In this paper, the fabrication and characterization of triple‐shape polymeric composites (TSPCs) that, unlike traditional shape memory polymers (SMPs), are capable of fixing two temporary shapes and recovering sequentially from the first temporary shape (shape 1) to the second temporary shape (shape 2), and eventually to the permanent shape (shape 3) upon heating, are reported. This is technically achieved by incorporating non‐woven thermoplastic fibers (average diameter ~760 nm) of a low‐Tm semicrystalline polymer into a Tg‐based SMP matrix. The resulting composites display two well‐separated transitions, one from the glass transition of the matrix and the other from the melting of the fibers, which are subsequently used for the fixing/recovery of two temporary shapes. Three thermomechanical programming processes with different shape fixing protocols are proposed and explored. The intrinsic versatility of this composite approach enables an unprecedented large degree of design flexibility for functional triple‐shape polymers and systems.  相似文献

In various applications from radar processing to mobile communication systems based on CDMA or OFDM, M-AR multichannel processes are often considered and may be combined with Kalman filtering. However, the estimations of the M-AR parameter matrices and the autocorrelation matrices of the additive noise and the driving process from noisy observations are key problems to be addressed. In this paper, we suggest solving them as an errors-in-variables issue. In that case, the noisy-observation autocorrelation matrix compensated by a specific diagonal block matrix and whose kernel is defined by the M-AR parameter matrices must be positive semi-definite. Hence, the parameter estimation consists in searching every diagonal block matrix that satisfies this property, in reiterating this search for a higher model order and then in extracting the solution that belongs to both sets. A comparative study is then carried out with existing methods including those based on the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) and the Sigma-Point Kalman Filters (SPKF). It illustrates the relevance and advantages of the proposed approaches.  相似文献

We study skew cyclic codes over a non-chain ring, which generalizes our previous results in IEICE Trans. on Fundamentals of Electronic Communications and Computer Sciences, 2015. We describe generator polynomi-als of skew cyclic codes over this ring and investigate the structural properties of skew cyclic codes over the ring by a decomposition theorem. The generator polynomial of the dual code of a skew cyclic code are obtained. Moreover, the idempotent generators of skew cyclic codes are consid-ered. Past evidence of suicidal contagion from news reports in the United States is based largely on national data prior to 1980 using proxies for suicide stories rather than local news sources. Our research examined more proximal effects of suicide news reporting for 4 months in 1993 in 6 U.S. cities controlling for a wide range of alternative sources of media and interpersonal influence. In addition, predictions for the effect based on suicide contagion theories were examined for 3 age groups (15–25, 25–44, and older than 44). Local television news was associated with increased incidence of deaths by suicide among persons younger than 25 years. Newspaper reports were associated with suicide deaths for both young persons and persons older than 44 years. An unexpected protective effect of television news reports was observed in the 25–44 age range; nevertheless, news reporting was associated with an aggregate increase in suicide deaths. The results support theories of media contagion but also suggest that media depiction can inhibit suicide among some audience members.  相似文献

Motion estimation is an important issue in radiation therapy of moving organs. In particular, motion estimates from 4-D imaging can be used to compute the distribution of an absorbed dose during the therapeutic irradiation. We propose a strategy and criteria incorporating spatiotemporal information to evaluate the accuracy of model-based methods capturing breathing motion from 4-D CT images. This evaluation relies on the identification and tracking of landmarks on the 4-D CT images by medical experts. Three different experts selected more than 500 landmarks within 4-D CT images of lungs for three patients. Landmark tracking was performed at four instants of the expiration phase. Two metrics are proposed to evaluate the tracking performance of motion-estimation models. The first metric cumulates over the four instants the errors on landmark location. The second metric integrates the error over a time interval according to an a priori breathing model for the landmark spatiotemporal trajectory. This latter metric better takes into account the dynamics of the motion. A second aim of this paper is to estimate the impact of considering several phases of the respiratory cycle as compared to using only the extreme phases (end-inspiration and end-expiration). The accuracy of three motion estimation models (two image registration-based methods and a biomechanical method) is compared through the proposed metrics and statistical tools. This paper points out the interest of taking into account more frames for reliably tracking the respiratory motion.  相似文献

This paper presents a new circuit architecture for turbo decoding, which achieves ultra high data rates when using product codes as error correcting codes. This architecture is able to decode product codes using binary BCH or m-ary Reed Solomon component codes. The major advantage of our full-parallel architecture is that it enables the memory block between each half-iteration to be removed. In fact, the proposed architecture opens the way to numerous applications such as optical transmission. In particular, our block turbo decoding architecture can support optical transmission at data rates above Gbit/s  相似文献

The use of two generalised carrier transport models to account for the ND−1 dependence of the specific contact resistance (ρc) of metal-semiconductor Ohmic contacts to n-type GaAs is proposed. Both models include the effects of thermionic emission and diffusion across the high-low barrier junction a priori. Calculations of ρc, and comparison with experimental data, show conclusively that thermionic emission is the dominant transport mechanism across the barrier. It is stressed that these models do not rely on prior choices of either of the transport processes. These conclusions are arrived at a posteriori.  相似文献
