed method is shown experimentally on a testbed of videos that were recorded by a static camera and that included several constraints, e.g., dynamic changes in the natural scene and various visual shadow features. The conducted experimental study produced quantitative and qualitative results that highlighted the robustness of our shadow detection method and its accuracy in removing cast shadows. In addition, the practical usefulness of the proposed method was evaluated by integrating it in a Highway Control and Management System software called RoadGuard. 相似文献

We propose a nonlinear multiscale decomposition of signals defined on the vertex set of a general weighted graph. This decomposition is inspired by the hierarchical multiscale (BV,L 2) decomposition of Tadmor, Nezzar, and Vese (Multiscale Model. Simul. 2(4):554–579, 2004). We find the decomposition by iterative regularization using a graph variant of the classical total variation regularization (Rudin et al, Physica D 60(1–4):259–268, 1992). Using tools from convex analysis, and in particular Moreau’s identity, we carry out the mathematical study of the proposed method, proving the convergence of the representation and providing an energy decomposition result. The choice of the sequence of scales is also addressed. Our study shows that the initial scale can be related to a discrete version of Meyer’s norm (Meyer, Oscillating Patterns in Image Processing and Nonlinear Evolution Equations, 2001) which we introduce in the present paper. We propose to use the recent primal-dual algorithm of Chambolle and Pock (J. Math. Imaging Vis. 40:120–145, 2011) in order to compute both the minimizer of the graph total variation and the corresponding dual norm. By applying the graph model to digital images, we investigate the use of nonlocal methods to the multiscale decomposition task. Since the only assumption needed to apply our method is that the input data is living on a graph, we are also able to tackle the task of adaptive multiscale decomposition of irregularly sampled data sets within the same framework. The detection of moving objects is a crucial step for many video surveillance applications whether using a visible camera (VIS) or an infrared (IR) one. In order to profit from both types, several fusion methods were proposed in the literature: low-level fusion, medium-level fusion and high-level fusion. The first one is the most used for moving objects’ detection in IR and VIS spectra. In this paper, we present an overview of the different moving object detection methods in IR and VIS spectra and a state of the art of the low-level fusion techniques. Moreover, we propose a new method for moving object detection using low-level fusion of IR and VIS spectra. In order to evaluate quantitatively and qualitatively our proposed method, three series of experiments were carried out using two well-known datasets namely “OSU Color-Thermal Database” and “INO-Database”; the results of these evaluations show promising results and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 相似文献

Fast and accurate moving object segmentation in dynamic scenes is the first step in many computer vision applications. In this paper, we propose a new background modeling method for moving object segmentation based on dynamic matrix and spatio-temporal analyses of scenes. Our method copes with some challenges related to this field. A new algorithm is proposed to detect and remove cast shadow. A comparative study by quantitative evaluations shows that the proposed approach can detect foreground robustly and accurately from videos recorded by a static camera and which include several constraints. A Highway Control and Management System called RoadGuard is proposed to show the robustness of our method. In fact, our system has the ability to control highway by detecting strange events that can happen like vehicles suddenly stopped in roads, parked vehicles in emergency zones or even illegal conduct such as going out from the road. Moreover, RoadGuard is capable of managing highways by saving information about the date and time of overloaded roads. 相似文献

It is important to adapt and personalize image browsing and retrieval systems based on users’ preferences for improved user experience and satisfaction. In this paper, we present a novel instance based personalized multi-form image representation with implicit relevance feedback and adaptive weighting approach for image browsing and retrieval systems. In the proposed system, images are grouped into forms, which represent different information on images such as location, content etc. We conducted user interviews on image browsing, sharing and retrieval systems for understanding image browsing and searching behaviors of users. Based on the insights gained from the user interview study we propose an adaptive weighting method and implicit relevance feedback for multi-form structures that aim to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the system. Statistics of the past actions are considered for modeling the target of the users. Thus, on each iteration weights of the forms are updated adaptively. Moreover, retrieval results are modified according to the users’ preferences on iterations in order to improve personalized user experience. The proposed method has been evaluated and results are illustrated in the paper. It is shown that, satisfactory improvements can be achieved with proposed approaches in the multi-form scheme. 相似文献
