Agave tequilana bagasse is a suitable lignocellulosic residue for energy production. However, the presence of lignin and the heterogeneous structure of hemicellulose may hinder the availability of polysaccharides. In this work, the pretreatment of A. tequilana bagasse with alkaline hydrogen peroxide (AHP) followed by enzymatic saccharification with hemicellulases and cellulases was assessed for the removal of lignin and extraction of fermentable sugars, respectively. Results of the AHP pretreatment indicated that it is possible to attain up to 97% delignification and recover 88% of cellulose and hemicellulose after only 1.5 h of treatment. Regarding the saccharification process, the total sugar yield and productivity were both increased by 2-fold using an enzymatic mixture (cellulases + hemicellulases) compared to single enzyme hydrolysis (cellulases), evidencing synergism. Further evaluation of the hydrolyzates as substrate for hydrogen and methane production, resulted in yields 1.5 and 3.6-times (215.14 ± 13 L H2 and 393.4 ± 13 L CH4 per kg bagasse, respectively) superior to those obtained with hydrolyzates of non-pretreated bagasse processed with a single enzyme. Overall, using AHP pretreatment and subsequent hydrolysis with enzymatic mixtures improves the saccharification of A. tequilana bagasse enhancing the production of hydrogen and methane.  相似文献

Desalination driven by renewable energies is an interesting technology in isolated coastal areas. Its feasibility and reliability are guaranteed by innumerable designs implemented and experiences carried out, mainly focused on small capacity systems. However, only mature and efficient technologies are suitable for medium or large scale desalination. In the case of seawater desalination, wind-powered reverse osmosis is the most efficient, mature and cost-effective technology. This paper assesses the most suitable design for seawater reverse osmosis desalination driven by off-grid wind energy systems. A high innovative design based on gradual capacity with nominal production of 1000 m3/d is compared to a conventional fixed capacity desalination plant. Due to the intermittent wind resource, the gradual capacity desalination plant is able to fit the available energy and maximize the annual water production.  相似文献

In practical applications encountered in some mechanical systems initially straight slender elements laterally supported by elastic foundations may be prevented from thermal expansion. In such conditions a compressive force is created and a serious equilibrium instability phenomenon may take place when a critical temperature gradient is imparted to the structure. If the temperature is further increased the rod may experience relatively large deflections, and a geometrically non-linear two-point boundary value problem describes this behaviour. However, if finite but moderate deflections are admitted, an approximate solution may be obtained if a classical perturbation expansion method is applied to the non-linear ordinary differential governing equations. This approach renders a set of linear equations which can be sequentially solved. This work proposes an analytical solution for the assessment of the initial post-buckling configuration of slender elastic rods supported on linear elastic foundations and subjected to a uniform temperature gradient. The rod ends are assumed hinged and immovable and the thermal strain-temperature relationship is linear. The governing equations are derived and made non-dimensional so it is seen that two parameters rule the problem: the foundation stiffness modulus and the rod slenderness ratio. Results are presented and discussed for one slenderness ratio and a range of foundation stiffness that corresponds to the fourth buckling mode. Generally an increase in the applied temperature is associated with a decrease in the compressive force, but it is shown particular conditions where an opposite behavior is observed. The initial post-buckling results for unsupported rods are compared with existing full post-buckling solution and show excellent agreement, given that in practical situations the deflections are moderate.  相似文献

We discuss atomistic simulations of ion implantation and annealing of Si over a wide range of ion dose and substrate temperatures. The DADOS Monte Carlo model has been extended to include the formation of amorphous regions, and this allows simulations of dopant diffusion at high doses. As the dose of ions increases, the amorphous regions formed by cascades eventually overlap, and a continuous amorphous layer is formed. In that case, most of the excess interstitials generated by the implantation are swept to the surface as the amorphous layer regrows, and do not diffuse in the crystalline region. This process reduces the amount of transient enhanced diffusion (TED) during annealing. This model also reproduces the dynamic annealing during high temperature implants. In this case, the local amorphous regions regrow as the implant proceeds, without the formation of a continuous amorphous layer. For sufficiently high temperatures, each cascade is annealed out independently; interstitials and vacancies can escape from the cascade and thus increase dopant diffusion.  相似文献

