Penetration of fullerene C60 in hydrated molecular-colloidal form (FMC) and various C60 water-soluble derivatives (FDs) through membranes of human erythrocytes, platelets and symbiosomes (subcellular organelles of plant origin) were tested. The FDs bearing amino acids induced pronounced depolarization of symbiosome membranes energized with Mg-ATP. In erythrocytes and platelets incubated in K+-free medium in the presence of FCCP, FDs with malonic acid pendants promoted acidification of the intracellular medium thereby simulating an effect of the K+ ionophore valinomycin. Dissipation of ΔpH artificially induced on the plasma membrane of these cells was observed in the presence of C60-γ-aminobutiric acid which, in addition, strongly stimulated Mg-ATP-dependent generation of membrane potential on symbiosome membranes. C60-Arg was shown to dissipate K+-diffusion potential on erythrocyte membranes induced by valinomycin. Fullerene C60 used in hydrated molecular-colloidal form (FMC) also entered symbiosomes and platelets as evidenced by the quenching of the fluorescence of the Ca2+ indicator chlorotetracycline localized in the interior of these cells. These findings provide evidence for ease of permeation of these fullerene-based compounds through biological membranes from different type cells.  相似文献

Nanofingers of gold covered by porphyrins are prepared by a combination of atomic manipulation and surface self-organization. A submonolayer of zinc(II) 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-tert-butylphenyl)-porphyrin (ZnTBPP) axially ligated to a self-assembled monolayer of 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP) on Au(111) is prepared and studied using a combination of ultrahigh vacuum techniques. Under the electric field produced by the STM tip, the relatively weakly bound Au surface atoms along the discommensuration lines become mobile due to the strong bond to 4-ATP, while the tendency of the porphyrins towards self-assembly result in a collective motion of gold clusters. The clusters diffuse onto the surface following well-defined pathways along the [112] direction and then reach the step edges where they assembled, thus forming nanofingers. First-principles density functional theory calculations demonstrate the reduction of the binding energies between the surface gold clusters and the substrate induced by adsorption of thiols. Scanning tunneling microscopy images show assemblies across three adjacent discommensuration lines of the Au(111)-(22 x square root 3) reconstruction, which collectively diffuse along these lines to form islands nucleated at step edges.  相似文献

The structure of the core oligosaccharide from the phytopathogenic bacterium Rhizobium rubi was deduced by combining information from complementary chemical approaches (alkaline and acid hydrolysis), similar to the "overlap peptide" strategy. This structure is new and it contains two main oligosaccharide backbones that differ in the substitution degree of the external Kdo unit. The relevant feature shared by both oligosaccharides is the presence of a tetrasaccharide motif that is similar to the blood group Lewis B antigen (Le(B)). This epitope differs from Le(B) in the glycosidic configuration of the glucosamine unit (alpha and not beta) and in the occurrence of acetyls substituents at O3 and/or O4 of the galactose moiety. Other notable structural features are the location of the Dha residue, the presence of a alpha-glucose unit that is linked to the inner Kdo unit, the high number of acid sugars and the highly branched core structure.  相似文献

While questionnaires are still the most common way to survey consumers’ behaviors, it is known that respondents’ answers can be affected by the social desirability attributed to the behavior under investigation. To check whether a social desirability bias also affects electricity consumption self-reports, a study was carried out adopting an explicit (questionnaire) and implicit measurement technique (the autobiographical Implicit Association Test). Three behaviors were probed in this way, with a sample of 180 participants (60 for each behavior). The analysis of the congruence between explicit and implicit answers confirms that desirability bias is at stake in self-reported measures of electricity conservation; it also shows that different behaviors—in this same domain—can be subject to this bias to a different extent and that a considerable amount of participants need to be considered as ambivalent. The methodological and conceptual implications of these findings and of the method are discussed with respect to pro-environmental studies and interventions.  相似文献

The anthocyanins were characterised and quantified in four cultivars of sour cherries by means of high-performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. Column chromatography on XAD-2 Amberlite was the method used for isolation of anthocyanins. A diode-array detector was employed. For anthocyanins determination was chosen wavelength of 518 nm. Cyanidin-3-glucosylrutinoside and cyanidin-3-rutinoside were major anthocyanins. The total anthocyanin content in sour cherries, (expressed as cyanidin-3-glucosylrutinoside) varied from 2.7 to 28.0 mg/100 g of fresh weight, with the highest content being observed in Oblainska cultivar.  相似文献

The population which is below the poverty line is devoid of nutritious diet. Egg and milk are categorized as complete foods. The defensive organizations are situated in such remote places where fresh food material is not available. Keeping in view these problems, the study of organoleptic variables, viz., color, appearance, aroma, texture and taste in the food products of cake, omelet doughnut, coconut macaroon and mayonnaise from fresh egg and egg powder, was conducted. Principal component analysis was carried out. Organoleptic properties of doughnut prepared from egg powder were superior compared to fresh egg which had better sensory traits for coconut macaroon. The sensory traits like taste, texture and aroma were the most influential traits studied to pronouncing as a panel decision. It is proposed that fresh egg and egg powder should be preferred in the process of preparation of coconut macaroon and doughnut, respectively.  相似文献

Active transparent façades constitute a building envelope component that is becoming more and more common in high-rise office buildings. Many designers have opted for a ventilated façade, claiming that this technology is sustainable, reduces energy consumption and enhances indoor comfort conditions, but these claims have often proved to be wrong. From the thermofluid-dynamic analysis point of view, few design procedures or sufficiently detailed, reliable and easy to use simulation software are available for ventilated façades. A numerical model that has been developed to simulate the thermal behaviour of mechanically ventilated active transparent façades is presented in this paper. The model, developed in the Simulink/Matlab® environment, simulates the façade in both steady-state and transient conditions and provides the temperature of the different layers of the façade structure and the corresponding heat fluxes as output data. The model has been validated by comparing the simulation results with experimental data obtained in the laboratory. A test has also been performed on a real façade under actual operating conditions. The model performance has resulted to be quite promising. The accuracy of the prediction of the temperature is good, while the simulations of the heat fluxes are slightly less reliable for some operative conditions.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the examination method of choice for the diagnosis of a variety of diseases. MRI allows us to obtain not only anatomical information but also identification of physiological and functional parameters such as networks in the brain and tumor cellularity, which plays an increasing role in oncologic imaging, as well as blood flow and tissue perfusion. However, in many cases such as in epilepsy, degenerative neurological diseases and oncological processes, additional metabolic and molecular information obtained by PET can provide essential complementary information for better diagnosis. The combined information obtained from MRI and PET acquired in a single imaging session allows a more accurate localization of pathological findings and better assessment of the underlying physiopathology, thus providing a more powerful diagnostic tool. Two hundred and twenty-one patients were scanned from April 2011 to January 2012 on a Philips Ingenuity TF PET/MRI system. The purpose of this review article is to provide an overview of the techniques used for the optimization of different protocols performed in our hospital by specialists in the following fields: neuroradiology, head and neck, breast, and prostate imaging. This paper also discusses the different problems encountered, such as the length of studies, motion artifacts, and accuracy of image fusion including physical and technical aspects, and the proposed solutions.  相似文献
