Iron-based rare-earth ternary alloys with a high energy product came into prominence recently as permanent magnetic materials. Also, a large number of iron-based ternary phase diagrams were critically evaluated and published recently as monographs under the auspices of the International Programme for Alloy Phase Diagram Data. This review presents a brief comparison of the data on crystal structures of ternary compounds and the corresponding phase diagrams for a number of ternary iron rare-earth (RE) X series: B-Fe-RE, C-Fe-RE, Fe-N-RE, Al-Fe-RE, Co-Fe-RE, Fe-Ni-RE, and Fe-RE(1)-RE(2). It is hoped that this exercise will aid in pinpointing discrepancies and planning future investigations on ternary compounds and phase equilibria in unexplored systems.  相似文献

Bilirubin, a bile pigment, was studied for its extent of adsorption on substituted aminechloromethyl polystyrene by UV spectrophotometry. By performing simple displacement reactions on chloromethyl polystyrene with secondary and tertiary amines, the amount of charge density and steric factor on substituted nitrogen atom have been varied. Adsorption isotherms of bilirubin at 0°C by different amine–chloromethyl polystyrene homologs suggest the existence of electrostatic interaction of polymeric resin with bilirubin moiety. Results of adsorption of bilirubin to polymeric resin have shown that the extent of adsorption of bilirubin depends on the unit charge, and on the structure of the substituted amine–chloromethyl polystyrene. The effects of porosity of resin on bilirubin adsorption have also been discussed.  相似文献

Sorption, diffusion, and swelling characteristics of sodium alginate and its blend membranes with poly(vinyl alcohol) were investigated for water–acetic acid mixtures by using a gravimetric method at 30, 40, and 50°C. The membranes were characterized by X‐ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared techniques. Concentration‐independent diffusion coefficients were obtained by applying Fick's relationship before completion of equilibrium sorption. Permeation coefficients were calculated from sorption and diffusion coefficients. Concentration profiles of liquids were computed considering the sheet geometry for the membrane by solving Fick's equation under suitable boundary conditions. Arrhenius activation parameters were computed for the transport processes. The influence of toughener and clay concentration on the morphology and mechanical properties of three-phase, rubber-modified epoxy nanocomposites was studied. Nanocomposite samples were prepared by adding octadecyl ammonium ion exchanged clay to a dispersion of pre-formed acrylic rubber particles in liquid epoxy, so as to minimize alteration to the rubber morphology in the final cured specimen. The state of clay platelet exfoliation and rubber dispersion in the cured nanocomposites was studied using transmission electron microscopy. The amounts of clay platelet separation and dispersion of clay aggregates in the epoxy matrix were found to be sensitive to clay and toughener concentration, and clay platelets preferentially adsorb to the rubber particles. Tensile modulus and strength increase and ductility decreases with increasing organoclay content, while rubber has the opposite effects on the properties of epoxy resin. When both additives are present in epoxy resin, a favorable combination is produced: ductility is enhanced without compromising modulus and strength. Modulus and strength are improved by nano and micro dispersion of nanoclay in the epoxy matrix, whereas elongation and toughness are improved by clay adsorption to the rubber particle surface, which promotes cavitation. The glass transition temperature of epoxy resin remains relatively unchanged with clay addition.  相似文献

Low-Temperature Drying Using a Versatile Heat Pump Dehumidifier   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A drying system incorporating a commercial 2.3 kW heat pump dehumidifier was designed and constructed. The HPD was equipped with an external water-cooled condenser that rejected excess heat out of the system. The design of the system allowed for conducting drying with recirculation of air as well as use of electrical heaters. In an open mode, the drying could be carried out simultaneously with room dehumidification and water heating in the secondary condenser. Drying experiments were conducted with apple and comparisons were made between HPD assisted drying (partial and complete) and hot air drying (at 45 and 65°C). The HPD dried fruit exhibited better rehydration properties than the hot air dried samples. Water activity of the HPD dried samples was noticeably lower than that of the hot air dried samples at the same water content, indicating that the residual moisture was probably held under higher tension in the former. In terms of energy consumption, the process of HPD assisted drying is more expensive as much of the energy input is rejected at the secondary condenser as excess heat.  相似文献

Major limitation for use of epoxy thermosets in engineering applications is its sudden brittle failure. In the present study dipropylene glycol dibenzoate (DPGDB) based plasticizer is used to modify diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DEGEBA) based epoxy resin system via simple blending technique. Bio-based epoxidized linseed oil was also used to modify epoxy resin system and compared with DPGDB modified resin. For DPGDB modified resin storage modulus and loss modulus of the epoxy system modified with 10% plasticizer increased by 7.54% and 12.24%, respectively. The primary mechanism responsible for such behavior is improved crosslinking density. With 5% plasticizer loading, flexural strength increased by 21%. There was an improvement of 312.74% in strain at failure for 10% plasticizer loading, while preserving its mechanical strength. It was found that DPGDB based modification was better than epoxidized linseed oil modification.  相似文献

We present a randomized EREW PRAM algorithm to find a minimum spanning forest in a weighted undirected graph. On an n -vertex graph the algorithm runs in o(( log n) 1+ ɛ ) expected time for any ɛ >0 and performs linear expected work. This is the first linear-work, polylog-time algorithm on the EREW PRAM for this problem. This also gives parallel algorithms that perform expected linear work on two general-purpose models of parallel computation—the QSM and the BSP.  相似文献
