A survey of 887 employees in a German government agency assessed the antecedents and consequences of idiosyncratic arrangements individual workers negotiated with their supervisors. Work arrangements promoting the individualization of employment conditions, such as part-time work and telecommuting, were positively related to the negotiation of idiosyncratic deals ("i-deals"). Worker personal initiative also had a positive effect on i-deal negotiation. Two types of i-deals were studied: flexibility in hours of work and developmental opportunities. Flexibility i-deals were negatively related and developmental i-deals positively related to work-family conflict and working unpaid overtime. Developmental i-deals were also positively related to increased performance expectations and affective organizational commitment, while flexibility i-deals were unrelated to either. Film cooling is among the basic methods used for thermal protection of blades in modern high-temperature gas turbines. Results of computer simulation of film cooling with coolant injection via a row of conventional inclined holes or a row of holes in a trench are presented in this paper. The ANSYS CFX 14 commercial software package was used for CFD-modeling. The effect is studied of the mainstream turbulence on the film cooling efficiency for the blowing ratio range between 0.6 and 2.3 and three different turbulence intensities of 1, 5, and 10%. The mainstream velocity was 150 and 400 m/s, while the temperatures of the mainstream and the injected coolant were 1100 and 500°C, respectively. It is demonstrated that, for the coolant injection via one row of trenched holes, an increase in the mainstream turbulence intensity reduces the film cooling efficiency in the entire investigated range of blowing ratios. It was revealed that freestream turbulence had varied effects on the film cooling efficiency depending on the blowing ratio and mainstream velocity in a blade channel. Thus, an increase in the mainstream turbulence intensity from 1 to 10% decreases the surface-averaged film cooling efficiency by 3–10% at a high mainstream velocity (400 m/s) in the blade channel and by 12–23% at a moderate velocity (of 150 m/s). Here, lower film cooling efficiencies correspond to higher blowing ratios. The effect of mainstream turbulence intensity on the film cooling efficiency decreases with increasing the mainstream velocity in the modeled channel for both investigated configurations.  相似文献

The synthesis times required to produce high energy density compounds (C2B4H2)n and (C2B10H4)n by gas phase pyrolysis of the carboranes C2B4H6 and C2B10H12, respectively, have been measured at 1150–2000 K and carborane pressures of (0.3–3.0)⋅10−3 MPa. Kinetic model simulations of the synthesis have been performed. The temperatures, carborane pressures, and synthesis times required to produce small‐scale (C2B4H2)n and (C2B10H4)n particles of 10 to 30 nm diameter are determined.  相似文献

The response of pure cultures of Escherichia coli, Candida parapsilosis, and bacterial virus f2 to ultraviolet light radiation was studied in a batch reactor and in a completely mixed, flow-through annular reactor. Two kinetic models were tested as to their ability to scale between batch results and flow-through reactor results. Using the respective best-fit kinetic parameters for each model from batch data, the response of the organisms in the flow-through reactor could be predicted by using either multi-target kinetics or series-event kinetics. The series-event model was judged to be superior to multi-target kinetics because it better represents the known mechanism of u.v. inactivation than does multi-target kinetics. Since two different models can be used to describe the data, the simple agreement between experimental data and model predictions does not necessarily prove that either model is mechanistically correct.  相似文献

Doping of semiconductors enables fine control over the excess charge carriers, and thus the overall electronic properties, crucial to many technologies. Controlled doping in lead‐halide perovskite semiconductors has thus far proven to be difficult. However, lower dimensional perovskites such as nanocrystals, with their high surface‐area‐to‐volume ratio, are particularly well‐suited for doping via ground‐state molecular charge transfer. Here, the tunability of the electronic properties of perovskite nanocrystal arrays is detailed using physically adsorbed molecular dopants. Incorporation of the dopant molecules into electronically coupled CsPbI3 nanocrystal arrays is confirmed via infrared and photoelectron spectroscopies. Untreated CsPbI3 nanocrystal films are found to be slightly p‐type with increasing conductivity achieved by incorporating the electron‐accepting dopant 2,3,5,6‐tetrafluoro‐7,7,8,8‐tetracyanoquinodimethane (F4TCNQ) and decreasing conductivity for the electron‐donating dopant benzyl viologen. Time‐resolved spectroscopic measurements reveal the time scales of Auger‐mediated recombination in the presence of excess electrons or holes. Microwave conductance and field‐effect transistor measurements demonstrate that both the local and long‐range hole mobility are improved by F4TCNQ doping of the nanocrystal arrays. The improved hole mobility in photoexcited p‐type arrays leads to a pronounced enhancement in phototransistors.  相似文献

With the guideline 2000/60/EG, which called for the creation of a framework on water policy, the environmental policy of the European Community took on a new dimension. The goal of the guideline is (among others) the creation of a framework for the protection of inland surface waters, transitional waters, coastal waters and groundwater in order to avoid their deterioration; and to protect and improve the status of aquatic ecosystems, their associated land ecosystems directly dependent on them, and wetlands in terms of their water budget. Thanks to various forms of use, e.g. hydropower production, flood protection and ship traffic, especially major European rivers like the Danube, Rhine and Elbe have changed massively from their original typological characteristics. Reference conditions are hardly anywhere to be found, many native species are now extinct, and river biotopes are often dominated by invasive species. The size and depth of these rivers also pose challenges in terms of taking samples, and it has also become apparent that all methods currently used to assess rivers’ ecological status focus solely on the main channels; the various habitats to be found in large rivers’ riparian systems aren’t taken into account. However, there is international consensus that these systems are key elements in rivers’ processes and biodiversity, and as such are significant for the continuing functionality of major rivers. In the context of an Austrian Ministry of Life-funded research project, the Institute of Hydrobiology and Aquatic Ecosystem Management’s Working Group on Benthic Ecology and Ecological Status Assessment, together with the University of Vienna and the Environment Agency Austria, is currently working to develop a practice-oriented riparian zone index based on macrozoobenthos as an indicator of quality. To date, Europe has no Water Framework Directive-compliant assessment systems for riparian zones. Given the fact that established methods are limited to river’s main channels, precluding a holistic view of and approach to river ecosystems, this project represents a pioneering work in the field of European water resource management.  相似文献
