The potential of grid-connected solar PV system in Bangladesh was estimated utilizing GeoSpatial toolkit, NASA SSE solar radiation data and HOMER optimization software. Financial viability of solar photovoltaic as an electricity generation source for Bangladesh was also assessed utilizing a proposed 1-MW grid-connected solar PV system using RETScreen simulation software for 14 widespread locations in Bangladesh. The technical potential of gird-connected solar PV in Bangladesh was calculated as about 50174 MW. The annual electricity generation of the proposed system varied depending on the location between 1653 MWh and 1854 MWh, with a mean value of 1729 MWh. Several different economic and financial indicators were calculated, such as the internal rate of return, net present value, benefit-cost ratio, cost of energy production and simple payback. All indicators – for all sites – showed favorable condition for development of the proposed solar PV system in Bangladesh. The results also showed that a minimum of 1423 tons of greenhouse gas emissions can be avoided annually utilizing the proposed system at any part of the country.  相似文献

Adsorption has been found to be significant in ultrafiltration by mixed matrix membrane. Removal of very low molecular weight solutes compared to the molecular weight cut off of the membrane is facilitated by adsorption. The modeling of the adsorption coupled with concentration polarization is presented based on the mathematical approach developed by Gekas et al. (Gekas et al. Chem Eng Sci. 1993;48:2753–2765), from the first principles. However, extensive modifications were included in theoretical development including those suggested by Ruiz‐Bevia et al. (Ruiz‐Bevia et al. Chem Eng Sci. 1997;52:2343–2352). The developed model captured the rejection dynamics with the help of retention factor. The model equations were solved under the framework of boundary layer analysis, using the integral approach. Effects of the adsorption isotherm and the different parameters affecting the system performance were also investigated. In this research, near fully dense single phase bulk multicomponent transition metal nitride (Nb1/3Ta1/3Ti1/3)N1−δ has been successfully synthesized from mixed commercial powders of NbN, TaN and TiN via reaction flash sintering technique. This was performed with an applied pressure of ~ 35 MPa at 25°C under a constant DC electric field (~24-32 V/cm). The flash event, which is the abrupt increase in current (up to ~ 25.2 A/mm2) and temperature, occurred without preheating. The threshold power dissipation on the sample right before the flash is ~ 0.7 W/mm3. The formation of single phase (Nb1/3Ta1/3Ti1/3)N1−δ random solid solution and its compositional uniformity were confirmed by XRD and EDS, respectively. The effects of ball milling duration and limiting current density on phase formation were studied. Simulation based on Joule heating provides an estimate of the ultimate sample temperature of ~ 1850°C. Vickers hardness of the obtained (Nb1/3Ta1/3Ti1/3)N1−δ is 17.6 ± 0.6 GPa, which is comparable to similarly flash sintered ingredient binary nitrides of TaN and NbN. TGA in air shows that the oxidation resistance of (Nb1/3Ta1/3Ti1/3)N1−δ is better than that of TaN and NbN but inferior to TiN. The study demonstrates that reaction flash sintering can be a highly efficient technique for synthesizing bulk multicomponent ceramics for both material fundamental investigations and application development.  相似文献

Guayule natural rubber (GNR) is an alternative resource of Hevea natural rubber (HNR) with 99.9% cis content in its 1,4-polyisoprene chemical backbone. In this study, compounds were formulated independently with four different reinforcing fillers such as carbon black (HAF), precipitated silica (VN3), fume silica (FUM) and nanofly ash (NFA) for the advancement of GNR based products. The cure characteristic, dynamic-mechanical performance and mechanical properties of GNR composite were studied with the reinforcing effect of different fillers on GNR. The cure characteristic results demonstrated that HAF and FUM silica filled compounds had more processing safety than VN3 and NFA filled compounds. Viscoelastic parameters of the vulcanizates were studied by dynamic mechanical analysis to estimate the glass transition characteristics and dynamic behavior. The higher storage modulus of FUM silica vulcanizate was an indication of superior filler reinforcing nature and improved rolling resistance than other filled systems. Additionally, HRTEM analysis also proved the better filler dispersion ability of FUM silica in GNR matrix. The mechanical properties were studied with a variation of each filler loading of 8, 16, and 32 phr in GNR vulcanizates. The tensile strength of each filled system increased with an increase of filler content from 8 to 32 phr. In comparison, FUM silica GNR vulcanizates exhibited better mechanical properties, therefore, it was considered as a better structure-performance composite than those of HAF, VN3 and NFA filled composites.

