In many service and industrial applications of the facility location problem, the number of required facilities along with allocation of the customers to the facilities are the two major questions that need to be answered. In this paper, a facility location problem with stochastic customer demand and immobile servers is studied. Two objectives considered in this problem are: (1) minimizing the average customer waiting time and (2) minimizing the average facility idle-time percentage. We formulate this problem using queuing theory and solve the model by a genetic algorithm within the desirability function framework. Several examples are presented to demonstrate the applications of the proposed methodology.  相似文献

Sensory evaluation is the application of knowledge and skills derived from several different scientific and technical disciplines, physiology, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, human behavior, and knowledge about product preparation practices. This research was aimed to evaluate aftertaste sensory attributes of commercial non-alcoholic beer brands (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7) by several chemometric tools. These attributes were bitter, sour, sweet, fruity, liquorice, artificial, body, intensity and duration. The results showed that the data are in a good consistency. Therefore, the brands were statistically classified in several categories. Linear techniques as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) were performed over the data that revealed all types of beer are well separated except a partial overlapping between zones corresponding to P4, P6 and P7. In this research, for the confirmation of the groups observed in PCA and in order to calculate the errors in calibration and in validation, PLS-DA technique was used. Based on the quantitative data of PLS-DA, the classification accuracy values were ranked within 49-86%. Moreover, it was found that the classification accuracy of LDA was much better than PCA. It shows that this trained sensory panel can discriminate among the samples except an overlapping between two types of beer. Also, two types of artificial networks were used: Probabilistic Neural Networks (PNN) with Radial Basis Functions (RBF) and FeedForward Networks with Back Propagation (BP) learning method. The highest classification success rate (correct predicted number over total number of measurements) of about 97% was obtained for RBF followed by 94% for BP. The results obtained in this study could be used as a reference for electronic nose and electronic tongue in beer quality control.  相似文献

A novel approach to characterise the model prediction errors using a Gaussian mixture model is proposed. The motivation for this work lies behind many data models that are developed through prediction error minimisation with the assumption of a normal noise distribution. When the noise is non-normal, which may often be the case in complicated data modelling scenarios, the model prediction errors may contain rich information, which can be further exploited for model refinement and improvement. The key contents presented in this paper include: choosing the relevant variables to form the error data, optimising the number of Gaussian components required for the error data modelling, and fitting the Gaussian mixture parameters using an expectation-maximisation algorithm. Application of the proposed method for further model improvement, within the framework of hybrid deterministic/stochastic modelling, is also discussed. Preliminary results on the real industrial Charpy impact energy data for heat-treated steels show its effectiveness for model error characterisation, and the potential for model performance improvement in terms of prediction accuracy as well as providing accurate prediction confidence intervals.  相似文献

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were used to prepare natural rubber (NR) nanocomposites. Our first efforts to achieve nanostructures in MWNTs/NR nanocomposites were formed by incorporating carbon nanotubes in a polymer solution and subsequently evaporating the solvent. Using this technique, nanotubes can be dispersed homogeneously in the NR matrix in an attempt to increase the mechanical properties of these nanocomposites. The properties of the nanocomposites such as tensile strength, tensile modulus, elongation at break and hardness were studied. Mechanical test results show an increase in the initial modulus for up to 12 times in relation to pure NR. In addition to mechanical testing, the dispersion state of the MWNTs into NR studied by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) in order to understand the morphology of the resulting system  相似文献

For composites to compete in vehicle suspension applications, it is essential to control their failure by utilising their strength in principal direction instead of shear. This can be achieved efficiently by employing a new configuration instead of existing one. This study marries between an elliptical configuration and the woven roving composites.

