Multiwalled carbon nanotubes on which poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate)s are densely grafted (PCHMA‐CNTs), are synthesized using a modified surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization technique. The electrical resistance of PCHMA‐CNT is systematically characterized under direct current (DC) and alternating current and compared to that of conventional nanocomposites prepared by blending PCHMA with the CNT (PCHMA/CNT). At a comparable volume fraction of CNT, DC volume resistivity of PCHMA‐CNT is 14 orders of magnitude higher than that of PCHMA/CNT. This is because the grafted polymer with a combination of the high molecular weight and the high grafting density isolates individual CNTs at a long distance in the PCHMA‐CNT system. In addition, impedance analysis reveals that the highly insulated PCHMA‐CNT has the same electrical nature as neat PCHMA, i.e., it is a dielectric. Furthermore, dynamic mechanical analysis shows PCHMA‐CNT has a good mechanical properties as well as ultrahigh electrical resistance. 相似文献

For spherical aberration corrected transmission electron microscopes recently developed, the Scherzer resolution in proportion to C(s) 1/4 lambda 3/4 is still inevitably limited by the influence of some other electron optical factors, such as chromatic aberration coefficient of objective lens (C(c)), beam divergence and alignment, incident electron energy spread (deltaE), and the instability of accelerating voltage (deltaV) and of lens current (deltaI). Depending on the image resolution guaranteed by C(s) correction, the defocus spread caused by C(c), deltaV, deltaI and deltaE would need to be reduced. The effect of beam alignment as a phase shift in contrast transfer function is also studied for the C(s) corrected microscopes with different values of C(s), defocus and spatial frequency. There is a relationship between the phase shift and defocus that allows us to find a series of 'alignment-free' focal conditions. A triangular relation among C(s), defocus and lattice spacing is established for proper image contrast and 'alignment-free' imaging with the C(s) corrected microscope. 相似文献

Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are being researched around the world. In Japan, a compact SOFC system with rated alternative current (AC) power of 700 W has become available on the market, since the base load electricity demand for a standard home is said to be less than 700 W AC. To improve the generating efficiency of SOFC systems in the 700-W class, we focused on thermoelectric generation (TEG) technology, since there are a lot of temperature gradients in the system. Analysis based on simulations indicated the possibility of introducing thermoelectric generation at the air preheater, steam generator, and exhaust outlet. Among these options, incorporating a TEG heat exchanger comprising multiple CoSb3/SiGe-based TEG modules into the air preheater had potential to produce additional output of 37.5 W and an improvement in generating efficiency from 46% to 48.5%. Furthermore, by introducing thermoelectric generation at the other two locations, an increase in maximum output of more than 50 W and generating efficiency of 50% can be anticipated. 相似文献

A high-density, 5-V-only, 4-Mb CMOS EEPROM with a NAND-structured cell using Fowler-Nordheim tunneling for programming is discussed. The block-page mode is utilized for high-speed programming and easy microprocessor interface. A built-in folded monopole antenna for handsets (BFMA) is introduced and investigated. The characteristics of the BFMA are compared with those of a planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA), which is one of the conventional handset antennas. We report a novel hybrid charge sensor realized by the deposition of phospholipid monolayers on highly doped n‐GaN electrodes. To detect the binding of recombinant proteins with histidine‐tags, lipid vesicles containing chelator lipids were deposited on GaN electrodes pre‐coated with octadecyltrimethoxysilane monolayers. Owing to its optical transparency, GaN allows the confirmation of the fluidity of supported membranes by fluorescence recovery after photo‐bleaching (FRAP). The electrolyte‐(organic) insulator‐semiconductor (EIS) setup enables one to transduce variations in the surface charge density ΔQ into a change in the interface capacitance ΔC p and, thus, the flat‐band potential ΔU FB. The obtained results demonstrate that the membrane‐based charge sensor can reach a high sensitivity to detect reversible changes in the surface charge density on the membranes by the formation of chelator complexes, docking of eGFP with histidine tags, and cancellation by EDTA. The achievable resolution of ΔQ ≥ 0.1 μC/cm2 is better than that obtained for membrane‐functionalized p‐GaAs, 0.9 μC/cm2, and for ITO coated with a polymer supported lipid monolayer, 2.2 μC/cm2. Moreover, we examined the potential application of optically active InGaN/GaN quantum dot structures, for the detection of changes in the surface potential from the photoluminescence signals measured at room temperature. 相似文献

A transmission electron microscope (TEM) sample for observing photocatalysis in a liquid was prepared by using N,N,N-trimetyl-N-propylammonium-bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide. The ionic liquid (IL) was used as a reaction solvent. Tetrachloroauric acid was dissolved in the IL as gold ion species. Rutile particles were added in the solution as a photocatalyst. The low vapor pressure of the IL enables a diffusing system in high vacuum of TEM. Rutile particles were UV irradiated in that liquid phase. After 3 h UV irradiation, a gold particle of 8 nm diameter was grown on the TiO2 surface. Photonucleation of Au/TiO2 system was discussed from the high-resolution TEM images. 相似文献

We report on the fabrication and the characterization of p-type organic field-effect transistors based on vapor-deposited J-aggregate bisazomethine dye thin films. The absorption spectra of this non-ionic organic semiconductor in the solid state show a strong influence of the film thickness on the J-aggregate formation. However, the electrical characteristics of the devices demonstrate that the hole transport properties do not vary significantly in films thicker than 100 nm. This is due to the fact that the J-aggregates are formed in this material at the surface of the crystalline grains and do not influence the semiconductor/gate dielectric interface and the charge transport properties of the devices. Hole field-effect mobilities as high as 2.4 × 10?4 cm2 V?1 s?1 were obtained and could be slightly improved by a solvent vapor treatment due to changes in the film crystallinity. Overall, this study demonstrates that J-aggregate bisazomethine dye thin films are good candidates for the realization of organic electronic devices. 相似文献

Rain attenuation is the dominant propagation impairment for satellite communication systems operating at frequencies above about 10 GHz. The rainfall path attenuation at 12.255 GHz measured at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for 4 years (2 January to 5 December) is presented. This paper presents an empirical analysis of rain rate and rain attenuation cumulative distribution functions obtained using 1‐min integrated rainfall data and comparison of the measured data with data obtained from well‐established rain model attenuation predictions.
