Atrazine (ATR) is a herbicide globally used to eliminate undesired weeds. Herbicide usage leads to various adverse effects on human health and the environment. The primary source of herbicides in humans is the food laced with the herbicides. The ATR binding to trypsin (TYP) was investigated in this study to explore its binding potential and toxicity. In vitro interaction of ATR with TYP was studied using multi-spectroscopic methods, molecular docking, and enzyme kinetics to explore the mechanism of binding for the TYP-ATR system. The TYP-ATR complex revealed binding constants (103 M−1), suggesting a moderate binding. The free energy for the TYP-ATR complexes was negative, suggesting a spontaneous interaction. Thermodynamic parameters enthalpy (ΔH) and entropy (ΔS) obtained positive values for the TYP-ATR system suggesting hydrophobic interactions in the binding process. Micro-environmental and conformational changes in TYP molecules were induced on interaction with ATR. Reduced catalytic activity of TYP was observed after interaction with ATR owing to the changes in the secondary structure of the TYP.  相似文献

A model-based approach for the decision feedback equalization of Volterra type nonlinear communication channels is proposed such that the linear model-based decision feedback equalization can be considered as a special case of the proposed approach. In designing the decision feedback equalizer, the nonlinear decision feedback equalization problem is visualized as a linear, multichannel equalization problem. A complete modified Gram–Schmidt orthogonalization of the input vector is achieved by using modified sequential processing multichannel lattice stages. The elements of the multichannel desired signal vector are then estimated from the new orthogonal set by using only scalar operations. The probability of error performance of the proposed equalizer is improved by the estimation of the elements of the desired signal vector through a sigmoid activation function so that a polynomial perceptron equalizer is realized. The comparative computational complexity calculations and performance results of the proposed decision feedback equalizer are also provided.  相似文献

This study utilized monthly mean daily values of global solar-radiation and sunshine duration at 41 locations in Saudi Arabia and developed an empirical correlation for the estimation of global solar radiation at locations where it is not measured. The paper also presents the comparison between the present correlation and other models developed under different geographical and varied meteorological conditions. The comparisons are made using standard statistical tests, namely mean bias error (MBE), root mean square error (RMSE), mean percentage error (MPE), and mean absolute bias error (MABE) tests. The errors are calculated using monthly mean daily measured and estimated values of global solar radiation at all 41 locations. The study found that the present correlation produced the best estimates of global solar radiation.  相似文献

In recent building practice, rapid construction is one of the principal requisites. Furthermore, in designing concrete structures, compressive strength is the most significant of all parameters. While 3-d and 7-d compressive strength reflects the strengths at early phases, the ultimate strength is paramount. An effort has been made in this study to develop mathematical models for predicting compressive strength of concrete incorporating ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) at the later phases. Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) goodness-of-fit test was used to examine distribution of the data. The compressive strength of EVA-modified concrete was studied by incorporating various concentrations of EVA as an admixture and by testing at ages of 28, 56, 90, 120, 210, and 365 d. An accelerated compressive strength at 3.5 hours was considered as a reference strength on the basis of which all the specified strengths were predicted by means of linear regression fit. Based on the results of KS goodness-of-fit test, it was concluded that KS test statistics value (D) in each case was lower than the critical value 0.521 for a significance level of 0.05, which demonstrated that the data was normally distributed. Based on the results of compressive strength test, it was concluded that the strength of EVA-modified specimens increased at all ages and the optimum dosage of EVA was achieved at 16% concentration. Furthermore, it was concluded that predicted compressive strength values lies within a 6% difference from the actual strength values for all the mixes, which indicates the practicability of the regression equations. This research work may help in understanding the role of EVA as a viable material in polymer-based cement composites.  相似文献

The main objective of this article is to shed light on an important issue of water conservation-groundwater rights and legislation. Principles of groundwater rights are detailed and their applications to major aquifer systems, groundwater basins and wadis are discussed. Legislation and the clarification of water rights are vital for the sustainable development of groundwater. They are urgently needed in Saudi Arabia in particular and in all areas where demand exceeds supply. Legislation is one of the main pillars upon which any conservation policy is built. In this article a model is suggested for groundwater allocation in aquifers shared by more than one state.  相似文献

Phase distribution during boiling flow in horizontal channels and fuel bundles tends to be asymmetric, particularly at low flows, due to gravity induced separation of the phases. Standard models and computational techniques developed for flow on vertical rod bundles cannot adequately simulate this tendency in horizontal flows, so more advanced techniques involving thermal and mechanical disequilibrium between phases are required.The paper describes the development and application of a drift flux code ASSERT (Advanced Solution of Subchannel Equations in Reactor Thermalhydraulics) which models departure from mechanical and thermal equilibrium between phases. Details of the model and computational technique are given, and parametric studies are shown to illustrate the capability of the code to simulate two-phase flow in horizontal bundles.Fundamental to the successful application of such a code are phenomenological studies aimed at the quantification of the empirical relationships selected for use. The paper concludes with a detailed study of mechanisms governing two-phase flow between neighbouring horizontal channels, isolating the driving effects of pressure gradient, gravity head and turbulent interchange by means of comparison with available experimental data.  相似文献

A review of heavy ion beam driven target studies and reactor chamber neutronic analysis at the Institute for Neutron Physics and Reactor Technology of the Nuclear Research Center Karlsruhe is presented. Based on a single shell, multi-layered 4 mg deuterium-tritium (DT) target design, key issues of the inertial confinement fusion target behavior are discussed. These issues are: ion beam energy deposition within the target; equations of state for the different target materials under the extreme conditions encountered; numerical simulation of target compression, ignition and burn including possible instabilities; transport processes of photons, neutrons, gammas, and alphas; and reactor chamber neutronics including target spectra, blanket and first wall analysis. For most of these issues the present physics understanding is briefly reviewed, the available calculational tools are mentioned, and key problems, which need further research and development efforts, are identified. One important feature of this paper is a consistent treatment of the 4 mg DT target behavior and of the corresponding reactor chamber neutronic analysis.  相似文献

A new mass spectrometric method is proposed for measurement of 234U/238U ratio with a single Daly electron multiplier detector using the general peak jump method. The method is based on precise measurement of the 235U/238U ratio and 234U/235U ratio, which are used to calculate the 234U/238U ratio using the equation 234U/238U = 235U/238U x 234U/235U. The results show a significant improvement, i.e., more than 35 times better precision in measuring the (234)U/(238)U ratio with this method (sigma = 2.9 x 10(-8)) as compared to direct measurement of 234U/238U (sigma = 1.1 x 10(-6)). The method widens the applicability of the single collector system, and it will potentially be helpful to improve the precision in the case of the static multicollector system also.  相似文献

Using analog wireless communication, we demonstrate a master-slave load-sharing control of a parallel dc-dc buck converter system, thereby eliminating the need for physical connection to distribute the control signal among the converter modules. The current reference for the slave modules is provided by the master module using radio-frequency (RF) transmission, thereby ensuring even sharing of the load current. The effect of delay due to RF transmission on system stability and performance is analyzed, and regions of operation for a stable as well as satisfactory performance are determined. We experimentally demonstrate a satisfactory performance of the master-slave converter at 20-kHz switching frequency under steady state as well as transient conditions in the presence of a transmission delay. The proposed control concept, which can potentially attain redundancy that is achievable using a droop method, may lead to more robust and reconfigurable control implementation of distributed converters and power systems. It may also be used as a (fault-tolerant) backup for wire-based control of parallel/distributed converters.  相似文献
