In the last few years, several new algorithms based on graph cuts have been developed to solve energy minimization problems in computer vision. Each of these techniques constructs a graph such that the minimum cut on the graph also minimizes the energy. Yet, because these graph constructions are complex and highly specific to a particular energy function, graph cuts have seen limited application to date. In this paper, we give a characterization of the energy functions that can be minimized by graph cuts. Our results are restricted to functions of binary variables. However, our work generalizes many previous constructions and is easily applicable to vision problems that involve large numbers of labels, such as stereo, motion, image restoration, and scene reconstruction. We give a precise characterization of what energy functions can be minimized using graph cuts, among the energy functions that can be written as a sum of terms containing three or fewer binary variables. We also provide a general-purpose construction to minimize such an energy function. Finally, we give a necessary condition for any energy function of binary variables to be minimized by graph cuts. Researchers who are considering the use of graph cuts to optimize a particular energy function can use our results to determine if this is possible and then follow our construction to create the appropriate graph. In this paper, a new criterion for passivity of haptic devices is obtained. This criterion creates a relationship between Coulomb friction coefficient, viscous friction coefficient, sampling rate, and the maximum simulated stiffness. The process of derivation of the passivity criterion is described in detail. This criterion is improved compared with other existing criteria and predicts passivity in haptic rendering more accurately. In particular, for speeds of less than 5?cm/s, the new passivity criterion should replace the previous criteria to avoid unwanted vibrations of stiff virtual walls. Analytical and numerical investigations are presented to validate the new criterion. A specific trajectory is designed and the movement of the haptic robot is investigated on this trajectory to validate and compare this passivity criterion with the previous criteria. 相似文献

Dendritic growth of lithium (Li) has severely impeded the practical application of Li‐metal batteries. Herein, a 3D conformal graphene oxide nanosheet (GOn) coating, confined into the woven structure of a glass fiber separator, is reported, which permits facile transport of Li‐ions thought its structure, meanwhile regulating the Li deposition. Electrochemical measurements illustrate a remarkably enhanced cycle life and stability of the Li‐metal anode, which is explained by various microscopy and modeling results. Utilizing scanning electron microscopy, focused ion beam, and optical imaging, the formation of an uniform Li film on the electrode surface in the case of GO‐modified samples is revealed. Ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations suggest that Li‐ions initially get adsorbed to the lithiophilic GOn and then diffuse through defect sites. This delayed Li transfer eliminates the “tip effect” leading to a more homogeneous Li nucleation. Meanwhile, C? C bonds rupture observed in the GO during AIMD simulations creates more pathways for faster Li‐ions transport. In addition, phase‐field modeling demonstrates that mechanically rigid GOn coating with proper defect size (smaller than 25 nm) can physically block the anisotropic growth of Li. This new understanding is a significant step toward the employment of 2D materials for regulating the Li deposition. 相似文献

Among the most exciting advances in early vision has been the development of efficient energy minimization algorithms for pixel-labeling tasks such as depth or texture computation. It has been known for decades that such problems can be elegantly expressed as Markov random fields, yet the resulting energy minimization problems have been widely viewed as intractable. Recently, algorithms such as graph cuts and loopy belief propagation (LBP) have proven to be very powerful: for example, such methods form the basis for almost all the top-performing stereo methods. However, the tradeoffs among different energy minimization algorithms are still not well understood. In this paper we describe a set of energy minimization benchmarks and use them to compare the solution quality and running time of several common energy minimization algorithms. We investigate three promising recent methods graph cuts, LBP, and tree-reweighted message passing in addition to the well-known older iterated conditional modes (ICM) algorithm. Our benchmark problems are drawn from published energy functions used for stereo, image stitching, interactive segmentation, and denoising. We also provide a general-purpose software interface that allows vision researchers to easily switch between optimization methods. Synthesis of the optimum distillation column sequence (DCS), which incorporates a huge search space composed of both conventional and complex arrangements, is a highly complicated combinatorial problem in the field of chemical process design and optimisation. In this study, a novel procedure for the synthesis of optimum DCS proposed by Boozarjomehry et al. [Boozarjomehry et al., Can. J. Chem. Eng. 87, 477–492 (2009)] is expanded to include the complex distillation arrangements. The method is based on evolutionary algorithms, and the total annual cost (TAC) is the main criterion used to screen alternatives. Efficient procedure has been proposed for encoding mechanism to include and classify various complex arrangements together with conventional distillation columns. All columns existing in each DCS alternative are designed using the most recommended short‐cut methods to estimate the TAC of the DCS. Four standard benchmark case studies are carried out to clearly demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed method. The produced results for these problems indicate that the proposed method outperforms the other existing approaches in terms of flexibility, accuracy and comprehensiveness. © 2011 Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering 相似文献

