The solubility of tungsten in iron has been determined at 1560–1620°C by successively saturating molten iron with tungsten while ensuring a uniform distribution of the content over the height. Experimental results on void fraction and friction pressure drop in vapour-potassium flows in the high-vapour-quality region up to unity are presentéd. The experimental data obtained and the pertinent results of other authors are generalized, and empirical relationship are suggested to calculate void fraction and pressure drop in two-phase liquid metal flows for channels of various configurations and orientations. The relationships are valid within the range of vapour qualities from almost zero to unit. The experimental data prove the mass velocity to have no influence on the hydrodynamic characteristics within the range of the parameters investigated. It is found in the experiments with heat supply that friction pressure losses are smaller than those for adiabatic conditions. It is shown that this result is in good correspondence with the model of the effect of injection in a boundary layer on the value of shear stresses between cases.  相似文献

The early stages in the formation of α1 plates in the ordered β′ matrix of a Cu-39 pct Zn alloy have been studied with transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The early stage plates were found to be free of stacking faults. Their contrast features are indeed those normally expected from small coherent plates. Electron microdiffraction confirms that these plates have the 9R structure characteristic of α1 with the same lattice parameters and orientation relationships reported by previous investigators at much later stages of growth. Similarly, the 9R structure was disordered, even though it was formed in an ordered matrix, again repeating previous results obtained at a later stage of growth. These results further support the view that the α1 Cu-Zn plates form by a diffusion-controlled mechanism. The majority of pituitary tumors are of monoclonal origin; however, the molecular basis for their formation is poorly understood. Somatic mutations in the alpha-subunit of the GTP-binding protein, Gs alpha (gsp oncogene) have been found in about one third of GH-secreting tumors. Mutations in another alpha-subunit of a GTP-binding protein, Gi2 alpha (gip mutations) have been described in other endocrine tumors. In this study, we examined 21 nonfunctioning pituitary tumors and 4 macroprolactinomas for gsp mutations and 27 nonfunctioning tumors and 4 macroprolactinomas for gip mutations. Using the polymerase chain reaction and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, 2 nonfunctioning pituitary tumors displayed migration abnormalities when the Gs alpha-gene was analyzed. Sequence analysis of these abnormally migrating polymerase chain reaction products revealed two previously known gsp mutations: arginine at codon 201 altered to cysteine, and glutamine at codon 227 changed to leucine. No gip mutations could be demonstrated. These findings emphasize the monoclonal origin of nonfunctioning pituitary tumors and suggest that cAMP may play a role in tumorigenesis of nonfunctioning pituitary tumors.  相似文献

The buckling of plain and discretely stiffened composite axisymmetric shell panels/shells made of repeated sublaminate construction is studied using the finite element method. In repeated sublaminate construction, a full laminate is obtained by repeating a basic sublaminate, which has a smaller number of plies. The optimum design for buckling is obtained by determining the layup sequence of the plies in the sublaminate by ranking, so as to achieve maximum buckling load for a specified thickness. For this purpose, a four-noded 48-dof quadrilateral composite thin shell element, together with fully compatible two-noded 16-dof composite meridional and parallel circle stiffener elements are used.  相似文献

A mathematical model of dissolution of gas in a metal is suggested with account of phase formation in accordance with the phase constitution diagram (PCD). The stage-by-stage saturation process to the final product formation is shown for an individual particle, through which a reaction wave passes, depending on the diffusion permeability of the metal and solubility conditions that obey Sieverts's law. An ELISA has been set up for quantifying mouse monoclonal antibodies in culture supernatant. The assay includes rabbit anti-mouse IgG antibodies chromatographycally purified. This preparation was used as coating and as conjugated antibodies in the ELISA. The assay can detect IgG1 with sensitivity of 0.2 ng/mL, IgG2a (0.85 ng/mL), IgG2b (0.13 ng/mL), and IgG3 (3.19 ng/mL) in culture supernatants. The effective working range was from subnanogram per mL quantities to 30 ng/mL by using a computer statistical program. Variation coefficient of ELISA was below 7%. Correlation estimates with a similar ELISA using commercial reagents were performed for each mouse antibody subclass. The assay was able to detect the four mouse monoclonal antibody subclasses in pure human serum as compared with the same ELISA using commercial antibodies. A 24-h pharmacokinetic profile of 1 patient treated with an IgG2a monoclonal antibody is presented.  相似文献
