The total lipid and fatty acid compositions of tissues and the stomach contents of three subtropical marine fish species, subfamily Caesioninae, Caesio diagramma and C. tile, and family Siganidae Siganus canaliculatus, were investigated to clarify the differences between these species. Triacylglycerols (TAG) were the dominant depot lipids of the three species, whereas wax esters were found as a minor component. In particular, muscle lipids were found to contain mainly glycerol derivatives such as TAG and phospholipids. The major fatty acids identified in the three species were 16∶0, 18∶0, 18∶1n−9, and 22∶6n−3 (docosahexaenoic acid, DHA). In addition, noticeable levels of 16∶1n−7, 18∶1n−7, 20∶4n−6 (arachidonic acid, AA), and 20∶5n−3 (eicosapentaenoic acid) were found. DHA was the most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) in the muscle and viscera lipids of the three species. The high DHA levels in the lipids of all the organs were found to be higher than those of the lipid extracted from the stomach contents of the three fishes. In addition, the specimens of S. canaliculatus contained significantly higher levels of AA in its tissues than did the other two species. A high AA content is unusual since such high levels of n−6 PUFA are rarely found in higher marine organisms. These levels may be due to its characteristic feeding pattern, because S. canaliculatus prefer and mainly feed on seaweed, which often contains high amounts of n−6 PUFA, such as linoleic acid (18∶2n−6) and AA.  相似文献

Dye-doped deoxyribonucleic acid–surfactant films have been prepared by an intercalation method and their optical properties have been investigated. Coumarin 1 (C1), known as a neutral laser dye, can be successfully incorporated in deoxyribonucleic acid-surfactant films by immersing them in aqueous dye solution. About 6 wt% C1 can be doped in samples when the immersion time is 86400 s. C1-doped samples show pronounced optical absorption and photoluminescence bands. Not only hydrophobic–hydrophobic interactions but also molecular structures of dyes play prominent roles in the formation of neutral dye-doped deoxyribonucleic acid-surfactant films. It is surmised that C1 stays inside the double helix of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and/or between the alkyl groups of surfactants.  相似文献

Epitaxial (Ni, Zn)Fe2O4 films were prepared on (100) MgO single crystal substrate by lowpressure chemical vapour deposition using a thermal decomposition of acetylacetonatocomplexes, Ni(acac)2, Zn(acac)2 and Fe(acac)3. These complexes were evaporated at 157, 79 and 146° C, respectively, and transported with nitrogen carrier gas (flow rate 100 ml min−1) to the deposition furnace. Polycrystalline and epitaxial films were grown at 500 to 600 and 600 to 650° C, respectively, under a pressure of 12 torr. The epitaxial film of Ni1−xZnxFe2O4 (x⋍0.4) treated at 600° C for 60 min, showed the saturation magnetization of 67 e.m.u. g−1 and the coercive force of 20 to 30 Oe.  相似文献

In this article, a video‐based analysis for facial skin appearance with an automatic face tracking technique is proposed. The change of skin appearance under various illuminations is observed by illuminating the face from various light source positions, and the changes in facial appearance are recorded as a video stream during this measurement. The recorded video stream is then analyzed to obtain the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) at each position of the facial skin. Automatic face tracking is necessary to compensate the facial movement in order to obtain an accurate BRDF measurement at each position. Since conventional face tracking techniques cannot be used for a face illuminated from various light source positions, a new face tracking technique that is robust to the various face shadings has been developed. Experimental studies show the effectiveness of both the proposed video‐based analysis technique and the automatic face tracking technique. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study investigates the water availability scenario along Tokyo Metropolitan Area (TMA) under future climatic changes. TMA, which depends largely on the adjacent Tone river for its water supply, suffers from water shortage almost once in 2–3 yr. A methodology was developed considering integrated approach to ascertain probable impact of climatic changes on the overall water availability along the Tone river and its impact on TMA. Historical trend in hydro-climatic characteristics of the Tone River basin was investigated at the first place to assess the changes and interrelationships. A deterministic water balance model was later developed, integrating natural hydrological balance as well as several water uses and river regulation effects. The natural water balance part of the model was tested for some hypothetical climate change scenarios to observe the sensitivity of the Tone river flow to climatic perturbations. For the worst scenario of precipitation and temperature changes, the unregulated Tone river flow was observed to be reduced by around 20–50%, varying over different months. After considering river regulation effects from reservoirs and diversion, the regulated flow was further analyzed based on some risk indices. Drought risk was observed to be increased significantly for the periods between April–July.  相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were coated with a SiC layer using SiO vapor. The growth mechanism of SiC and the oxidation resistance of the SiC-coated MWCNTs were studied. The growth of the SiC layer was controlled by adjusting the partial pressure of CO2 using carbon felt placed in a crucible. The nanometer-sized SiC particles were deposited onto the tubes by the reaction between SiO( g ) and CO( g ). On the other hand, the thin surface of the MWCNTs was converted to the SiC layer when the carbon felt was not used. The oxidation durability of MWCNTs was improved by the SiC coating. MWCNTs were oxidized completely in air at 650°C for 60 min. However, about 90 mass% of the SiC-coated MWCNTs remained after the same oxidation test.  相似文献

GaAs FET amplifier modules for 20 GHz band satellite communications have been developed using newly developed power FETs. The deep recess gate structure was adopted in the power FET, which improved both power output capability and power gain. Power added efficiency of 22 percent with more than 1 W power output has been achieved with 3 mm gate width FETs. The amplifier modules containing two-stage internally matched FET's can be hermetically sealed in metal packages. The modules had 8.4-8.9 dB linear gain in the 17.7-18.8 GHz band and 7.9-8.4 dB linear gain in the 18.5-19.6 GHz band. The power output at 1 dB gain compression point was more than 0.5 W. The third-order intermodulation distortion ratio was 81-83 dB at 18.2 GHz and 77-80 dB at 18.9 GHz, when individual output signal power was -4 dBm.  相似文献

The concept of attribute mapping, which gives much more realistic images than ordinary texture mapping, is introduced. While the latter maps attribute values directly, attribute mapping maps indices that correspond to a bundle of various rendering attributes including colors, bumps, optics, and shading models. An index called an attribute table index is defined for a region called an attribute domain in which rendering attributes are assumed to be coherent. The general architecture of a mapping pipeline that incorporates the process of attribute mapping, and a variety of examples in which attribute mapping is applied, are then described. The core concept underlying attribute mapping is the Attribute Domain Definition Function (ADDF), which defines attribute domains and returns the associated attribute indices. The ADDF provides flexibility and ease in modifying rendering attributes.  相似文献