Electrospun scaffolds constituted by different mixtures of two biodegradable polyesters are prepared. Specifically, materials with well differentiated properties can be derived from the blending of hydrophilic polyglycolide (PGA) and hydrophobic poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL), which are also two of the most applied polymers for biomedical uses. Electrospinning conditions are selected in order to get homogeneous and continuous fibers with diameters in the nano/micrometric range. These conditions are also applied to load the different scaffolds with curcumin (CUR) and polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB) as hydrophobic and hydrophilic bactericide compounds, respectively. Physicochemical characterization of both unloaded and loaded scaffolds is performed and involved Fourier transform infrared and 1H NMR spectroscopies, morphological observations by scanning electron microscopy, study of thermal properties through calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis, and evaluation of surface characteristics through contact angle measurements. Release behavior of the loaded scaffolds is evaluated in two different media. Results point out a well differentiated behavior where the delivery of CUR and even PHMB are highly dependent on the PGA/PCL ratio, the capability of the medium to swell the polymer matrix, and the diffusion of the selected solvent into the electrospun fibers. All samples show a bactericide effect in both hydrophilic cell culture and hydrophobic agar media.  相似文献

The versatility of the fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA) is increased by using two long-wavelength labels, Nile Blue and a ruthenium(II) chelate. The first label has been used to study the potential of FPIA on a solid surface using dry reagent technology. The aminoglycoside antibiotic amikacin has been used as an analyte model, and the method has been applied to the analysis of serum samples. The second label has been used to show the practical application of FPIA to the determination of macromolecules, using gliadins as an analyte model, which have been determined in gluten-free food. Very low amounts of anti-amikacin antibodies and amikacin-Nile Blue tracer were immobilized onto nitrocellulose membranes, for the development of the amikacin method, and the consumption of reagents is lower than in conventional FPIA. Only the addition of the standard or sample extract at an adequate pH is required at the analysis time. The analyte displaces the tracer from the tracer-antibody immunocomplex, obtaining a decrease in the fluorescence polarization proportional to the analyte concentration. The gliadin-Ru(II) chelate tracer shows a relatively long lifetime, which allows the observation of differences in fluorescence polarization values between the tracer-antibody complex and the tracer alone. The dynamic range of the calibration graphs for both analytes is 0.5-10 microg mL-1 and the detection limits are 0.1 and 0.09 microg mL-1 for amikacin and gliadins, respectively. The study of the precision gave values of relative standard deviations lower than 5 and 1.5% for the amikacin and gliadin methods, respectively. Amikacin was determined in human serum samples using a previous deproteinization step with acetonitrile, obtaining recovery values in the range 83.4-122.8%. The gliadin method was applied to the analysis of gluten-free food samples by using a previous extraction step. The recovery study gave values between 94.3 and 105.0%.  相似文献

The complexity of current organization systems, and the increase in the importance of the realization of internal controls in firms, make it necessary to construct models that automate and facilitate the work of auditors. A tool for the decision support process has been developed. The objective of the system is to facilitate the process of internal auditing in small and medium-sized enterprises. The system analyzes the data that characterizes each one of the activities carried out by the firm, then determines the state of each activity, calculates the associated risk, detects the erroneous processes, and generates recommendations to improve these processes. The developed model is composed of two case-based reasoning systems. One is used to identify the activities that may be improved and the other to determine how the activities could be improved. Each of the two subsystems use a different problem-solving method in each of the steps of the reasoning cycle. The system has been tested in 22 small and medium-sized companies in the textile sector, located in the northwest of Spain during the last 38 months and the obtained results are very encouraging.  相似文献

A new oligomeric surfactant: N,N,N′,N″,N″- pentamethyl diethyleneamine—N,N″-di-[tetradecylammonium bromide] referred to as 14-2-N(CH3)-2-14 was synthesized, purified and characterized by Elemental Analysis, 1H and 13C NMR and Electrospray. The micellar properties of this compound were determined by electrical conductivity and surface tension methods. Optical microscopy was also employed to study the behavior of anhydrous surfactant and the binary water/surfactant system as a function of temperature. The critical micellar concentration (cmc), degree of counterion binding and thermodynamic parameters of micellization (standard molar Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy of micellization) were determined by electrical conductivity measurements in the temperature range [24–54 °C]. Surface tension measurements also provide information about the dependence of the surface tension at the cmc (γcmc), pC20 (negative logarithm of the surfactant’s molar concentration C20, required to reduce the surface tension by 20 mN/m, the surface excess (Γmax) at air/solution interface, the minimum area per surfactant molecule at the air/solution interface (Amin), surface pressure at the cmc (Пcmc), critical packing parameter(CPP) and the standard free energies of micellization ( \Updelta Gm0\Updelta G_{m}^{0}) and of adsorption ( \Updelta G\textads0 \Updelta G_{\text{ads}}^{0} ).  相似文献
