N‐Phenylmaleimide–N‐(p‐hydroxy)phenylmaleimide–styrene terpolymer (HPMS), carrying reactive p‐hydroxyphenyl groups, was prepared and used to improve the toughness of cyanate ester resins. Hybrid modifiers composed of N‐phenylmaleimide–styrene copolymer (PMS) and HPMS were also examined for further improvement in toughness. Balanced properties of the modified resins were obtained by using the hybrid modifiers. The morphology of the modified resins depends on HPMS structure, molecular weight and content, and hybrid modifier compositions. The most effective modification of the cyanate ester resin was attained because of the co‐continuous phase structure of the modified resin. Inclusion of the modifier composed of 10 wt% PMS (Mw 136 000 g mol?1) and 2.5 wt% HPMS (hydroxyphenyl unit 3 mol%, Mw 15 500 g mol?1) led to 135% increase in the fracture toughness (KIC) for the modified resin with a slight loss of flexural strength and retention of flexural modulus and glass transition temperature, compared with the values for the unmodified resin. Furthermore, the effect of the curing conditions on the mechanical and thermal properties of the modified resins was examined. The toughening mechanism is discussed in terms of the morphological and dynamic viscoelastic behaviour of the modified cyanate ester resin system. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Product selectivity control for the synthesis of imidoylindoles and 4‐alkylidenedihydroquinazolines from N‐imidoyl‐o‐alkynylanilines via silver triflate‐catalyzed cycloisomerization or tetrabutylammonium fluoride‐promoted cyclization is described. The product selectivity depends mainly on the catalyst/promoter used, and on the substituents on the alkyne and amidine functions of the substrates.

The partnership in the CrematogasterMacaranga ant–plant interaction is highly species-specific. Because a mutualistic relationship on a Macaranga plant starts with colonization by a foundress queen of a partner Crematogaster species, we hypothesized that the foundress queens select their partner plant species by chemical recognition. We tested this hypothesis with four sympatric Macaranga species and their Crematogaster plant-ant species. We demonstrated that foundress Crematogaster queens can recognize their partner Macaranga species by contact with the surface of the seedlings, that they can recognize compounds from the stem surface of seedlings of their partner plant species, and that the gas chromatographic profiles are characteristic of the plant species. These findings support the hypothesis that foundress queens of the Crematogaster plant-ant species select their partner Macaranga species by recognizing nonvolatile chemical characteristics of the stem surfaces of seedlings.  相似文献

Dielectric depression and dispersion were observed in BaTiO3 ceramic films fabricated by electrophoretic deposition followed by sintering. The dielectric constants were depressed down to 6800–4600 around the Curie point ( T C ). The dielectric dispersion occurred above T C . These dielectric properties are attributable to a surface layer formed during sintering. XRD analysis indicated that the surface layer was a hexagonal-like BaTiO3 phase. A mixed solvent of acetylacetone and alcohol employed in the present work may have been responsible for the formation of the surface layer.  相似文献

The detailed reaction mechanism of Di-Air, which showed the unprecedented high deNOx performance at high temperature conditions, was studied in this work. Since the Di-Air phenomenon occurs with continuous short pulse injections of hydrocarbons over NSR (NOx storage and reduction) catalyst, this study focused on the specific function of HC as an effective reductant for NOx reduction reaction. As a first step, the deNOx performance was compared with three different reductant gases including CO, H2 and C3H6 in a modified synthetic gas bench equipped with a gas injector which enables continuous small amount of injections. At inlet gas temperature of 450 °C C3H6 showed the best deNOx performance whereas H2 was the best at 150 °C. Moreover the result of temperature programmed desorption showed that intermediate species represented by –NCO (isocyanates) produced from C3H6 was thermally more stable than that produced from CO. These results confirmed that the injected HC reacts with adsorbed NOx on NSR catalyst generating thermally stable intermediates, which could contribute the high deNOx performance at high temperature conditions.  相似文献

The number of diabetes mellitus (DM) patients is increasing, and stroke is deeply associated with DM. Recently, neuroprotective effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) are reported. In this study, we explored whether liraglutide, a GLP-1 analogue exerts therapeutic effects on a rat stroke model. Wistar rats received occlusion of the middle cerebral artery for 90 min. At one hour after reperfusion, liraglutide or saline was administered intraperitoneally. Modified Bederson’s test was performed at 1 and 24 h and, subsequently, rats were euthanized for histological investigation. Peripheral blood was obtained for measurement of blood glucose level and evaluation of oxidative stress. Brain tissues were collected to evaluate the level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). The behavioral scores of liraglutide-treated rats were significantly better than those of control rats. Infarct volumes of liraglutide-treated rats at were reduced, compared with those of control rats. The level of derivatives of reactive oxygen metabolite was lower in liraglutide-treated rats. VEGF level of liraglutide-treated rats in the cortex, but not in the striatum significantly increased, compared to that of control rats. In conclusion, this is the first study to demonstrate neuroprotective effects of liraglutide on cerebral ischemia through anti-oxidative effects and VEGF upregulation.  相似文献

