Morphological analysis of the nanocomposites showed that multi-wall carbon nanotubes were uniformly distributed in polypropylene. Nanoindentation creep and nano-impact tests were carried out. Several equations/models were used to analyze creep data. From creep test, hardness of the nanocomposites increased by 18 and 36% for C150P and C70P, respectively, compared to polypropylene, whereas elasticity also increased by 20 and 34%. From nano-impact test, hardness of the nanocomposites was also higher than that of neat polypropylene. However, hardness (dynamic/impact) values were slightly higher than the (quasi-static) hardness resulted from creep test. In addition, degree of crystallinity of nanocomposites also increased by 12.6 and 14.3%. 相似文献

The potentials of silty clay(SC), acquired from Chaman, Balochistan, were investigated as adsorbent for Ni(Ⅱ)and Cd(Ⅱ) removal from contaminated media. The influence of different operating factors like dose, pH, temperature, and time of contact was explored, and optimum values were noted under batch adsorption method. Isothermal study was conducted with varying concentrations of solutions on optimized conditions and different adsorption models i.e., Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin–Radushkevich(D–R) isotherm, which were employed to interpret the process. The isothermal data of both Ni(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) were well fitted to Langmuir isotherm suggesting the formation of monolayer of metal ions on silty clay. The values of adsorption capacity noted for Ni(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) were 3.603 mg·g~(-1) and 5.480 mg·g~(-)1, respectively. Kinetic studies affirmed that pseudo second order(PSO) kinetics was being obeyed by the removal of Ni(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ). Thermodynamic variables like free energy change(ΔG°), enthalpy change(ΔH°) and entropy change(ΔS°) were calculated. The negative value of ΔG° and the positive values of ΔH° and ΔS° unfolded that the removal process of both metal ions of by SC was spontaneous, endothermic and feasible. 相似文献

The literature is abundant with algorithms for determining separately the paths for the single terminal pair, paths for multiterminal pairs and cuts for a specified terminal pair of any network, from knowledge of the reliability logic diagram (RLD). However, very few methods are available as efficient algorithms for enumerating simultaneously the paths between any single terminal pair, paths for multiterminal pairs and cuts for the specified terminal pair.The present paper provides a conceptually simple and computationally efficient algorithm to obtain simultaneously the paths between any single pair of terminals, paths for multiterminal pairs and the cuts for the specified terminal pair of interest of any complex network. Recently, directional sensor networks have received a great deal of attention due to their wide range of applications in different fields. A unique characteristic of directional sensors is their limitation in both sensing angle and battery power, which highlights the significance of covering all the targets and, at the same time, extending the network lifetime. It is known as the target coverage problem that has been proved as an NP-complete problem. In this paper, we propose four learning automata-based algorithms to solve this problem. Additionally, several pruning rules are designed to improve the performance of these algorithms. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithms, several experiments were carried out. The theoretical maximum was used as a baseline to which the results of all the proposed algorithms are compared. The weldability of titanium and nickel using micro spot brazing technology was successfully investigated. Brazing was performed using a 4-kA welding current, 2-V voltage, 60-N load, and a 25–50-ms welding time. An alloy filler metal, specifically a 0.1-mm thick foil with a composition of 71Ag-28Cu-1Mg, was sandwiched between Ti and Ni. The three electrode copper tip shapes that were investigated in this study were circular-, rectangular-, and ring-shaped tips. The weldability of the joint was evaluated in terms of the fracture load, weld size, shear strength, and micro hardness. A high joint strength was obtained in the case of the 71Ag-28Cu-1Mg filler when a rectangular electrode tip face was used. 相似文献

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)/ graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) nanocomposite coatings were developed to reduce friction and wear in the absence of liquid lubrication. UHMWPE nanocomposite powders with different loadings (0.25, 1, and 2 wt.%) of GNPs were prepared and electrostatic spraying technique was then used to deposit the nanocomposite powders on aluminum alloy to form a thin coating. Friction and wear tests were conducted on the coatings against a flat-end pin, made of hardened tool steel to determine the best loading of GNPs. That was further tested to investigate the effect of sliding speed and contact pressure on its tribological properties and to establish coating operating limits. Results showed that UHMWPE nanocomposite coating reinforced with 1 wt.% GNPs showed the best tribological performance. It reduced wear rate by about 51% as compared to the pristine UHMWPE coating. The coating sustained a maximum sliding speed of 1 m/s at a contact pressure of 4 MPa equivalent to a pressure and velocity (PV) value of 4 MPa.m/s. 相似文献

Energy poverty is a well-established concept among energy and development specialists. International development organizations frequently cite energy-poverty alleviation as a necessary condition to reduce income poverty. Several approaches used to measure energy poverty over the past 20 years have defined the energy poverty line as the minimum quantity of physical energy needed to perform such basic tasks as cooking and lighting. This paper uses a demand-based approach to define the energy poverty line as the threshold point at which energy consumption begins to rise with increases in household income. At or below this threshold point, households consume a bare minimum level of energy and should be considered energy poor. This approach was applied using cross-sectional data from a comprehensive 2004 household survey representative of rural Bangladesh. The findings suggest that some 58 percent of rural households in Bangladesh are energy poor, versus 45 percent that are income poor. The findings also suggest that policies to support rural electrification and greater use of improved biomass stoves might play a significant role in reducing energy poverty. 相似文献

The Abu Dhabi solar desalination plant started operation in September 1984 and is still operating until now. The plant was designed as a pilot unit for the evaluation of the technical economic feasibility of such plants for supplying fresh water to remote arid coastal areas of the UAE. The aim was to evaluate the long-term system performance and reliability and determine the optimal operating strategy and maintenance schedule. The plant consists of three subsystems: the solar collector field, the heat accumulator and the seawater evaporator. The solar collector field and the heat accumulator has experienced only a small amount of performance degradation, however, the evaporator have suffered from about 25 percent degradation in performance and is currently in need of an acid and demister cleanings to bring its performance to its original level. 相似文献
