Response of urinary lipophilic aldehydes and related carbonyl compounds to factors that stimulate lipid peroxidation in vivo 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
Peroxidation of lipids results in the formation of a number of aldehydic and other carbonyl-containing secondary degradation
products. The effect of peroxidative stimuli mediated by vitamin E deficiency, a diet high in polyunsaturated fatty acids
(containing cod liver oil), and carbon tetrachloride administration on urinary excretion of a number of lipophilic aldehydes
and related carbonyl compounds was examined in rats. These secondary lipid peroxidation products were measured as 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine
derivatives. All three treatments increased urinary excretion of secondary lipid peroxidation products, although the pattern
of excretion of these products varied somewhat among the treatments. Significant increases were found in butanal, hexanal,
octanal. butan-2-one, pentan-2-one, hex-2-enal, hepta-2,4-dienal, 4-hydroxyhex-2-enal, 4-hydroxyoct-2-enal, 4-hydroxynon-2-enal,
and a number of unidentified carbonyl compounds. These results suggest that urinary excretion of these lipophilic secondary
lipid peroxidation products is a useful and noninvasive marker of whole-body lipid peroxidation. 相似文献

The rheological behavior under pressure-driven shear flow was studied using binary blends with a sea-island structure. The addition of a low-viscosity dispersion having a high interfacial tension with the continuous phase greatly reduces the shear viscosity, for example, the addition of atactic polystyrene (PS) with a low viscosity to isotactic polypropylene (PP) and the addition of PP with a low viscosity to PS. The interfacial slippage occurs because of the poor adhesive strength with the enlarged interfacial area and is responsible for the viscosity decrease. When the dispersion has a similar viscosity to the continuous phase, the viscosity decrease is barely detected. This is because the deformation of dispersed droplets is restricted, which creates a small interfacial area. The interfacial tension between the continuous and dispersed phases plays a crucial role on the shear viscosity. In the case of PP, the addition of linear low-density polyethylene with a relatively low interfacial tension to PP has almost no impact on the shear viscosity. Kundur [Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Cogn.], a member of the family Cucurbitaceae, is one of the famous crops that are grown primarily for its fruits and usually recognized with its nutritional and medicinal properties especially in Asian countries. Kundur fruit has been valued as a nutritious vegetable as it provides a good source for natural sugars, amino acids, organic acids, mineral elements and vitamins. A number of medicinal properties such as anti-diarrheal, anti-obesity, anti-ulcer, and antioxidant and diuretic have been ascribed to this fruit of high economic value. As a rich source of functionally important bioactives and therapeutics such as triterpenes, phenolics, sterols, and glycosides, the fruit has been widely used for the treatment of epilepsy, ulcer, and other nervous disorders in the native medicine system of Asia. In recent years, food protein-derived hydrolysates have received considerable attention because of their numerous health benefits. Amongst the hydrolysates, those with anti-hypertensive and anti-oxidative activities are receiving special attention as both activities can play significant roles in preventing cardiovascular diseases. The present study investigated the angiotensin-I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory and anti-oxidative activities of Actinopyga lecanora (A. lecanora) hydrolysates, which had been prepared by alcalase, papain, bromelain, flavourzyme, pepsin, and trypsin under their optimum conditions. The alcalase hydrolysate showed the highest ACE inhibitory activity (69.8%) after 8 h of hydrolysis while the highest anti-oxidative activities measured by 2,2-diphenyl 1-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging (DPPH) (56.00%) and ferrous ion-chelating (FIC) (59.00%) methods were exhibited after 24 h and 8 h of hydrolysis, respectively. The ACE-inhibitory and anti-oxidative activities displayed dose-dependent trends, and increased with increasing protein hydrolysate concentrations. Moreover, strong positive correlations between angiotensin-I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory and anti-oxidative activities were also observed. This study indicates that A. lecanora hydrolysate can be exploited as a source of functional food owing to its anti-oxidant as well as anti-hypertension functions. 相似文献

This paper focuses on the optimization problem of a wind farm layout. This area of research is currently receiving widespread attention, as optimal positioning of the turbines promotes the financial viability of the wind farm and enhances the competitiveness of wind projects in the energy market. In this work, cuckoo search (CS), a modern population‐based metaheuristic optimization algorithm, is used. The objective is to find the turbine layout and types that maximize the net present value of the wind farm, while constraints on the turbine positions have to be met. The following constraints are considered: Firstly, the minimum distance between turbines for safe operation; secondly, a realistic wind farm shape including forbidden zones for installation and the existing infrastructure. Furthermore, the optimization of the wind farm includes an algorithm to find the least expensive layout of the wind farm roads and the electrical collector system. The algorithm is based on Dijkstra's shortest path and Prim's minimum spanning tree algorithms. The test results indicate that the infrastructure cost has a significant effect on the optimum wind farm solution. A genetic algorithm, commonly applied to wind farm micro‐siting problems, is used to benchmark the performance of the CS. The results show that the CS is capable of consistently finding better solutions than the genetic algorithm. 相似文献
