In this paper, the effects of oxygen and atmospheric plasma on air and water-vapor permeability properties of single jersey bamboo fabric have been investigated. The changes in these properties are believed to be related closely to the inter-fiber and inter-yarn friction force induced by the plasma treatments. The outcomes showed that the water-vapor permeability increased, although the air permeability decreased along with the plasma treatments. The SEM images clearly showed that the plasma modified the fiber surface outwardly. The results showed that the atmospheric plasma has an etching effect and increases the functionality of a bamboo surface, which is evident from SEM and FTIR–ATR analysis. These results reveal that atmospheric pressure plasma treatment is an effective method to improve the performance of bamboo fabric. Statistical analysis also indicates that the results are significant for air permeability and water-vapor permeability of the plasma-treated bamboo fabric.  相似文献

This research work reports the in vitro antitumor personality of few novel peptide nanocomplexes synthesized via a phase-assisted, modified Brust–Schiffrin methodology. Here, a series of metallo(copper, cobalt, nickel and zinc) nanocomplexes engineered with a pre-prepared peptide [N,N′-(1,2-ethylene)-bis-hippuricamide] have been synthesized for damaging the Dalton's lymphoma ascites tumor model. All the peptide nanocomplexes are spectrally, thermally and morphologically examined. The peptide bound zinc and cobalt nanocomplexes deliver excellent antitumor behavior against both the animal and human cancer cell lines, which has been pre-documented by their efficient DNA damaging skills under physiological conditions. Additionally, all the nanocomplexes are evaluated for the inhibition of microbial augmentation against few fungal and bacterial strains. The above results demonstrate that, a consecutive development of these kinds of peptide nanocomplexes may exemplify their uniqueness in biomedical applications as useful molecular-level devices.  相似文献

Diffusion bonding is a suitable process for joining dissimilar materials without much difficulty. In this investigation, an attempt was made to develop temperature–time and pressure–time diagrams for effective diffusion bonding of AZ31B magnesium and AA6061 aluminium alloys. The bonding quality of the joints was checked by microstructure analysis, lap shear tensile testing and ram tensile testing. Based on the results, temperature–time and pressure–time diagrams were constructed and these diagrams will act as reference maps for selecting appropriate process parameters to get quality bonds.  相似文献

Tin-doped Indium oxide thin films in different compositions (Sn = 0,5,10,15,20 at.wt%) were prepared on glass substrates at the substrate temperature of 250 °C in an oxygen atmosphere by electron beam evaporation. The structural and morphological studies were carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The grain size of the ITO films decreased when increasing the dopant concentration of Sn in the In2O3 lattice. Optical properties of the films were studied in the UV-Visible-NIR region (300-1000 nm). The optical energy band gap (Eg), as determined by the dependence of the absorption coefficient on the photon energy at short wavelengths was found to increase from 3.61 to 3.89 eV revealing the ascending loading profile of dopant concentration. Optical Parameters, such as absorption depth, refractive index (n), extinction coefficient (k), packing density, porosity, dispersion energy and single effective oscillator energy were also studied to show the composition dependence of tin-doped indium oxide films.  相似文献

The utilization of plastics has increased in packing sectors consistently, which lead indirectly to increased volumes of plastic wastes posing an environmental threat. Several utilization and recycling techniques of waste plastics are being practiced commercially around the world. In this article, recent conversion techniques of fuel oil from waste plastics and its utilization on a compression‐ignition engine are discussed. Recent statistics says most of the plastic wastes are generated from packing industries that contains polyethylene, polypropylene. In this connection, conversion techniques of polyethylene and polypropylene practiced frequently by researchers include catalytic processing, thermal degradation, and co‐processing. The effect of various parameters like catalysts, reaction temperature, and reaction time of the aforementioned conversion techniques are discussed in this review. Also, few research works about the utilization of waste plastic oil with a compression‐ignition engine along with engine performance and emissions in various blends of diesel with plastic oil are highlighted here. Reducing the contact area between the cutting tool rake surface and chip promotes the machining performance of the work material and increases the tool life. Magnesium alloys are ductile-lightweight materials that form continuous chips during machining. The present investigation discusses the orthogonal turning of ZK60 magnesium alloy with linearly textured cutting inserts under both dry and liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling conditions. Linear grooves that are parallel and perpendicular to chip flow direction were created using Nd-YAG laser on the tungsten carbide cutting inserts. The effect of texturing combined with the application of LN2 cooling is studied by evaluating the machining temperature and forces, microhardness, surface roughness and tool wear. Textured tools considerably minimize the liaison area of the chip with the rake plane compared to non-textured tools, which resulted in favorable effects in machinability. In case of cryogenic machining, textured tools substantially minimize the friction by the coupled effect of micro-pool lubrication and the formation of thin-film lubrication between the tool–chip/tool–work interfaces. Parallel-textured tools aided with cryogenic cooling exhibit superior performance during machining among the different types of tools employed in the present investigation.  相似文献

Workability is a measure of the extent of deformation that powder metallurgy materials can withstand prior to fracture occurred in the forming or upsetting processes. Workability of a material is obtained from several parameters namely strain, strain rate and temperature. Hot upsetting of the composite steel preforms with varying TiC contents, namely, 3% and 4%, and aspect ratios, namely, 0.45, 0.71 and 1.25, was carried out at a temperature of 1120 °C and the formability behaviour of the same under triaxial stress state condition was determined. The curves plotted for different preforms were analysed and a relationship was established between the axial strain and the formability stress index (β). The influence of TiC addition, in the steel composite, on the formability stress index, the relative density (R) and various stress ratio parameters, namely, (σθeff), (σmeff) and (σzeff) were studied. An attempt is also made to relate the fracture strain of the preforms with the formability stress index (β) under triaxial stress state condition.  相似文献