In this paper, the influence of ellipticity ratio on performance of woven roving wrapped composite elliptical springs has been investigated both experimentally and numerically. A series of experiments was conducted for composite elliptical springs with ellipticity ratios (a/b) ranging from one to two. Typical failure histories of their failure mechanism are presented and discussed. In general, this study demonstrated that composites elliptical spring can be used for light and heavy trucks and meet the requirements, together with substantial weight saving. The results showed that the ellipticity ratio significantly influenced the spring rate and failure loads. Composite elliptic spring with ellipticity ratios of a/b 2.0 displayed the highest spring rate.  相似文献

Carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNTFETs) have been studied in recent years as a potential alternative to CMOS devices, because of the capability of ballistic transport. The ambipolar behavior of Schottky barrier CNTFETs limits the performance of these devices. A double gate design is proposed to suppress this behavior. In this structure the first gate located near the source contact controls carrier injection and the second gate located near the drain contact suppresses parasitic carrier injection. To avoid the ambipolar behavior it is necessary that the voltage of the second gate is higher or at least equal to the drain voltage. The behavior of these devices has been studied by solving the coupled Schrödinger-Poisson equation system. We investigated the effect of the second gate voltage on the performance of the device and finally the advantages and disadvantages of these options are discussed.  相似文献

This paper introduces a new mechanism which is designed for the transmission of power between two intersecting shafts. The mechanism consists of one drive shaft and one driven shaft, six guide arms, and three connecting arms. The intersecting angle between the input shaft and the output shaft can be varied up to 135° while the velocity ratio between the two shafts remains constant. The research also includes a kinematic analysis and a simulation using Visual NASTRAN, Autodesk Inventor Dynamic and COSMOS Motion. The softwares showed that this mechanism can transmit constant velocity ratios at all angles between two shafts. By comparing the graphs of analytical analysis and simulation analysis, validity of equations was proved. Finally, by fabrication and evaluation of the mechanism it was shown that this mechanism can transmit constant velocity practically.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of geometrical and physical parameters on failure modes and failure loads in unidirectional polymeric matrix composites with two serial pin loaded holes, analytically and experimentally. It is assumed that all of unidirectional fibers in the laminate lie in one direction while loaded by a load p 0 at infinity, parallel to the direction of the fibers. To derive equilibrium equations based on a Shear-Lag theory, a rectangular arrangement of fibers is considered and with the proper use of boundary and boundness conditions, stress and displacement fields are computed within the laminate, along with the surrounding pinholes. Finally by using the Hashin criterion failure modes and failure loads are estimated. To validate analytical results based on shear-lag theory, an experimental program is carried out. A very good agreement is observed between two procedures. Based on results, in small sizes of two pins, the dominant failure mode is bearing and with the increasing of hole sizes, failure modes are changed to tension and shear modes.  相似文献

Workplace spirituality has gained attention as it is proven to be a contributor to organizational performance improvement. This paper aims to assess the impact of human resource spirituality on the success of organizational strategic change projects. The success of the projects is measured by the well-known criterion of deviation from the planned budget cost. Data collection is based on a questionnaire survey of 252 personnel in 36 large and medium-scale organizational change projects in power industry. The paper proposes an integrated algorithm of fuzzy data envelopment analysis (FDEA) and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for measuring the pure effect of human resource spirituality on the success of organizational change projects in the power industry. It also achieves a verified tool capable of addressing complexity, nonlinearity, ambiguity, and fuzziness for measuring spirituality of human resources in the projects. Results show that spirituality of the project team has a significant effect on project success.  相似文献

This study has been carried out to investigate the incorporation of Iron(II) sulfate as an additive of electrolyte on formed AA1010 aluminum alloy, using plasma electrolytic oxidation method in silicate-based electrolytes containing Iron(II) sulfate. In order to fabricate nanocomposite coating, silicon nitride nanopowder was added to electrolyte. The effects of iron(II) sulfate additive on the voltage-time trend, microstructure, compositions, wear, and corrosion resistances of PEO coatings were investigated. In addition, current density and concentration of additive were studied as parameters that were effective on coating. Results showed that although FeSO4 enters to the coating structure, but it does not develop a new phase. The corrosion and wear behavior of coated samples with FeSO4 indicate an improvement as compared to those without additive.  相似文献
