An exploratory application of position-modulation photoacoustic imaging of ion-implanted (100)-oriented Si wafers was undertaken to assess its potential as a diagnostic probe in semiconductor processing. Wafer scans were performed using acoustooptic modulation of a 1.06-mum Nd(3+):YAG laser beam up to 0.2 MHz with piezoelectric photoacoustic detection. Sensitivity ranges to ion-implanted parameters (ionic species and fluences) were studied and the capability of the technique to monitor processing-induced damage was established. Results indicate that position-modulated photoacoustic detection offers higher sensitivity than single-beam photothermal imaging and has distinct advantages over other analytical techniques. 相似文献

Sickle operation in harvesting has been analysed with reference to design features of nine different types of sickles, and field and laboratory based investigations on biomechanical stresses and physiological valuation on six farmers. It has been indicated that the blade geometry contributes significantly to human performance and there is ample scope for further design optimisation. The suggested modifications are: (i) sickle weight - 200 g; (ii) total length of sickle - 33 cm; (iii) handle length - 11 cm; (iv) handle diameter - 3 c cm; (v) radius of blade curvature - 15 cm; (vi) blade concavity - 5 cm; (vii) serrated sickle: tooth pitch - 0.20 cm and tooth angle - 60 degrees; (viii) ratio of the length of cutting surface to chord length - 1.20. 相似文献

The mechanism of the pressure-induced tenderization of meat has not been fully established in spite of its beneficial effect. To detect the changes in the large structural proteins of the myofibrils induced by pressurization without heat treatment, high hydrostatic pressure (100-300 MPa) was applied to rabbit at-death skeletal muscle for 10 min at low temperature (0-2°C). Significant differences in the electrophoretic pattern of connectin (also called titin) in isolated myofibrils were observed between the control and pressurized muscle samples. The conversion of α-connectin (2800 kDa) to β-connectin (2100 kDa) was accelerated with increasing pressure applied to the muscle; also nebulin (800 kDa) was degraded by pressure treatment. From the results it is clear that the degradation of connectin is induced by pressurization alone without heat treatment. If the conversion of α-connectin to β-connectin during conditioning has some influence on meat tenderization, the pressure-induced conversion of α- to β-connectin is possibly one of the causes of pressure-induced tenderization of meat. 相似文献

Experimental measurements of alpha quartz thermal expansion as reported in the literature have been critically analyzed. A recommended set of best measured values over the temperature range -50 degrees C to +150 degrees C have been determined, as have values for the coefficient of thermal linear expansion (CTE) and the thermoelastic coefficients. The problem of scattering of Rayleigh waves at a rectangular groove is addressed. Grooves are known to excite bulk waves upon scattering and, hence, are potential sources (albeit secondary) in bulk-acoustic-wave (BAW) devices. The groove is formulated as a volume perturbation of the geometry. A modal method is used, and the results of Rayleigh wave reflection as well as bulk wave radiation are obtained and compared with the results available in the literature. A line flow of scatterers crossing the sound field produced by a focused circular transducer at uniform velocity originates a quasi-triangular Doppler spectrum. It is known that the spectrum shape and width depend on the line flow to beam axis angle, as well as on the transducer geometry. It has recently been theoretically predicted that this spectrum width is independent of the flow line location in the sound field. Experimental verification of the new theorem, based on the use of a thread phantom operated at various orientations, ranges, and offsets, with respect to the ultrasound transducer, is presented. The tests were made with a computerized pulsed Doppler system designed to perform optimal real-time spectral analysis of data obtained in this application. The prototype system and the experimental procedure adopted for demonstrating in vitro the invariance of the Doppler spectral bandwidth are described. 相似文献

An approximate analysis of the weakly guiding cladded acoustic fiber consisting of a core and infinite thick cladding both with hexagonal crystal symmetry is presented. The crystalline Z axis is parallel to the fiber axis. Weak guidance conditions require that the stiffness constants of the core are slightly less than those of the cladding, and the density of the core and cladding are almost the same. Approximate dispersion and cutoff equations are derived for all pure guided modes. Dispersion curves of several lower-order guided torsional, radial-axial and flexural modes are evaluated using both exact and approximate formulas and they are in good agreement. A simple approximate dispersion equation for leaky (longitudinal-type) modes is also obtained. 相似文献
