The effect of additives on paste rheology was investigated for preparation of porous ceramics with unidirectionally aligned cylindrical pores. Ammonium poly-carboxylic acid (APA) used as a dispersant and it was adsorbed on alumina powder surface. The adsorption isotherm of APA was fitted by Langmuir equation. The saturated monolayer adsorption was 5.9 mg/g. The apparent viscosity became a minimum at 0.8 mass % of APA corresponding to 71.2 mPa⋅s. This APA amount of 5.6 mg/g, is in good agreement with the observed APA amount. Since the nylon 66 fibers (0–35 vol. %) mixed with the alumina powder have a strong interaction with each other, they became twisted and agglomerated. This agglomeration increased with increasing fiber content but decreased by adding oleic acid. The pastes with added oleic acid were capable of being extruded at higher pressure. The obtained porous alumina ceramics showed highly oriented cylindrical pores parallel to the extrusion direction. The pore orientation was higher in the oleic acid added pastes than those without oleic acid. The added nylon 66 fibers are mostly converted to pores while maintaining the original shape after sintering. The pore size distribution of the obtained porous ceramics measured by mercury porosimetry method showed a peak at about 4 μm which is apparently smaller than that observed in the SEM photographs and the obtained result is considered to be corresponding to the necks formed by fiber contacts.  相似文献

The side reactions of triclosan (2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenyl ether, TC) and chlorine in the presence of sodium chloride were investigated. In the absence of sodium chloride, three chloro-derivatives of TC, 2',3,4,4'-tetrachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3-Cl-TC), 2',4,4',5-tetrachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (5-Cl-TC), and 2',3,4,4',5-pentachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3,5-Cl(2)-TC) were formed, whereas in the presence of sodium chloride, 3-bromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3-Br-TC), 5-bromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (5-Br-TC), (3 or 5)-bromo-2',4,4',(5 or 3)-chloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether ((3,5)-(BrCl)-TC), and 3,5-dibromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3,5-Br(2)-TC) were additionally formed. Radiochemical neutron activation analysis indicated that 1g of commercially available sodium chloride contained 73 microg of bromide and the bromide ion was determined to be the source of the side reactions. The rate of decrease of TC due to reaction with chlorine was greatly accelerated by the presence of bromide ion in the system: the rate with only 1 x 10(-5) M bromide ion was three times the rate in the absence of bromide.  相似文献

We previously reported that well-dispersed amorphous nanosilicas with particle size 70 nm (nSP70) penetrate skin and produce systemic exposure after topical application. These findings underscore the need to examine biological effects after systemic exposure to nanosilicas. The present study was designed to examine the biological effects. BALB/c mice were intravenously injected with amorphous nanosilicas of sizes 70, 100, 300, 1000 nm and then assessed for survival, blood biochemistry, and coagulation. As a result, injection of nSP70 caused fatal toxicity, liver damage, and platelet depletion, suggesting that nSP70 caused consumptive coagulopathy. Additionally, nSP70 exerts procoagulant activity in vitro associated with an increase in specific surface area, which increases as diameter reduces. In contrast, nSP70-mediated procoagulant activity was absent in factor XII-deficient plasma. Collectively, we revealed that interaction between nSP70 and intrinsic coagulation factors such as factor XII, were deeply related to nSP70-induced harmful effects. In other words, it is suggested that if interaction between nSP70 and coagulation factors can be suppressed, nSP70-induced harmful effects may be avoided. These results would provide useful information for ensuring the safety of nanomaterials (NMs) and open new frontiers in biological fields by the use of NMs.  相似文献

Activated carbons (AC) impregnated with the hygroscopic salt CaCl2 were synthesized to enhance the amount of water vapor adsorbed at low relative pressure (P/P0). Possible applications for these materials are in adsorption heat pumps and desiccant air conditioners. The ACs were synthesized from tissue paper by chemical activation with K2CO3 and the porous properties were investigated of a number of materials prepared under a variety of activation conditions. The highest specific surface area (SBET) (1820 m2/g) was obtained from the sample prepared with a K2CO3/sample ratio = 1/1 by mass, activated at 900 °C for 2 h under flowing N2 (2 L/min). Impregnation with CaCl2 was performed using 2.4-6.5 M CaCl2 solutions and a solution volume equal to the pore volume of the AC. XPS surface chemical analysis revealed that the impregnated CaCl2 was mostly successfully impregnated into the pores while the surface CaCl2 increased gradually with increasing amount of impregnation. The adsorption of water vapor in the P/P0 range 0.1-0.3 (ΔW0.1-0.3) was dramatically increased by CaCl2 impregnation, the ΔW0.1-0.3 value reaching 0.52 g/g in the sample impregnated with 70 mass% CaCl2; this value is much higher than previously reported ΔW0.1-0.3 values.  相似文献

We have carried out the optical observation, electrical conductivity and 205Tl NMR measurements, and subsequently investigated the origin of the large conductivity above ferroelastic phase transition temperature Tc (=661 K) on the basis of the domain structure and the crystal structure. Electrical conductivity exhibits the discontinuous increase around Tc with increasing temperature and becomes approximately 5 × 10−3 S m−1 above Tc. Moreover, from the 205Tl NMR measurements, it is found that mobile Tl ions exist above Tc. Furthermore, from the analysis of the domain structure based on the crystal structure in the low-temperature ferroelastic phase, it is also found that the anomalously large fluctuations of SeO4 tetrahedrons exist above Tc. It is deduced from these results that the high electrical conductivity above Tc is caused by the mobile Tl ions closely related to the anomalously large fluctuations of SeO4 tetrahedrons accompanied by the ferroelastic phase transition.  相似文献

We have measured electrical resistivity, Hall coefficient, thermoelectric power, and magnetization for charge-density wave (CDW) material 1T-TaS2 single crystals grown by varying the excess sulfur content x es. We have revealed that a small mid-gap state is formed inside the Mott gap and that anomalous low temperature transport is not governed by the Mott gap state itself but by the mid-gap state. The electric properties of the mid-gap state are modified by increasing x es (or hole doping), and we have found the insulator-metal transition occurs by hole doping below 60K.  相似文献

Porous ceramics with unidirectionally oriented pores have been prepared by various methods such as anodic oxidation, templating using wood, unidirectional solidification, extrusion, etc. The templating method directly replicates the porous microstructure of wood to prepare porous ceramics, whereas the extrusion method mimics the microstructures of tracheids and xylems in trees. These two methods are therefore the main focus of this review as they provide good examples of the preparation of functional porous ceramics with properties replicating nature. The well-oriented cylindrical through-hole pores prepared by the extrusion method using fibers as the pore formers provide excellent permeability together with high mechanical strength. Examples of applications of these porous ceramics are given, including their excellent capillary lift of over 1 m height which could be used to counteract urban heat island phenomena, and other interesting properties arising from anisotropic unidirectional porous structures.  相似文献

YVO4:Bi3+,Eu3+ nanophosphor synthesized by the citrate route shows the photobleaching behavior, i.e., the decrease in photoluminescence intensity under the continuous irradiation of excitation light. This photobleaching property is remarkably suppressed by the washing post-treatment combined with centrifugation and the hydrothermal post-treatment. A relation between the fraction of photobleach and the amount of citrate ions coordinating to metallic ions at the surface of nanoparticles verifies that the photobleaching behavior of YVO4:Bi3+,Eu3+ nanophosphor originates from the redox reaction between the citrate ions and V5+ in YVO4 host crystal. The long-term light fastness test reveals that the hydrothermally treated YVO4:Bi3+,Eu3+ nanophosphor has sufficient photostability for practical use over 15 years outside.  相似文献
