A new enzymatic method of synthesizing methyl esters from plant oil and methanol in a solvent-free reaction system was developed. It is anticipated that such plant oil methyl esters can be used as a biodiesel fuel in the future. Lipase from Rhizopus oryzae efficiently catalyzed the methanolysis of soybean oil in the presence of 4–30 wt% water in the starting materials; however the lipase was nearly inactive in the absence of water. The methyl ester (ME) content in the reaction mixture reached 80–90 wt% by stepwise additions of methanol to the reaction mixture. The kinetics of the reaction appears to be in accordance with the successive reaction mechanism. That is, the oil is first hydrolyzed to free fatty acids and partial glycerides, and the fatty acids produced are then esterified with methanol. Although R. oryzae lipase is considered to exhibit 1(3)-regiospecificity, a certain amount of 1,3-diglyceride was obtained during the methanolysis and hydrolysis of soybean oil by R. oryzae lipase solution. Therefore, the high ME content in the reaction mixture is probably attributable to the acyl migration from the sn-2 position to the sn-1 or sn-3 position in partial glycerides.  相似文献

Kevlar and glass fibers were used to reinforce linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), and composite sheets of 0.8, 1.5 and 2.5 mm thicknesses were obtained by using a compression molding technique. Dynamic viscoelastic properties of non‐hybrid and hybrid composites of various compositions at 200°C are evaluated. Storage modulus (G′) and loss modulus (G″) increase with angular frequency (ω) and reinforcement. Replacement of glass fiber by Kevlar at constant loading of fibers in LLDPE increases the value of G′, G″ and η′. The fractured surface of composite shows the gradient orientation of fibers particularly in 2.5 mm thick sheet. Top and bottom layers show relatively two‐dimensional orientation as compared to the middle layer, which shows random orientation. The orientation of fibers decreases G′ and η′ of Kevlar fiber and hybrid fiber hybrid fiber reinforced LLDPE composites. The effect of change in distance between parallel plate of rheometer (change in strain amplitude) on dynamic rheological properties is studied and reported here.  相似文献

Pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) mainly consist of cancer-associating fibroblasts in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) is implicated in the pathophysiology of diabetic complications. Here, we studied the implication of RAGE in PSC activation in PDAC. The activation of cultured mouse PSCs was evaluated by qPCR. The induction of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) in PDAC cell lines was assessed under stimulation with culture supernatant from activated PSCs. A total of 155 surgically resected PDAC subjects (83 nondiabetic, 18 with ≦3-years and 54 with >3-years history of diabetes) were clinicopathologically evaluated. A high-fat diet increased the expression of activated markers in cultured PSCs, which was abrogated by RAGE deletion. Culture supernatant from activated PSCs facilitated EMT of PDAC cells with elevation of TGF−β and IL−6, but not from RAGE−deleted PSCs. Diabetic subjects complicated with metabolic syndrome, divided by cluster analysis, showed higher PSC activation and RAGE expression. In such groups, PDAC cells exhibited an EMT nature. The complication of metabolic syndrome with diabetes significantly worsened disease−free survival of PDAC subjects. Thus, RAGE in PSCs can be viewed as a new promoter and a future therapeutic target of PDAC in diabetic subjects with metabolic syndrome.  相似文献

Liquid crystalline polymer (LCP) fibers and glass fibers have been used to rein force linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) by using an elastic melt extruder and the compression molding technique. The impact behavior of hybrid composites of different composition is compared and is explained on the basis of the volume frac tion of the fibers. Addition of glass fibers decreases the Izod impact strength LLDPE. The impact strength of the composites increases when glass fibers are placed by LCP fibers. Dynamic mechanical α and β relaxations are studied and effect of variation of fiber composition on these relaxations is reported in the tem perature range from −50 to 150°C at 1 Hz frequency, a relaxation shifts toward higher temperatures with addition of fibers in LLDPE. Addition of fibers increases the storage modulus of LLDPE.  相似文献

A new epoxy resin containing the pyrene moiety in the backbone (3) was synthesized and confirmed by gel permeation chromatography and field‐desorption mass spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy. In addition, to evaluate the influence of the pyrene moiety on the structure, epoxy resins having an anthrylene moiety (5) and having a phenylene moiety (7) were synthesized. The cured polymer obtained through the curing reaction between 3 and phenol novolac was used for making a comparison of its thermal properties with those obtained from 5, 7, and bisphenol‐A (4,4′‐isopropylidenediphenyl)‐type epoxy resin (Bis‐EA). The cured polymer obtained from 3 showed a higher glass transition temperature, lower coefficient of linear thermal expansion, lower moisture absorption, and markedly higher anaerobic char yield at 700°C of 37.6 wt %, which might be attributed to the higher aromaticity of 3 containing the pyrene moiety. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A new, wide-band, high-speed and high-sensitivity THz detector has been developed. The prototype detector consists of a parabolic cylindrical mirror, a long wire antenna and a Schottky barrier diode. Direct detection measurements have shown a stable sensitivity of 150 ± 50 V/W for 1–2 THz without any adjustments. The long wire antenna was fixed at the focus of parabolic cylindrical mirror then it has been realized less operation steps, easy coupling to the external THz signals and a dramatic enhancement in the practicality of this system. The optically polished mirror and frosted surface one showed comparable sensitivities, thus easy polishing and less cost mirror fabrication can be applied for this system. The radiation pattern showed a maximum radiation angle of approximately 23° with its dominant main lobe, which was attributed to the wire antenna character and confirmed good agreements with classical antenna theory.  相似文献

