The structure and the electrical, mechanical and optical properties of few-layer graphene (FLG) synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on a Ni-coated substrate were studied. Atomic resolution transmission electron microscope (TEM) images show highly crystalline single-layer parts of the sample changing to multi-layer domains where crystal boundaries are connected by chemical bonds. This suggests two different growth mechanisms. CVD and carbon segregation participate in the growth process and are responsible for the different structural formations found. Measurements of the electrical and mechanical properties on the centimeter scale provide evidence of a large scale structural continuity: (1) in the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity, a non-zero value near 0 K indicates the metallic character of electronic transport; (2) Young’s modulus of a pristine polycarbonate film (1.37 GPa) improves significantly when covered with FLG (1.85 GPa). The latter indicates an extraordinary Young modulus value of the FLG-coating of TPa orders of magnitude. Raman and optical spectroscopy support the previous conclusions. The sample can be used as a flexible and transparent electrode and is suitable for use as special membranes to detect and study individual molecules in high-resolution TEM.  相似文献

Ohmic heating of milk and fruit and vegetable juices was carried out at several incubation temperatures to investigate inactivation of alkaline phosphatase, pectin methylesterase and peroxidase. Mechanisms of inactivation of these enzymes and corresponding kinetic models were verified for each food material, using the multitemperature evaluation of inactivation data. Compared to inactivation by conventional indirect heating, kinetic parameters were changed but inactivation mechanisms remained the same. The kinetic parameter changes were relatively minor for pectin methylesterase and alkaline phosphatase. A significant destabilization of the labile isozyme fraction of peroxidase occurred by the effect of ohmic heating when the greatest decrease of stability was obtained for carrot juice.  相似文献

The phosphorus grain boundary segregation at 853 K was investigated in three low alloy steels with different vanadium content. Kinetic dependence of the phosphorus grain boundary concentration was determined experimentally by means of AES and described theoretically, as well. To assess the influence of the individual alloying elements on the phosphorus segregation, the metal composition of carbide phases at 853 K was predicted by means of thermodynamic calculations and confirmed by experimental measurements (TEM + EDX). The vanadium was found to enhance the phosphorus grain boundary segregation by reducing the amount of dissolved and segregated carbon. Thereby, the equilibrium of mutual displacement C (segregated) ? P (segregated) was shifted to more phosphorus segregation. The results achieved indicate that vanadium indirectly increases sensitivity of low alloy steels to intergranular embrittlement.  相似文献

Poly (vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) has been widely explored to produce polymer nanocomposites possessing outstanding combinations of properties. In this work, the impact of extensional melt flows on the dispersion, relaxation and crystallinity of PVDF nanocomposites filled with multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and montmorillonites (MMT) was studied. Extrusion was employed to produce nanocomposites containing 3 wt% of fillers, named: (i) PVDF/3 wt% MWCNT, (ii) PVDF/3wt%MMT, and (iii) PVDF/1.5wt%MWCNT/1.5 wt% MMT. The results showed that applying a sequence of extensional flows through the melts improved the dispersion of both fillers in the PVDF matrix. Moreover, extensional flows significantly enhanced the viscosity and relaxation of MWCNT nanocomposite, but had marginal effects on MMT nanocomposite. On the other hand, MMT favored the crystallization of the β piezoelectric phase of PVDF over the α phase and the extensional flow enhanced its crystallinity content. Therefore, these new insights prospect a vast horizon toward the use of extensional flows for tailoring synergic combinations of properties in hybrid PVDF/MWCNT/MMT systems.  相似文献

The electrochemical parameters of a novel binder-free self-standing biomimetic cathode based on lithium manganese oxide (LMO) and carbon nanotubes (CNT) for rechargeable Lithium-ion aqueous batteries (ReLIAB) are improved using polyaniline (PANI) core-shell in situ polymerization and graphene (Gr). The fabricated cathode material exhibits the so-called “tectonic plate island bridge” biomimetic structure. This constitution is created by combining three components as shown by a SEM and a TEM analysis: the Gr substrates support an entangled matrix of conductive CNT which connect island of non-conductive inorganic material composed of LMO. The typical spinel structure of the LMO remains unchanged after modifying the basic structure with Gr and PANI due to a simplified hydrothermal method used for synthesis. The Gr and PANI core-shell coating improves the electric conductivity from 0.0025 S/cm up to 1 S/cm. The electrochemical performances of the LMO/CNT-Gr/PANI composite electrode are optimized up to 136 mA h g−1 compared to 111 mA h g−1 of the LMO/CNT. Besides that, the new electrode shows good cycling stability after 200 galvanostatic charging/discharging cycles, making this structure a future candidate for cathode materials for ReLIAB.  相似文献

Background: Dissemination of breast cancer (BC) cells through the hematogenous or lymphogenous vessels leads to metastatic disease in one-third of BC patients. Therefore, we investigated the new prognostic features for invasion and metastasis. Methods: We evaluated the expression of miRNAs and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) genes in relation to CDH1/E-cadherin changes in samples from 31 patients with invasive ductal BC including tumor centrum (TU-C), tumor invasive front (TU-IF), lymph node metastasis (LNM), and CD45-depleted blood (CD45-DB). Expression of miRNA and mRNA was quantified by RT-PCR arrays and associations with clinico-pathological characteristics were statistically evaluated by univariate and multivariate analysis. Results: We did not verify CDH1 regulating associations previously described in cell lines. However, we did detect extremely high ZEB1 expression in LNMs from patients with distant metastasis, but without regulation by miR-205-5p. Considering the ZEB1 functions, this overexpression indicates enhancement of metastatic potential of lymphogenously disseminated BC cells. In CD45-DB samples, downregulated miR-205-5p was found in those expressing epithelial and/or mesenchymal markers (CTC+) that could contribute to insusceptibility and survival of hematogenously disseminated BC cells mediated by increased expression of several targets including ZEB1. Conclusions: miR-205-5p and potentially ZEB1 gene are promising candidates for markers of metastatic potential in ductal BC.  相似文献

The goal of the present study was to characterize changes in serum trace mineral concentrations in cattle with experimentally induced Staphylococcus aureus mastitis. Nine primiparous Holstein-Friesian cattle were challenged with approximately 150 cfu of Staph. aureus ATCC29740 by intramammary infusion on d 6, 7, and 8 of lactation. Serum Cu, Zn, and Fe concentrations were determined immediately before and at 24, 48, and 72 h after the final intramammary infusion of Staph. aureus. Infection status (cfu/mL of Staph. aureus), milk somatic cell count, and mastitis score were also determined at these times. Infection resulted in a decrease in mean serum Cu, Zn, and Fe concentrations to 89, 83, and 81% of preinfection concentrations at 24 h postchallenge. One-way analysis of variance for repeated measures demonstrated a significant change in serum zinc concentration. The reductions in trace mineral concentrations were of less magnitude than observed following experimental E. coli mastitis.  相似文献
