The response characteristics of two tomographic systems were compared for imaging of positron emitters: a) a SPECT system with a 3/8 in crystal and 511 keV detector shielding, equipped with a specially designed 511 keV collimator, and b) a PET V system using coincidence detection. SPECT transverse plane resolution was 19 mm FWHM and 35 mm FWTM for a radius of rotation of 16 cm. Corresponding resolution for PET was 14 mm FWHM and 28 mm FWTM. Transverse images through a phantom containing cylindrical sources of various cross sections and uniform activity were obtained for each detector. The measured count density or recovery coefficient was found to decrease with source size, the dependence being similar for both systems. The theoretical values for recovery coefficients were calculated by convolution of a Gaussian fit to the SPECT resolution (FWHM, FWTM) values with the uniform cross section of each source. This simple mathematical model confirmed that the recovery coefficient dependence on source size was primarily related to the limited resolution of the detector. Experimental measurements demonstrated that the SPECT resolution for volume sources was sufficient for quantitation, although some limitations exist with respect to source sizes smaller than the detector resolution.  相似文献

Interactive rigid body simulation is an important part of many modern computer tools, which no authoring tool nor game engine can do without. Such high‐performance computer tools open up new possibilities for changing how designers, engineers, modelers and animators work with their design problems. This paper is a self contained state‐of‐the‐art report on the physics, the models, the numerical methods and the algorithms used in interactive rigid body simulation all of which have evolved and matured over the past 20 years. Furthermore, the paper communicates the mathematical and theoretical details in a pedagogical manner. This paper is not only a stake in the sand on what has been done, it also seeks to give the reader deeper insights to help guide their future research.  相似文献

The kinetics of diffusion of water from different activity vapors and liquid phase have been investigated in glassy amorphous poly(aryl ether ether ketcne) (PEEK) films at the temperature of 60°C and in glassy semicrystalline PEEK sheets at different temperatures, respectively. In the case of the amorphous PEEK films (250 μm thick) the data at low activity levels were interpreted by means of a purely Fickian mechanism. At higher activity levels the material has shown the presence of a relaxation process; in this case the data have been interpreted using a model proposed by Berens and Hopfenberg. Equilibrium sorption isotherm is also reported. Liquid water sorption in semicrystalline (30%) PEEK sheets (2 mm thick) has been determined to follow the classical Fickian mechanism. The water uptake values obtained for both amorphous and semicrystalline PEEK, confirm the good moisture and liquid water resistance of this kind of high performance thermoplastic polymer.  相似文献

A comparative study of two ethylene‐propylene‐diene rubbers (EPDM) polymerized by both conventional (Ziegler–Natta catalysts) and new techniques (metallocene catalysts) is presented. For this purpose, thermoplastic elastomers based on isotactic polypropylene (iPP) and EPDM blends at different percentages were prepared and their properties examined. In particular, the processing behavior and mechanical properties are reported. So, the flow properties analyzed by torque value, melt index, and rheological study reveal that the blends containing EPDM synthesized by metallocene catalyst present a smaller viscosity, thus offering better processing behavior. On the other hand, the mechanical properties show that metallocene EPDM rubbers give rise to more elastic materials with a higher deformation at break and resilience as well as a lower compression set. Moreover, the effectiveness of these innovative EPDM rubbers as impact modifiers for PP is demonstrated. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 85: 25–37, 2002  相似文献

