Although functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data are acquired as complex-valued images, traditionally most fMRI studies only use the magnitude of the data. FMRI analysis in the complex domain promises to provide more statistically significant information; however, the noisy nature of the phase poses a challenge for successful study of fMRI by complex-valued signal processing algorithms. In this paper, we introduce a physiologically motivated de-noising method that uses phase quality maps to successfully identify and eliminate noisy areas in the fMRI data so they can be used in individual and group studies. Additionally, we show how the developed de-noising method improves the results of complex-valued independent component analysis of fMRI data, a very successful tool for blind source separation of biomedical data.  相似文献

We study the problem of geographic multicast routing (GMR) in a wireless sensor network. In particular, we are interested in geographic routing solutions with a very limited control overhead and overall bandwidth consumption. Existing GMR protocols require nodes to periodically exchange beacon messages to gather information about the position of their neighbors. These beacons represent a waste of resources, specially in areas of the network with no active communications. Beacons also induce significant problems in real deployments such as interferences and collisions that cause inconsistencies in neighboring tables. In this paper we propose a new beacon-less geographic multicast routing protocol called BRUMA. Unlike previous solutions, BRUMA uses the propagation of data packets to opportunistically select next hops among those that are reachable from the sending node. In addition, we contribute a novel next hop selection function by which candidate next hops schedule their responses based on their progress along each of the branches of the multicast tree. This allows the protocol to overcome most of the issues of beacon-based solutions in real deployments such as collisions, low-quality links, etc. The results of our empirical tests in a real testbed as well as in simulations show that BRUMA achieves a higher packet delivery ratio and a lower overall bandwidth consumption than GMR, which is the protocol performing best among existing geographic multicast solutions.  相似文献

Solid‐state lithium metal (Li°) batteries (SSLMBs) are believed to be the most promising technologies to tackle the safety concerns and the insufficient energy density encountered in conventional Li‐ion batteries. Solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) inherently own good processability and flexibility, enabling large‐scale preparation of SSLMBs. To minimize the growth of Li° dendrites and cell polarization in SPE‐based SSLMBs, an additive‐containing single Li‐ion conductive SPE is reported. The characterization results show that a small dose of electrolyte additive (2 wt%) substantially increases the ionic conductivity of single Li‐ion conductive SPEs as well as the interfacial compatibility between electrode and SPE, allowing the cycling of SPE‐based cells with good electrochemical performance. This work may provide a paradigm shift on the design of highly cationic conductive electrolytes, which are essential for developing safe and high‐performance rechargeable batteries.  相似文献

This paper introduces a multisensor architecture to fuse data acquired from different sensors available in commodity smartphones in order to build accurate location-based services, and pursuing a good balance between accuracy and performance. Using scale invariant features from the images captured using the smartphone camera, we perform a matching process against previously obtained images to determine the current location of the device. Several refinements are introduced to improve the performance and the scalability of our proposal. Location fingerprinting, based on IEEE 802.11, will be used to determine a cluster of physical points, or zone, where the device seems to be according to the received signal strength. In this way, we will reduce the number of images to analyze to those contained in the tentative zone. Additionally, accelerometers will also be considered in order to improve the system performance, by means of a motion estimator. This set of techniques enables a wide range of location-based applications.  相似文献

The ability to process and dimensionally scale field‐effect transistors with and on paper and to integrate them as a core component for low‐power‐consumption analog and digital circuits is demonstrated. Low‐temperature‐processed p‐ and n‐channel integrated oxide thin‐film transistors in the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) inverter architecture are seamlessly layered on mechanically flexible, low‐cost, recyclable paper substrates. The possibility of building these circuits using low‐temperature processes opens the door to new applications ranging from smart labels and sensors on clothing and packaging to electronic displays printed on paper pages for use in newspapers, magazines, books, signs, and advertising billboards. Because the CMOS circuits reported constitute fundamental building blocks for analog and digital electronics, this development creates the potential to have flexible form factor computers seamlessly layered onto paper. The holistic approach of merging low‐power circuitry with a recyclable substrate is an important step towards greener electronics.  相似文献

A study of the electrodynamical properties of a Ka-band gyrotron open resonator was experimentally conducted. Experiments were accomplished to measure resonant frequencies and their respective loaded quality factors for TE modes in the frequency range from 26 to 40 GHz. In particular, a perturbation technique was used to determine the axial, radial and azimuthal electric field profiles, as an identification method of the TE021 mode operating around 35 GHz. In any experimental event, good agreement with the values predicted by theory was found.  相似文献

A fourth-order low-pass channel filter for a zero-IF Bluetooth receiver is presented. It employs two cascaded multiple feedback biquads and active resistors made by quasi-floating gate MOS transistors in triode region for highly linear continuous tuning. Power consumption is strongly reduced using a gain-enhanced class-AB single-stage opamp together with a filter topology that only requires a single opamp for each biquad. The filter has been fabricated in a 0.18 μm CMOS technology and consumes 290 μW from a 1.2 V supply.  相似文献
