The authors describe relative changes in the blood filling of 46 vascular areas of the body in rats after a moderate and severe blood loss. Moderate blood loss caused redistribution of the blood from the skin of the chest and from the skin of the posterior limbs, the majority of the abdominal and pelvis minor organs, muscular and bone tissues of the abdomen, pelvis minor and extremities into the brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, stomach and into the muscles of the head and neck. In severe blood loss the changes were analogous, but the blood content in the kidneys and the stomach decreased, and there was also a relative elevation of the blood in the muscles and bones of the chest. The intensity of the redistributive reaction in severe blood loss was less than in moderate blood loss.  相似文献

Current therapeutic efforts to treat chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disease include, for the first time, attempts to regenerate affected nervous tissue using neurotrophic factors. The rationale for using trophic factors includes the understanding that they support neuronal survival and regrowth processes. The potential benefits of trophic factor therapy will be no more realized in the near future than in the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). ALS is pathologically characterized by the selective degeneration of specific populations of cranial and spinal motoneurons. Evidence for the existence of factors that support motoneurons has come from studies demonstrating that motoneurons receive trophic influences from various tissues, both central and peripheral, within their local environment. Although the identity of these putative tissue-derived factors has remained enigmatic, recent studies have demonstrated that several previously characterized trophic factors exhibit trophic influences on motoneurons. Among these are several members of the neurotrophin family, most notably brain-derived neurotrophic factor. These neurotrophins meet most of the criteria to be considered motoneuron trophic factors: they are locally available to motoneurons in vivo; motoneurons express specific receptors for these factors; and exogenous application of these factors mimicks the effects of the uncharacterized endogenous agents. The clinical use of these factors for the treatment of ALS, therefore, appears to be scientifically justified.  相似文献

The objective of this work was to compare two anaerobic reactor configurations, a hybrid upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASBh) reactor and an anaerobic sequencing batch reactor with immobilised biomass (ASBBR) treating dairy effluents. The reactors were fed with effluent from the milk pasteurisation process (effluent 1—E1) and later with effluent from the same process combined with the one from the cheese manufacturing (effluent 2—E2). The ASBBR reactor showed average organic matter removal efficiency of 95.2% for E1 and 93.5% for E2, while the hybrid UASB reactor showed removal efficiencies of 90.3% and 80.1% respectively.  相似文献

Peptide mass mapping by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) followed by database searching with the set of measured peptide masses is now a powerful method for the identification of pure proteins. Protein mixtures--such as frequently occur due to comigration in polyacrylamide gel bands--have hitherto required protein sequencing. Here we demonstrate that such protein bands can also be analyzed by peptide mass mapping alone. Database searching with the complete list of peptide masses determined by delayed-extraction MALDI mass spectrometry with a mass error of less than 30 ppm retrieves the most prominent protein in a mixture. In a second step, the protein identity is further confirmed by matching as many of the measured peptide masses as possible to the retrieved amino acid sequence. Peptide masses remaining after this "second pass search" are searched again to identify the next component in the protein mixture. This iterative process is repeated until all major ion signals are accounted for. Protein mixtures consisting of two or more individual components in a single gel band can be analyzed, further increasing the general applicability of MALDI peptide mapping for protein identification.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To measure binocular function and patient satisfaction with monovision induced by photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in myopic presbyopic patients. SETTING: Refractive Department, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. METHODS: This study comprised 21 myopic presbyopic patients with monovision induced by PRK. Sixteen emmetropic patients who had PRK served as a control group. Monovision was induced by undercorrecting the nondominant eye by 1.25 diopters for near vision and correcting the dominant eye with emmetropia for distance vision. Monocular and binocular uncorrected Snellen visual acuities at 20 feet and 13 inches, manifest refraction, ocular dominance, stereopsis at 20 feet and 13 inches, monocular and binocular contrast sensitivities, Worth-4-Dot test at 20 feet and 1/3 of a meter, and fusional convergence amplitudes were examined in each patient. RESULTS: In the monovision group at near and distance, 20 patients (95.3%) had binocular visual acuity of 20/25 or better. No patient in the monovision group used reading glasses postoperatively; 4 of 16 patients (25.0%) in the control group used such glasses. All patients maintained binocular fusion and stereo acuity ranging from 40 to 800 seconds of arc. Mean patient satisfaction was 86% (range 40% to 100%). In the control group, 12 patients (75.0%) had binocular distance visual acuity of 20/25 or better and 11 (68.8%) had binocular near visual acuity of 20/25 or better. CONCLUSION: Monovision PRK patients had better near vision than control PRK patients, with minimal compromise in stereo acuity and overall high patient satisfaction.  相似文献

本文设计了用于千兆以太网基带铜缆接收器均衡的甚高频自适应连续时间Gm-C二阶带通滤波器。基于最陡梯度下降算法,带通滤波器的零点在57-340MHz的频率范围内可以自适应地调节,中心频率为1.278GHz。通过外接电阻伺服环路,滤波器中跨导转换器的跨导值不受工艺偏差和温度变化的影响,采用CSMC-HJ0.6μm CMOS工艺器件模型,用Cadence Spectres仿真器仿真了设计的自适应滤波器电路,仿真结果验证了设计原理和设计的电路。系统的最长学习时间为880个参考时钟周期。  相似文献
