The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of traffic data source (estimated vs. actual) on predicted progression rates of roughness and rutting for heavy-duty flexible pavements of rural freeways. Progression rates are predicted using calibrated HDM-4 models. The assessment is performed in terms of variations in maintenance intervention timing associated with the variations in progression rates. Time series pavement condition data (covering 3–5 years) have been collected for 7 sections of rural freeways for use in calibrating HDM-4 deterioration models. They range in length from 10 to 60.8 km and cover different traffic volumes, climate zones and subgrade soil types. For these sections, estimated annual average daily traffic (AADT), growth factors and assumed loading have been extracted from relevant database. Only six segments of these sections have Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) sites so relevant actual AADT, growth factors and axle load distributions have been extracted from WIM reports. The results of running the calibrated HDM-4 deterioration models using different traffic data show that actual traffic data from WIM sites result in higher rates of deterioration to that of estimated data for four sites, resulting in earlier intervention timing and higher present value agency cost. Pravastatin is a promising drug utilized in the treatment of hyperlipidemia, yet, its main clinical limitation is due to gastric liability which fractions its oral bioavailability to less than 18%. The purpose of the current study is to encapsulate pravastatin into Eudragit®-based spray-dried microparticles aspiring to overcome its acid liability. With the aim to optimize the microparticles, formulation and process parameters were studied through acid resistance challenging test. Physicochemical characterization of the optimized spray-dried pH-sensitive microparticles namely; in-vitro dissolution, surface morphology, compatibility, and solid-state studies were performed. Moreover, in-vivo evaluation of the microparticles and accelerated stability studies were carried out. The results outlined that polymer to drug ratio at 5:1 and pravastatin concentration at 1%w/w in spray-drying feed solution showed 38.55% and 53.97% encapsulation efficiency, respectively. The significance of process parameters specifically; the flow rate and the inlet temperature on microparticles surface integrity were observed, and optimized until encapsulating efficiency reached 72.37%. The scanning electron microscopical examination of the optimized microparticles illustrate uniform smooth surface spheres entrapping the drug in an amorphous state as proved through Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier Transfer Infrared (FTIR) studies. The in-vivo evaluation demonstrated a 5-fold enhancement in pravastatin bioavailability compared to the marketed product. The results provided evidence for the significance of spray-dried pH-sensitive microparticles as a promising carrier for pravastatin, decreasing its acid liability, and improving its bioavailability. 相似文献

This paper proposes a new high gain observer for a class of non-uniformly observable nonlinear systems with coupled structure driven by sampled outputs. The considered class of systems is particularly constituted by several subsystems where each subsystem is associated to a subset of the output variables. The observer design is carried out through two steps. First, a high-gain observer is proposed in the continuous-time output case under the assumption that an adequate persistent excitation condition is satisfied by each subsystem. Then, the proposed observer is redesigned to handle the case of sampled outputs leading thereby to a continuous-discrete time observer. The latter property is achieved thanks to the approach pursued along the convergence analysis. The effectiveness of the proposed observer is emphasised in a realistic simulation framework involving a mathematical model of a quadrotor which is diffeomorphic to the proposed class of considered systems. 相似文献

There is a growing interest in the development of microelectronics that can perform reliably and robustly at temperatures above 300 °C. Such devices require stable thermal properties, low thermal drift, and thermal cycling resistance. Conventional hybrid circuit technology demonstrates high-temperature packages, but the high costs and lead time are significant drawbacks. In contrast, additive manufacturing processes, including aerosol jet printing (AJP), offer cost and time benefits, as well as 3D structures and embedded features. However, the properties and reliability of additive packaging materials at extreme temperatures are not well known. Herein, the reliability at temperatures up to 750 °C in terms of electrical performance and mechanical strength of aerosol jet printed gold thick films onto ceramic substrates are assessed. Thermal coefficient of resistance of printed gold films is measured. The electrical resistance stability and leakage current of printed gold structures are also characterized during over 100 h of aging at temperatures up to 750 °C. Finally, the mechanical adhesion strength of the printed gold films is evaluated after aging for 100 h at temperatures up to 750 °C. The adhesion of the printed gold to the ceramic substrates remains high after aging, very stable resistances and minimal leakage currents have been observed. 相似文献
