The main goal of the IEEE 802.11n standard is to achieve more than 100 Mbps of throughput at the MAC service access point. This high throughput has been achieved via many enhancements in both the physical and MAC layers. One of the MAC enhancements is the frame aggregation in which multiple frames are concatenated into a single large frame before being transmitted. The 802.11n MAC layer defines two types of aggregation, aggregate MAC service data unit (A-MSDU) and aggregate MAC protocol data unit (A-MPDU). The A-MPDU outperforms A-MSDU due to its large aggregation size and the subframes retransmission in erroneous channels. However, in error free channels and under the same aggregation size the A-MSDU performs better than the A-MPDU due to its smaller headers. Thus, adding a selective retransmission capability to the A-MSDU would improve the system performance. In this paper, we have proposed an MSDU frame aggregation scheme that enables selective retransmission at the MSDU level without altering the original MAC header. In this proposed scheme an implicit sequence control mechanism has been introduced in order to keep the frames in sequence and preserve their correct order at the receiver side. The results show that the proposed scheme improves the system performance in terms of throughput and delay even under highly erroneous channels.  相似文献

Amino acid propensity score is one of the earliest successful methods used in protein secondary structure prediction. However, the score performs poorly on small-sized datasets and low-identity protein sequences. Based on current in silico method, secondary structure can be predicted from local folds or local protein structure. In biology, the evolution of secondary structure produces local protein structure with different lengths. To precisely predict secondary structures, we propose a derivative feature vector, DPS that utilizes the optimal length of the local protein structure. DPS is the unification of amino acid propensity score and dihedral angle score. This new feature vector is further normalized to level the edges. Prediction is performed by support vector machines (SVM) over the DPS feature vectors with class labels generated by secondary structure assignment method (SSAM) and secondary structure prediction method (SSPM). All experiments are carried out on RS126 sequences. The results from this proposed method also highlight the overall accuracy of our method compared to other state-of-the-art methods. The performance of our method was acceptable specifically in dealing with low number and low identity sequences.  相似文献

In earlier studies of elastomer adhesion it has been found that the level of adhesion rises with increasing contact time for joined surfaces. Physical reasons for this dwell time effect are under debate. This paper describes an experimental study of the effect using the contact of optically smooth rubber surfaces pressed against glass. The study confirms the existence of the effect for a range of vulcanized rubber compounds; surface bloom appears to be strongly linked with it for the particular cases examined.  相似文献

Uncrosslinked and chemically crosslinked ethylene‐vinyl acetate copolymers (EVAs) with 5–25 volume percentages of zeolite were prepared in a melt‐mixing process and then compression‐molded on a hot‐press machine according to standard test specifications. The mechanical properties measured by tensile test showed a reduction in tensile strength and elongation at break with increasing zeolite content. However, an increasing trend was observed for tensile modulus with addition of zeolite. Experimental results for ultimate stress were compared with those from Pukanszky equation. The experimental data showed a good fit to the Pukanszky model. The improvement in the interfacial interaction for crosslinked composites was also confirmed by this model. Morphological changes of EVA/zeolite composites were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The fractured surface of the composites indicated more complex morphology at higher zeolite loading. The influence of crosslinking induced by 2 wt% of dicumyl peroxide on the properties of EVA/zeolite composites was also investigated. The crosslinked composites showed better tensile properties than the uncrosslinked ones, a result which might be an indication of enhanced interaction between the EVA and zeolite. Density measurements, gel content determinations, and Fourier transform infrared analyses were also performed to evaluate the crosslink content of the composites. The changes in the properties of chemically crosslinked EVA/zeolite composites were observed. Meanwhile, SEM micrographs of the crosslinked EVA/zeolite composites showed better interfacial strength between zeolite and the EVA matrix as compared to that of the uncrosslinked composites. J. Estimation of total water balance is a substantial issue for watershed modelling in order to simulate the major components of the hydrological cycle to determine the stress of different anthropogenic activities on the available water resources within a catchment. In this context, the fully distributed physically based MIKE SHE modelling system was used to simulate the individual hydrological components of the total water balance for the Paya Indah Wetlands (PIW) watershed in the west of Peninsular Malaysia. Results reveal that the overall water balance is predominantly controlled by climate variables. Application of the model to the PIW watershed provides detailed estimation of the total water balance for a first‐order catchment in which actual evapotranspiration (ET) represents approximately 65 and 58%, while overland flow (OL) to the PIW lake system represents 12.38 and 12.3% of the total rainfall during the calibration and validation periods, respectively. The difference of the inflow and outflow was taken as storage in depth. Overall, the model gives a reasonable output of total error of less than 1% of the total rainfall, which in turn indicates that the interaction among components is satisfactorily sustained.  相似文献

There is an urgent need to treat diabetes, and therefore, this work reports on a chitosan-built hydrogel functionalized by a glucose sensing moiety, which simulates pancreatic activity. The effect of external stimuli on various internal properties was investigated to establish the action of the hydrogel. The model drugs, fluorescein (D1) and rhodamine (D2), with a diol architecture, were investigated spectroscopically with 75.94% loading and 65.63% release. Consequently, a ligand to glucose ratio of 2:1 in comparison with a ligand to model drug ratio of 1:1 was addressed. The system was expected to lead to findings on applications for the self-controlled release of insulin in response to blood glucose levels.  相似文献

This paper presents a new optimized interval principal component analysis applied to detect and isolate actuators faults of an autonomous spacecraft involved in the rendezvous phase of the Mars sample return mission. Based on the exploitation of various arithmetic and interval analysis properties, the new interval model is built by solving the interval eigenpairs problem via a resolution of a parametric linear programming problem. The detection and isolation phases are performed by extending the classic methods to interval-valued data. The proposed method is applied to detect and isolate actuators faults that can occur on the spacecraft's thrusters. Based on data provided by a “high fidelity” industrial simulator developed by Thales Alenia Space, the obtained results proved the effectiveness of the proposed interval fault diagnosis method on detecting and isolating thrusters' faults.  相似文献

Two different viscoelastic frameworks adapted to large strain rate-dependent response of elastomers are compared; for each approach, a simple model is derived. Within the Finite Linear Viscoelasticity theory, a time convolution integral model based on an extension to solid of the K-BKZ model is proposed. Considering the multiplicative split of the deformation gradient into elastic and inelastic parts, an internal variable model based on a large strain version of the Standard Linear Solid model is considered. In both cases, the strain energy functions involved are chosen neo-Hookean, and then each model possesses three material parameters: two stiffnesses and a viscosity parameter. These parameters are set to ensure the equivalence of the model responses for uniaxial large strain quasi-static and infinitely fast loading conditions, and for uniaxial rate-dependent small strain loading conditions. Considering their responses for different Eulerian strain rates, their differences are investigated with respect to the strain rate; more specifically, both stiffness and dissipative properties are studied. The comparison reveals that these two models differ significantly for intermediate strain rates, and a closing discussion highlights some issues about their foundations and numerical considerations.  相似文献
