A nonculture method utilizing a novel apparatus, the bioplorer, was developed. The bioplorer is composed of an efficient cell separation unit, a focusing-free microscopic device, and an image analysis program. A meat or vegetable suspension is poured into the cell separation funnel, and insoluble matter in the sample suspension is trapped by prefilters. Microbial cells passing through the two prefilters are then trapped by the membrane filter (pore size, 0.4 microm). Trapped cells are double-stained with 4',6'-diamidino-2-phenylindole and propidium iodide, and the membrane filter is removed and set on the focusing-free microscope. A fluorescent image is then recorded. Total numbers of viable and dead cells on the membrane filter can thus be determined automatically. One assay can be performed within 10 min, which is much faster than the culture method. The results obtained with both the nonculture method and the culture method for meat and vegetable samples were highly correlated (r = 0.953 to 0.998). Resins having phenolic derivatives were prepared by treating a resin (RAS‐4G), having benzylamino groups, with benzoic acids containing phenolic hydroxyl groups. The RAS‐4G was prepared by treating macroreticular chloromethylstyrene‐tetraethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (4G) copolymer beads with potassium phthalimide in N,N‐dimethylformamide, followed by reflux in an ethanol/hydrazine monohydrate mixture. 4‐Hydroxy benzoic acid, (2,4‐, 3,4‐, and 3,5‐)dihydroxy benzoic acids, 3,4,5‐trihydroxy benzoic acid, etc., were used as benzoic acids with phenolic hydroxyl groups. The antioxidation ability of the resins having phenolic derivatives was investigated against the generation of 1,4‐dioxane hydroperoxide. The resins showed high inhibition ability against the generation of hydroperoxide. In particular, the resin (RAS‐4G‐3,4‐DHBA) having two phenolic hydroxyl groups had the highest inhibition ability. The resins were found to act as radical scavengers during the generation of 1,4‐dioxane hydroperoxide by UV irradiation in the presence of oxygen. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The influence of polarization on the image formation of one-dimensional periodic patterns in a projection optical lithography system has been investigated. Assuming a linear polarizer at thelens pupil, I derived a simple expression representing the image intensity as the summation over spatial-frequency harmonics as well as three orthogonal polarizations. I calculated the coefficient for each image component as a function of the pattern frequency by independently varying the degree of partial coherence such that the image qualities of the two extreme polarization cases could be thoroughly compared. 相似文献

Abstract— An AC electric field to drive the IPS mode of a liquid‐crystal display (LCD) causes a reduction in the contrast after a long period of display operation. This phenomenon is refered to as the AC image‐sticking problem caused by long‐term driving. Thus far, there is no useful method of quantitatively evaluating AC image sticking. LCD panel products that use the IPS mode have been evaluated for a decade. In this paper, a new evaluation parameter (Δθ), which was recently proposed by Suzuki et al., is introduced. It was calculated from the slight difference in the deviation angle of LC molecules from the rubbing direction. Results from several conditions of test samples are presented in this paper as a phenomena that reflect the interaction between the surface of the PI alignment and the LC molecules. The results and discussions describe reasons for azimuthal gliding after long display operation for weak AC voltage driving. It is explained by suitably adopting the Kelvin‐Voigt model which is used to discuss the rheology of viscoelastic material. It is concluded that the surface rheology of PI alignment is one of the most important factors for the contrast reduction of the AC image‐sticking problem. 相似文献

When a robust servo system having an integral element has a large error input, it often reveals windup phenomena caused by output saturation. It is very difficult for a strictly proper and high‐order controller to avoid having windup phenomena caused by output saturation. This paper newly proposes the digital robust speed servo system with a complete algorithm for consideration of output saturation. The proposed algorithm completely considers the output saturation of a robust speed controller connected to a PI current controller in series. Moreover, this method can be applied to both a PI speed controller and an H∞ speed controller. Radiation tolerance up to 1015 1-MeV neq/cm2 is required for the silicon microstrip sensors to be operated at the Super LHC experiment. As a candidate for such sensors, we are investigating non-inverting n+-on-p sensors. We manufactured sample sensors of 1 times 1 cm in 4" and 6" processes with implementing different interstrip electrical isolation structures. Industrial high resistive p-type wafers from FZ and MCZ growth are tested. They are different in crystal orientations lang100rang and lang111rang with different wafer resistivities. The sensors were irradiated with 70-MeV protons and characterized in views of the leakage current increase, noise figures, electrical strip isolation, full depletion voltage evolution, and charge collection efficiency. 相似文献

The molecular structure and nucleotide sequence of Ce(3+)-induced methanol dehydrogenase (MDH) of Bradyrhizobium sp. MAFF211645 were investigated. The addition of 30 μM Ce(3+) to 1/10 nutrient broth containing 0.5% methanol remarkably increased MDH activity. Furthermore, La(3+) increased MDH activity, but other heavier rare earth and metal elements did not have the same effect. MDH increased by Ce(3+) was purified by sequential column chromatography, and the purified MDH migrated as a single band with an apparent molecular weight of 68 kDa on SDS-PAGE. The apparent molecular weight of native MDH was estimated to be 108,000 by gel chromatography. The MDH was comprised of two identical subunits. N-terminal 23-amino acid sequence, 1-NDELHKMAQNPKDWVMPAGDYAN-23, of the purified MDH exhibited 91.3% identity to that of the MDH large subunit-like protein encoded by mxaF' of Bradyrhizobium japonicum USDA110. Nucleotide sequencing of the MDH gene of strain MAFF211645 yielded a deduced amino acid sequence comprising 601 amino acid residues, an N-terminal signal peptide, and a mature MDH comprising 578 amino acid residues with a predicted molecular mass of 62,918 Da. Further analysis of the deduced amino acid sequence of mature MDH revealed that the functional amino acids in its active site, such as two adjacent Cys residues, and bacterial quinoprotein signatures 1 and 2 were conserved. These results indicate that Ce(3+)-induced MDH encoded by mxaF' may be involved in methanol metabolism in Bradyrhizobium sp. MAFF211645. 相似文献