Since graphene is a type of 2D carbon material with excellent mechanical, electrical, thermal, and optical properties, the efficient preparation of graphene macroscopic assemblies is significant in the potentially large‐scale application of graphene sheets. Conventional preparation methods of graphene macroscopic assemblies need strict conditions, and, once formed, the assemblies cannot be edited, reshaped, or recycled. Herein, inspired by the biomineralization process, a feasible approach of shapeable, multimanipulatable, and recyclable gel‐like composite consisting of graphene oxide/poly(acrylic acid)/amorphous calcium carbonate (GO‐PAA‐ACC) is designed. This GO‐PAA‐ACC material can be facilely synthesized at room temperature with a cross‐linking network structure formed during the preparation process. Remarkably, it is stretchable, malleable, self‐healable, and easy to process in the wet state, but tough and rigid in the dried state. In addition, these two states can be readily switched by adjusting the water content, which shows recyclability and can be used for 3D printing to form varied architectures. Furthermore, GO‐PAA‐ACC can be functionalized or processed to meet a variety of specific application requirements (e.g., energy‐storage, actuators). The preparation method of GO‐PAA‐ACC composite in this work also provides a novel strategy for the versatile macroscopic assembly of other materials, which is low‐cost, efficient, and convenient for broad application.  相似文献

Bile acids (BAs) are a group of amphiphilic molecules consisting of a rigid steroid core attached to a hydroxyl group with a varying number, position, and orientation, and a hydrophilic side chain. While BAs act as detergents to solubilize lipophilic nutrients in the small intestine during digestion and absorption, they also act as hormones. Farnesoid X receptor (FXR) is a nuclear receptor that forms a heterodimer with retinoid X receptor α (RXRα), is activated by BAs in the enterohepatic circulation reabsorbed via transporters in the ileum and the colon, and plays a critical role in regulating gene expression involved in cholesterol, BA, and lipid metabolism in the liver. The FXR/RXRα heterodimer also exists in the distal ileum and regulates production of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 15/FGF19, a hormone traveling via the enterohepatic circulation that activates hepatic FGF receptor 4 (FGFR4)-β-klotho receptor complex and regulates gene expression involved in cholesterol, BA, and lipid metabolism, as well as those regulating cell proliferation. Agonists for FXR and analogs for FGF15/19 are currently recognized as a promising therapeutic target for metabolic syndrome and cholestatic diseases.  相似文献

Poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation is a post-translational modification of proteins by transferring poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) to acceptor proteins by the action of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Two tankyrase (TNKS) isoforms, TNK1 and TNK2 (TNKS1/2), are ubiquitously expressed in mammalian cells and participate in diverse cellular functions, including wnt/β-catenin signaling, telomere maintenance, glucose metabolism and mitosis regulation. For wnt/β-catenin signaling, TNKS1/2 catalyze poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation of Axin, a key component of the β-catenin degradation complex, which allows Axin’s ubiquitination and subsequent degradation, thereby activating β-catenin signaling. In the present study, we focused on the functions of TNKS1/2 in neuronal development. In primary hippocampal neurons, TNKS1/2 were detected in the soma and neurites, where they co-localized with PAR signals. Treatment with XAV939, a selective TNKS1/2 inhibitor, suppressed neurite outgrowth and synapse formation. In addition, XAV939 also suppressed norepinephrine uptake in PC12 cells, a rat pheochromocytoma cell line. These effects likely resulted from the inhibition of β-catenin signaling through the stabilization of Axin, which suggests TNKS1/2 enhance Axin degradation by modifying its poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation, thereby stabilizing wnt/β-catenin signaling and, in turn, promoting neurite outgrowth and synapse formation.  相似文献

Appropriate choice and consumption of meals are important to optimize diet quality. Nevertheless, the relationship between the conceptualization of food choice motives and consumption has yet to be elucidated. The current study attempts to delineate the effects of meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), gender, and age on psychologically defined food properties in three conceptual dimensions, namely, desired-to-be-eaten, ought-to-be-eaten, and actually-consumed foods, based on self-reporting among 100 Japanese participants. Results showed that there were large discrepancies between food choice motives (composed of desired- and ought-food dimensions) and actually-consumed foods. Accordingly, the effects of meal on food properties were examined in each dimension respectively, and meal effects were supported in all dimensions. Although food choice motives did not differ across age groups, people in their 40’s rated the properties of the foods they actually consumed substantially lower than did other age groups. No gender effect was observed. There were higher correlations between desired- and ought-dimensions across meals compared with between desired- and actual- and between ought- and actual-dimensions. In addition, association between dimensions was stronger at dinner compared with breakfast.  相似文献