Docosahexaenoic acid (22∶6n−3) can be synthesized in the liver and/or brain from α-linolenic acid (18∶3n−3) and is required in large amounts in structural membranes of developing brain and retina. The adequacy and efficacy of formulas containing 18∶3n−3 and/or fish oil in providing 22∶6n−3 for deposition was investigated in piglets fed formula from birth to 15 days. The test formulas contained high (HL) or low (LL) 18∶3n−3 (3.9 or 0.7% of the total formula fatty acids, respectively), or low 18∶3n−3 plus fish oil (LL+FO) to provide C20 and C22 n−3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (0.8% of total fatty acids). Fatty acid analyses of synaptic plasma membrane and retina ethanolamine phospholipids (EPL), which are especially enriched in 22∶6n−3, were compared to those of 15-day-old piglets fed sow milk (SM). Feeding LL resulted in lower 22∶6n−3 in synaptic plasma membrane. Fatty acid levels in HL and LL+FO piglets were equivalent to SM, with the exception of lower 22∶5n−3 in the synaptic plasma membrane of LL+FO and in the retina of HL and LL+FO-fed piglets. Levels of 22∶4n−6 were also lower in the retina of the LL+FO group. The results suggest formula 18∶3n−3 is at least 24% as effective as C20 and C22 n−3 fatty acids as a source of membrane 22∶6n−3. This study shows dietary 18∶3n−3, as the only n−3 fatty acid, can support deposition of comparable percentage of 22∶6n−3 to natural milk. Fish oil also supported tissue levels of 22∶6n−3 similar to natural milk; however, lower 22∶4n−6 may indicate possible inhibitory effects on n−6 metabolism. Given a flow field parallel to isophote normals, a normal flow field, we seek a unobservable tangential field as the minimum of a general energy functional of the total field. We generalize existing methods to any linear, differential operator order on the combined field while keeping the projection onto the isophote normal constant. We discuss invariant flow fields, present a novel iterative solution based on Euler-Lagrange equations, prove continuous convergence, and give synthetic examples for common energy functionals. Possible uses are: estimating physical flow in image sequences, estimating human growth processes, and co-warping textures in animation sequences.  相似文献

We have examined the utility of a gas-filled, Nd:YAG-laser-pumped Raman shifter as a possible broad-spectrum light source. Six to nine new output frequencies with pulse energies above 1 μJ are produced when a pure-hydrogen or pure-methane Raman shifter is pumped with 40 mJ of secondharmonic, 20 mJ of third-harmonic, or 11 mJ of fourth-harmonic pump pulse energy. Optimum output occurs at pressures of approximately 10 atm for the pure-gas experiments. We also report the output frequencies and pulse energies of a mixed hydrogen-methane Raman shifter pumped by 20 mJ of the third harmonic of the laser for various proportions of the two gases at pressures up to nearly 20 atm. Depending on composition and pressure, over a dozen new output lines with pulse energies over 1 μJ can be produced. We discuss the nonlinear processes involved, the optimum operating conditions, and the suitability of the source for our application of groundwater monitoring.  相似文献

A new methodology for the calibration of bond microparameters in rocks represented by a package of joined random spherical particles in the discrete element method (DEM) framework is presented. Typically, calibration is achieved through a trial-and-error procedure using several DEM simulations of uniaxial compressive tests (UCTs). The bond calibration model (BCM) does not need a time-dependent UCT-DEM simulation to establish the relation between the microproperties of the bond and the macroproperties of the rock specimen. The BCM uses matrices to describe the interaction forces exerted by bonds and, by means of an assembly process similar to the finite element method, it can describe the complex network of bonds, enabling the model to capture small variations in particle size and bond distribution as demonstrated in this work. In this work, the BCM is presented and compared with UCT simulations performed using Esys Particle software. Multiple simulations are done with constant bond properties and different particle size ratios (\(D_{MAX}/D_{MIN})\) that cause small variations in the specimen’s Young’s modulus; these variations are well captured by the BCM with an error of <10%.  相似文献

We present a new temperature compensation system for microresonator-based frequency references. It consists of a phase-locked loop (PLL) whose inputs are derived from two microresonators with different temperature coefficients of frequency. The resonators are suspended within an encapsulated cavity and are heated to a constant temperature by the PLL controller, thereby achieving active temperature compensation. We show repeated real-time measurements of three 1.2-MHz prototypes that achieve a frequency stability of $pm$ 1 ppm from $-20 ^{circ}hbox{C}$ to $+80 ^{circ}hbox{C}$, as well as a technique to reduce steady-state frequency errors to $pm$0.05 ppm using multipoint calibration.$hfill$[2009-0074]   相似文献