GeTe is a promising candidate for the fabrication of high-temperature segments for p-type thermoelectric (TE) legs. The main restriction for the widespread use of this material in TE devices is high carrier concentration (up to ∼ 1021 cm−3), which causes the low Seebeck coefficient and high electronic component of thermal conductivity. In this work, the band structure diagram and phase equilibria data have been effectively used to attune the carrier concentration and to obtain the high TE performance. The Ge1−xBixTe (x = 0.04) material prepared by the Spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique demonstrates a high power factor accompanied by moderate thermal conductivity. As a result, a significantly higher dimensionless TE figure of merit ZT = 2.0 has been obtained at ∼ 800 K. Moreover, we are the first to propose that application of the developed Ge1−xBixTe (x = 0.04) material in the TE unicouple should be accompanied by SnTe and CoGe2 transition layers. Only such a unique solution for the TE unicouple makes it possible to prevent the negative effects of high contact resistance and chemical diffusion between the segments at high temperatures.  相似文献

Platelike CaTiO3 particles with an orthorhombic perovskite structure have been synthesized by topochemical microcrystal conversion (TMC) from platelike precursor particles of the layer-structured CaBi4Ti4O15 at 950 °C. The CaTiO3 particles inherited and retained the shape of the precursor particles with a thickness of approximately 0.3 μm, and a width of 2–6 μm. XRD analysis showed that in the TMC reaction, the crystallographic {0 0 1} plane of CaBi4Ti4O15 is converted into the {1 0 0} plane of CaTiO3. Using the platelike CaTiO3 particles as templates in the templated grain growth method, dense {1 0 0} grain-oriented CaTiO3 ceramics having a {1 0 0} orientation could be fabricated at sintering temperatures between 1350 and 1500 °C. The maximum orientation factor reached 99.7% at 10% of template. It was found that texturing improves microwave dielectric low-loss properties, providing a 1.55 times higher Qf value of 9310 GHz in textured ceramics compared to that of 6005 GHz in non-textured ceramics.  相似文献

In minimal change nephrotic syndrome, podocyte vesicle transport is enhanced. Adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) anchors microtubules to cell membranes and plays an important role in vesicle transport. To clarify the role of APC in vesicle transport in podocytes, nephrotic syndrome was induced by puromycin amino nucleoside (PAN) injection in mice expressing APC1638T lacking the C-terminal of microtubule-binding site (APC1638T mouse); this was examined in renal tissue changes. The kidney size and glomerular area of APC1638T mice were reduced (p = 0.014); however, the number of podocytes was same between wild-type (WT) mice and APC1638T mice. The ultrastructure of podocyte foot process was normal by electron microscopy. When nephrotic syndrome was induced, the kidneys of WT+PAN mice became swollen with many hyaline casts, whereas these changes were inhibited in the kidneys of APC1638T+PAN mice. Electron microscopy showed foot process effacement in both groups; however, APC1638T+PAN mice had fewer vesicles in the basal area of podocytes than WT+PAN mice. Cytoplasmic dynein-1, a motor protein for vesicle transport, and α-tubulin were significantly reduced in APC1638T+PAN mice associated with suppressed urinary albumin excretion compared to WT+PAN mice. In conclusion, APC1638T mice showed reduced albuminuria associated with suppressed podocyte vesicle transport when minimal change nephrotic syndrome was induced.  相似文献

Cold sintering process (CSP) offers a promising strategy for the fabrication of innovative and advanced high permittivity dielectric nanocomposite materials. Here, we introduce Ba(OH)2?8H2O hydrated flux as a new transient chemistry that enables the densification of BaTiO3 in a single step at a temperature as low as 150 °C. This remarkably low temperature is near its Curie transition of 125 °C, associated with a displacive phase transition. The cold sintered BaTiO3 shows a relative density of 95 % and a room temperature relative permittivity over 1000. This new hydrated flux permits the fabrication of a unique dense BaTiO3-polymer nanocomposite with a high volume fraction of ceramics ((1-x) BaTiO3x PTFE, with x = 0.05). The composite exhibits a relative permittivity of approximately 800, at least an order of magnitude higher than previous reports on polymer composites with BaTiO3 nanoparticle fillers that are typically well below 100. Unique high permittivity dielectric nanocomposites with enhanced resistivities can now be designed using polymers to engineer grain boundaries and CSP as a processing method opening up new possibilities in dielectric materials design.  相似文献
