Recently, lithium‐ion batteries have been attracting more interest for use in automotive applications. Lithium resources are confirmed to be unevenly distributed in South America, and the cost of the lithium raw materials has roughly doubled from the first practical application in 1991 to the present and is increasing due to global demand for lithium‐ion accumulators. Since the electrochemical equivalent and standard potential of sodium are the most advantageous after lithium, sodium based energy storage is of great interest to realize lithium‐free high energy and high voltage batteries. However, to the best of our knowledge, there have been no successful reports on electrochemical sodium insertion materials for battery applications; the major challenge is the negative electrode and its passivation. In this study, we achieve high capacity and excellent reversibility sodium‐insertion performance of hard‐carbon and layered NaNi0.5Mn0.5O2 electrodes in propylene carbonate electrolyte solutions. The structural change and passivation for hard‐carbon are investigated to study the reversible sodium insertion. The 3‐volt secondary Na‐ion battery possessing environmental and cost friendliness, Na+‐shuttlecock hard‐carbon/NaNi0.5Mn0.5O2 cell, demonstrates steady cycling performance as next generation secondary batteries and an alternative to Li‐ion batteries.  相似文献

The physics of plasma acceleration is described by using RF linac terminology such as shunt impedance, filling time, transit time factor, etc. It is shown that some differences between conventional RF accelerators and plasma accelerators make it difficult to import the RF linac terminology directly into the new field. For example, the shunt impedance is of limited use and the filling time is no use in wake-field accelerators with single-drive beams or single-pump pulses. The beatwave accelerator, a driven oscillator system, has in a sense more similarity to RF linacs than wake-field accelerators. It was shown that plasma wave decay due to collisions and modulational instability seriously deteriorate the quality factor.  相似文献

The breaking mechanism of two-ply nylon 6 continuous-filament yarn is investigated, and the breakage of the yarn under simple tensile-loading conditions is compared with that of a filament subjected to the same loading. The simplest types of model yarn were prepared for this purpose. These yarns were ruptured at a low rate of extension, and the fracture morphologies of the filaments in the yarns were inspected by scanning electron microscopy. Two typical kinds of morphological feature are obtained in these yarns. In order to understand the breaking mechanism of the yarn, the cause of these features is discussed on the basis of the breaking mechanism of a single filament.  相似文献

A chronic feeding study to evaluate the safety of the genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant soybeans (GM soybeans) was conducted using rats. F344 DuCrj rats were fed diet containing GM soybeans or Non-GM soybeans at the concentration of 30% in basal diet. Non-GM soybeans were closely related strain of GM soybeans. These two diets were adjusted to an identical nutrient level. In this study, the influence of GM soybeans on rats was compared with that of the Non-GM soybeans, and furthermore, to assess the effect of soybeans themselves, the groups of rats fed GM and Non-GM soybeans were compared with a group fed commercial diet (CE-2). General conditions were observed daily and body weight and food consumption were recorded. At the intermediate examination (26 weeks), and at the termination (52 weeks), animals were subjected to hematology, serum biochemistry, and pathological examination. There were several differences in animal growth, food intake, serum biochemical parameters and histological findings between the rats fed the GM and/or Non-GM soybeans and the rats fed CE-2. However, body weight and food intake were similar for the rats fed the GM and Non-GM soybeans. Gross necropsy findings, hematological and serum biochemical parameters, organ weights, and pathological findings showed no meaningful difference between rats fed the GM and Non-GM soybeans. These results indicate that long-term intake of GM soybeans at the level of 30% in diet has no apparent adverse effect in rats.  相似文献

Carp cathepsin L, which is the best candidate to produce textural change in the arai-treated carp fillet, exhibited maximum hydrolytic activity for Z-Phe-Arg-MCA and soluble casein at pH 5·0–5·5. The proteolytic action of the enzyme was evaluated by complete degradation of various carp myofibrils at pH 5·0 over 30 min and by potent degradation of the same proteins at pH 5·5–6·0 over 20 h. All myofibrillar components were partially degraded by the enzyme at pH 6·5–7·0, but varying amounts of them remained undegraded after 20 h. These findings indicate that carp cathepsin L degrades not only carp myofibrillar components but also their resultant products between pH 5·0 and 7·0 and that it markedly acts on myosin heavy chain, α-actinin and troponin-T and -I. Carp cathepsin L likely contributes to postmortem muscle tenderisation of carp fillet over an extensive pH range during storage. © 1998 SCI.  相似文献

A ruthenium complex was found to catalyze the hydrogen reduction of esters under mild and neutral conditions. A variety of optically active esters can be reduced to the corresponding alcohols in excellent yield without loss of their optical purity or causing undesirable side reactions. Hydrogen reduction needs such simple operations – reaction, concentration, and purification – that the violent quench step and extraction step, which accompany conventional sodium borohydride or lithium aluminum hydride reduction, can be omitted.  相似文献
