Summary This paper deals with the free non-symmetric vibration of deep spherical sandwich shells. The sandwich shell considered herein consists of three layers. A variational technique is utilized to obtain the equations of motion as well as the appropriate boundary conditions. The effects of transverse shear deformation and rotary inertia have been included in this analysis.New deformation functions have been introduced which considerably simplify the system of differential equations. The final solution is obtained in terms of Legendre functions.Numerical computations have been performed for the symmetric case and graphs are included to show the frequency variation with andh/R for various modes.  相似文献

Discrete‐time output regulation of linear systems with state and/or input constraints on magnitude is considered. Structural properties of linear plants are identified under which the so‐called constrained semi‐global and global output regulation problems are solvable. As in the case of continuous‐time systems, an important aspect of our development is a taxonomy of constraints showing a clear relationship between the constraint types and the output regulation results. Solvability conditions are developed for semi‐global and global output regulation problems. Appropriate regulators are constructed for problems that are solvable. Industrial continuous processes are usually operated under closed-loop control, yielding process measurements that are autocorrelated, cross correlated, and collinear. A statistical process monitoring (SPM) method based on state variables is introduced to monitor such processes. The statistical model that describes the in-control variability is based on a canonical variate (CV) state space model. The CV state variables are linear combinations of the past process measurements which explain the variability of the future measurements the most, and they are regarded as the principal dynamic dimensions. A T2 statistic based on the CV state variables is utilized for developing the SPM procedure. The CV state variables are also used for monitoring sensor reliability. An experimental application to a high temperature short time (HTST) pasteurization process illustrates the proposed methodology.  相似文献

This research is an effort towards providing higher level Design for Environment (DFE) tools for a broad industrial region. Issues ranging from the levels immediately above existing design tools, to the envisioned highest level for a broad geographical region are discussed. A tool for the regional planning of the DFE activities is proposed, considering a model construction based on material flows across the industry. The Multi-Lifecycle approach is supported by organizing the input/output flows for industries, potentially utilizing waste material, side products and recycling. Capitalizing on the conceptual integration of the design and process activities, an Abstract Design Environment is used for the design of the basically process oriented material flow tool. Within the context, the relations among design, process and flow-modeling concepts are discussed.  相似文献

The mode-based finite element formulation of the equations of motion is usually adopted for linear random vibration analysis (RVA). In general, the RVA of large systems requires a large number of numerical integrations which is very time-consuming for a reasonable level of desired accuracy. Moreover, conventional numerical integration methods may fail to converge when the integrands are highly oscillatory due to slow propagation velocities. In this paper, a robust general-purpose RVA integration technique which can overcome these drawbacks is presented. Multi-point base and nodal excitations including wave passage effect and frequency-independent spatial correlation can be taken into account in the analysis. The proposed technique is based on the closed-form solutions for polynomial-type power spectral density functions and has been verified to be efficient and accurate for many engineering problems. This paper describes the implementation details, presents two examples taken from engineering applications and demonstrates the dramatic time-saving in the computation compared to numerical integration solutions. Response statistics, such as standard deviation of structural responses, are computed and displayed over the entire structures for these examples.  相似文献

A technique for scheduling and processor allocation leading to the synthesis of integrated heterogeneous pipelined processing elements, implementing digital signal processing applications, is proposed. The proposed technique achieves efficient hardware implementations at the logic-level by minimizing the number of processing units used, without compromising the rate and delay optimality criteria.

The proposed algorithm is found to outperform algorithms resulting in homogeneous implementations, as it gives schedules with lower iteration periods, requires less hardware resources, and has lower time complexity at design time. In comparison with the already existing heterogeneous algorithms, the proposed algorithm produces schedules of lower time complexity and lower iteration period for some applications. The optimal performance of the proposed algorithm has been verified on several benchmarks.  相似文献

The assembly flowshop scheduling problem has been addressed recently in the literature. There are many problems that can be modeled as assembly flowshop scheduling problems including queries scheduling on distributed database systems and computer manufacturing. The problem has been addressed with respect to either makespan or total completion time criterion in the literature. In this paper, we address the problem with respect to a due date-based performance measure, i.e., maximum lateness. We formulate the problem and obtain a dominance relation. Moreover, we propose three heuristics for the problem: particle swarm optimization (PSO), Tabu search, and EDD. PSO has been used in the areas of function optimization, artificial neural network training, and fuzzy system control in the literature. In this paper, we show how it can be used for scheduling problems. We have conducted extensive computational experiments to compare the three heuristics along with a random solution. The computational analysis indicates that Tabu outperforms the others for the case when the due dates range is relatively wide. It also indicates that the PSO significantly outperforms the others for difficult problems, i.e., tight due dates. Moreover, for difficult problems, the developed dominance relation helps reduce error by 65%.  相似文献

This study utilizes remotely sensed pre- and post-disaster images in order to detect any change specifically associated with structural and major regional damage caused by natural disasters such as a strong earthquake. Currently, postdisaster reconnaissance is conducted using mostly ground-truth teams. Although by using this method high-resolution assessment can be provided, it is very time consuming, costly and sometimes not practical. This study investigates an unsupervised near near-time method of reconnaissance using a pair of coregistered remotely sensed images of the same scene acquired at different times as input. The output is an image (mostly binary) in which “changed” pixels are separated from “not-changed” ones. The approach is fully deterministic using principal component analysis, normalization and further setting a threshold to classify pixels. For verification, a set of multispectral images from Golcuk-Turkey 1999 earthquake was used. It is concluded the program generates very similar results as obtained by ground-truth teams.  相似文献

An essential requirement to better understand activity-based travel behavior (ABTB) at the disaggregate level is the development of a spatio-temporal model able to support queries related to activities of individuals or groups of individuals. This paper describes the development and implementation of a temporal extension to a geographic information system (GIS) object-oriented model for the modeling of the time path and the retrieval of its event chaining. In this approach, time path is formulated as a totally time ordered set composed by activity events and trip events, themselves organized into time ordered sets. As sets, the time path and its components can be searched using their respective indexes. A series of methods were built that implement temporal predicates as an interface to temporally query the database. A set of positional operator methods were also designed that transform temporal topological queries into retrieval functions based on set ordering indices. Taken together, the temporal predicates and the positional operator methods define a temporal query extension that meets the retrieval needs of an ABTB database.  相似文献

This paper deals with the problem of off-line handwritten text recognition. It presents a system of text recognition that exploits an original principle of adaptation to the handwriting to be recognized. The adaptation principle is based on the automatic learning, during the recognition, of the graphical characteristics of the handwriting. This on-line adaptation of the recognition system relies on the iteration of two steps: a word recognition step that allows to label the writer's representations (allographs) on the whole text and a re-evaluation step of character models. Tests carried out on a sample of 15 writers, all unknown by the system, show the interest of the proposed adaptation scheme since we obtain during iterations an improvement of recognition rates both at the letter and the word levels.  相似文献
