Restoration of tumor oxygenation after cytotoxic therapy by a perflubron emulsion/carbogen breathing
Thirty-six psychiatric patients with completed suicide, 162 with attempted suicide and 154 patients referred for suicidal behavior, four of whom died, were investigated and classified according to the ICD-10. Thirty-six patients with completed suicide among 9085 new psychiatric patients (1969-92) gave a suicide rate of 82.6/100 000 per year. Schizoaffective and depressive disorder in psychiatric patients with completed suicide and schizophrenia, depressive disorder and adjustment disorders in patients with attempted suicide were significantly more frequent than in 312 controls. Intrafamilial conflicts, divorce or loss of love and death or severe disease of family member were the most common precipitants. Loneliness from living alone in males, losing a spouse and intrafamilial conflicts within a large family of three generations in females were supposed to be risk factors. A high referral rate of 48% in attempted suicide indicated the important role of consultation-liaison psychiatry in emergency medicine. 相似文献

The success of the Internet is remarkable in light of the decentralized manner in which it is designed and operated. Unlike
small scale networks, the Internet is built and controlled by a large number of disparate service providers who are not interested
in any global optimization. Instead, providers simply seek to maximize their own profit by charging users for access to their
service. Users themselves also behave selfishly, optimizing over price and quality of service. Game theory provides a natural
framework for the study of such a situation. However, recent work in this area tends to focus on either the service providers
or the network users, but not both. This paper introduces a new model for exploring the interaction of these two elements,
in which network managers compete for users via prices and the quality of service provided. We study the extent to which competition
between service providers hurts the overall social utility of the system.

Cu2+ doped ZnSe nanoparticles are prepared by simple chemical method at room temperature with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the passivating agent. The prepared sample is characterized by using X-ray diffraction, optical, photoluminescence, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and FT-IR techniques. The average crystallite size is calculated from X-ray diffraction pattern and it is about 8 nm. The presence of the paramagnetic Cu2+ species in ZnSe is identified by optical and EPR measurements. The site symmetry for Cu2+ is ascribed as tetragonally distorted octahedral site symmetry. Crystal field, spin-Hamiltonian and bonding parameters are evaluated. Room temperature photoluminescence spectrum of Cu2+ doped ZnSe exhibits emission peaks at 343, 353 and 411 nm which corresponds to UV region at the excitation wavelength of 310 nm. FT-IR spectrum indicates the presence of various functional groups of PVA in ZnSe nanoparticles. Different physical parameters are also evaluated for the prepared sample. 相似文献

An extensive increase in industrial activities and environmental accidents in recent years have greatly contributed to increasing metal pollution in water resources, thereby causing threats to terrestrial as well as aquatic life. The toxicity of metal pollution is slow and long lasting, as these metal ions are nonbiodegradable. The most appropriate solution for controlling the biogeochemistry of metal contaminants to produce high-quality treated effluents from polluted wastewaters is sorption technique. Agar–agar, a readily available seaweed, was used as sorbent for the removal of Mn(II) and Co(II) from aqueous media. Batch experiments were performed to study adsorption as a function of process parameters: sorption time, initial pH, concentration of sorbate and sorbent. The Freundlich model fitted best with the experimental equilibrium data between the two adsorption isotherm models tested. The kinetic data correlated well with the Lagergren pseudo-second-order kinetic model for the sorption of both Mn(II) and Co(II) using agar–agar. Adsorbed metal ions were quantitatively recovered from the spent adsorbent using 5.0 mol L?1 HCl. The efficiency of agar–agar for decontaminating Mn(II) and Co(II) from electroplating effluent has also been evaluated. The results proved agar–agar to be a favorable adsorbent to remove and recover Mn(II) and Co(II) from waste effluent for further use in diversified industrial applications. 相似文献

The relationship between the δ phase content and the mechanical properties of Inconel 718 superalloy is still uncertain in the scientific literature. This study investigated the effects of the amount of δ phase and of the grain size on the mechanical properties of an aged γ-matrix with γ′ and γ″ precipitates. The material in as-received condition in the form of a forged bar was solution-treated in different conditions and aged according to UNS7718 standard. The microstructures were characterized using optical, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy. Hardness and tensile tests were also conducted. After solution treatment, γ′ and γ″ phases are dissolved and δ phase volume fraction is reduced to a minimum amount only observed by TEM, resulting in an increase of the grain size and a decrease of hardness and strength. After aging, the precipitation of γ′ and γ″ occurs and the amount of δ phase increases. The volume fraction of δ phase varying from 0.30 to 1.38% and the grain size varying from ASTM 7 to 5 do not have a significant effect on the tensile properties and hardness. 相似文献

Active nanocomposites of epoxy resin containing bentonite clay and shape memory alloy (SMA) were made to evaluate the thermomechanical behavior in the range of phase transformation of shape memory alloy during heating. The epoxy resin system studied was prepared using bifunctional diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA), crosslinking agent diaminodiphenylsulfone (DDS), purified bentonite organoclay (APOC) and thin Ni‐Ti shape memory alloy wires. The evaluated ratio DGEBA/DDS was 100:40, for the epoxy resin/clay system was 100:1 and the shape memory alloy volumetric fraction of Ni‐Ti wires were 1.55%; 2.56%; 3.57% and 4.54%. The formation of nanocomposite was confirmed by X‐ray diffraction analysis. Phase transformation of the shape memory alloy wires were determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Specimens of the active nanocomposites were characterized mainly by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). According to the DMA results was evidenced a significant increase in glass transition temperature and storage modulus when 1 parts per hundred resin of clay is added to epoxy resin. A recover of storage modulus was observed in the active nanocomposite during heating in the range of the phase transformation of Ni‐Ti shape memory alloy wires when the volumetric fraction is above 3.5%. 相似文献