Fenton's Reagent is a strong oxidant for 2,4,6 Trichlorophenol (TCP) in aqueous phase. This reaction can be effectively utilized to treat an industrial wastewater containing TCP, and reduce the toxicity of the discharge. This paper reports the effects of the amounts of the oxidant (hydrogen peroxide) and the catalyst (ferrous ions), relative to TCP, on the rates and extents of reaction. The progress of each reaction has been monitored in terms of TCP removal, chloride ions release from the organic structure, change in pH, and the reductions in COD and TOC. This information is important in order to maximize the level of treatment with minimum application of chemicals. A set of optimum molar ratios of oxidant to substrate, and catalyst to oxidant were determined.  相似文献

Tetragonal ( t ) ZrO2 nanoparticles have been obtained by a partial Eu3+→Zr4+ substitution, synthesized using a simple oxalate method at a moderate temperature of 650°C in air. The Eu3+ additive, 2 mol% used according to the optimal photoluminescence (PL), gives small crystallites of the sample. On raising the temperature further, the average crystallite size D grows slowly from 16 nm to a value as big as 49 nm at 1200°C. The Eu3+: t -ZrO2 nanoparticles have a wide PL spectrum at room temperature in the visible to near-IR regions (550–730 nm) in the 5D07FJ (Eu3+), J =1–4, electronic transitions. The intensity of the 5D07F4 group is as large as that of the characteristic 5D07F2 group of the spectrum in the forced electric-dipole allowed transitions. The enhanced t -ZrO2 phase stability and wide PL can be attributed to the combined effects of an amorphous Eu3+-rich surface and part of the Eu3+ doping of ZrO2 of small crystallites.  相似文献

The oxy-CO2 methane reforming reaction (OCRM) has been investigated over CoOx supported on a MgO precoated highly macroporous silica–alumina catalyst carrier (SA-5205) at different reaction temperatures (700–900 °C), O2/CH4 ratios (0.3–0.45) and space velocites (20,000–100,000 cc/g/h). The reaction temperature had a profound influence on the OCRM performance over the CoO/MgO/SA-5205 catalyst; the methane conversion, CO2 conversion and H2 selectivity increased while the H2/CO ratio decreased markedly with increasing reaction temperature. While the O2/CH4 ratio did not strongly affect the CH4 and CO2 conversion and H2 selectivity, it had an intense influence on the H2/CO ratio. The CH4 and CO2 conversion and the H2 selectivity decreased while the H2/CO increased with increasing space velocity. The O2/CH4 ratio and the reaction temperature could be used to manipulate the heat of the reaction for the OCRM process. Depending on the O2/CH4 ratio and temperature the OCRM process could be operated in a mildly exothermic, thermal neutral or mildly endothermic mode. The OCRM reaction became almost thermoneutral at an OCRM reaction temperature of 850 °C, O2/CH4 ratio of 0.45 and space velocity of 46,000 cc/g/h. The CH4 conversion and H2 selectivity over the CoO/MgO/SA-5205 catalyst corresponding to thermoneutral conditions were excellent: 95% and 97%, respectively with a H2/CO ratio of 1.8.  相似文献

Animal studies suggest that perfluorocarbons (PFCs) may alter sexual maturation. Relationships of human PFC exposure with puberty are not clear. We conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate whether perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) were associated with indicators of sexual maturation in a 2005-2006 survey of residents with PFOA water contamination from the Mid-Ohio Valley. Participants were 3076 boys and 2931 girls aged 8-18 years. They were classified as having reached puberty based on either hormone levels (total >50 ng/dL and free >5 pg/mL testosterone in boys and estradiol >20 pg/mL in girls) or onset of menarche. We estimated the odds of having reached puberty classified by these criteria and the fitted median age of reaching puberty in relation to serum PFOA and PFOS concentrations measured when puberty status was assigned. For boys, there was a relationship of reduced odds of reached puberty (raised testosterone) with increasing PFOS (delay of 190 days between the highest and lowest quartile). For girls, higher concentrations of PFOA or PFOS were associated with reduced odds of postmenarche (130 and 138 days of delay, respectively). In conclusion, our study showed a later age of puberty in this population correlated with PFC concentrations.  相似文献

This study reports preparation of glass composition (54.50 wt.%) SiO2, (10.80 wt.%) B2O3, (14.20 wt.%) Na2O, (1.20 wt.%) K2O, (6.00 wt.%) CaO, (4.00 wt.%) Fe2O3 and (9.30 wt.%) TiO2 by melt quenching method using direct microwave heating and conventional resistive heating. Study of dielectric loss factor of the glass as function of temperature illustrated increasing loss factor above 370 ℃, 550 ℃, 650 ℃ and 900 ℃, indicating enhanced microwave absorption by the glass at above these temperatures. Chemical analysis results of both the glasses depicted more volatilization loss of volatile ingredients in conventional heating. The study of chemical durability was performed from leachate analysis describing less leaching of Na2O, K2O and other constituents from glass melted in microwave furnace. Glass transition temperatures (Tg) were found to be 576.3 ℃ and 569.5 ℃ for glass melted in conventional and microwave heating route, respectively. Laboratory experiment of glass melting utilizing microwave energy as an alternate heating source demonstrated 70%-75% electrical power saving.  相似文献