The catalytic performance of cermets made of 10% nickel or nickel oxide supported on YSZ (yttria-stabilized zirconia) for chemical looping combustion (CLC) and steam reforming (SR) of methane at 700 °C is investigated. Steam reforming of methane over the reduced catalyst resulted in a syngas containing more than 70% hydrogen and about 15% carbon monoxide. Chemical looping combustion of methane with insufficient lattice oxygen could potentially lead to 40–65% hydrogen rich gas products. Prolonged induction period (e.g. 30–80 min) in reduction of nickel oxide by methane has been observed in the presence of steam. The span of induction period increases by increasing steam partial pressure. It is hypothesized that the delayed reduction of nickel oxide is related to the retarding effect of steam on autocatalytic reactions of methane and hydrogen with lattice oxygen of nickel oxide and the subsequent reforming reactions. 相似文献

Thermogravimetry analysis and gas chromatography techniques are used at different heating rates (from 5 to 50 K/min) to map all the products and to develop suitable kinetic models of biomass pyrolysis. A three-independent-parallel-reactions model is used to model kinetic of total devolatilization. This part accounts for the total char yield and devolatilization time. The evolutions of condensable vapors (tar and H2O) and non-condensable gases (H2, CH4, CO and CO2) are also studied using gas chromatography technique. It is shown that the final total yield of gases increases by increasing the heating rate, whereas those of tar decrease by increasing heating rate. A kinetic model was then proposed and the parameters for that were calculated, which can predict the change of the gases yields at different heating rates. The performance of the kinetic models was evaluated for other experimental works available in the literature or by exposing the biomass to different heating program. 相似文献

The study discussed the synthesis of silica sol using the sol-gel method, doped with two different amounts of Cu nanoparticles. Cotton fabric samples were impregnated by the prepared sols and then dried and cured. To block hydroxyl groups, some samples were also treated with hexadecyltrimethoxysilane. The average particle size of colloidal silica nanoparticles were measured by the particle size analyzer. The morphology, roughness, and hydrophobic properties of the surface fabricated on cotton samples were analyzed and compared via the scanning electron microscopy, the transmission electron microscopy, the scanning probe microscopy, with static water contact angle (SWC), and water shedding angle measurements. Furthermore, the antibacterial efficiency of samples was quantitatively evaluated using AATCC 100 method. The addition of 0.5% (wt/wt) Cu into silica sol caused the silica nanoparticles to agglomerate in more grape-like clusters on cotton fabrics. Such fabricated surface revealed the highest value of SWC (155° for a 10-μl droplet) due to air trapping capability of its inclined structure. However, the presence of higher amounts of Cu nanoparticles (2% wt/wt) in silica sol resulted in the most slippery smooth surface on cotton fabrics. All fabricated surfaces containing Cu nanoparticles showed the perfect antibacterial activity against both of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. 相似文献

The bacteriocin nisin has been extensively used as potential natural preservative in the food industry. However, antimicrobial activity of nisin due to its binding with food components and inactivation by enzymatic degradation is reduced when it is applied in food. Encapsulation of nisin is an efficient approach to overcome the problems related to the direct application of this antimicrobial peptide in foods. In this study, nisin was encapsulated in alginate‐high methoxy pectin (HMP) microparticles, and its release studies were performed in water to determine the diffusion and the kinetic behaviour of the matrix. Results showed that the nisin content had a significant influence on encapsulation efficiency (EE), loading capacity (LC) and microparticles size. The values of EE, LC and particle mean diameter were about 47–54%, 16–21% and 57–131 μm, respectively. The nisin‐loaded microparticles showed nearly spherical structure with fold on the surface, as displayed by scanning electron micrograph. Interaction between alginate and HMP was confirmed by the changes in the intensity and wave number of the stretching vibrations of the hydroxyl and carboxyl groups in alginate‐HMP microparticles FTIR spectra. Furthermore, the addition of nisin resulted in a markedly increase in intensity of carboxylic peak at 1620 cm?1, indicating the presence of nisin inside of the microparticles. The in vitro nisin release from these microparticles followed a sustained release profile consistent with a Fickian diffusion mechanism. 相似文献

In many mechanical devices with chaotic behavior, stabilizing unstable periodic orbits (UPOs) of the system has positive effects in the lifetime and effectiveness of these devices. In this study, a new non‐parallel distributed compensation (non‐PDC) observer‐based tracking controller is presented for Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems to control the chaotic behavior of such systems. Asymptotic stability synthesis of the closed‐loop system is investigated using a fuzzy Lyapunov function to derive less conservative conditions than common quadratic Lyapunov function‐based approaches. To tackle the main drawback of the fuzzy Lyapunov‐based approaches, which assume some upper bounds on the derivatives of the fuzzy grade functions, we propose a new procedure by considering a constraint on the control signal. The new design conditions are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The proposed control structure is applied to spinning disks in which chaos phenomena appear in lateral vibration. Simulation results are given to show the applicability of the proposed tracker to the UPO problem. 相似文献
