Depth of an object concerns a tradeoff between computation time and excess of program length over the shortest program length
required to obtain the object. It gives an unconditional lower bound on the computation time from a given program in absence
of auxiliary information. Variants known as logical depth and computational depth are expressed in Kolmogorov complexity theory.
We derive quantitative relation between logical depth and computational depth and unify the different depth notions by relating them to A. Kolmogorov and L. Levin’s fruitful notion of randomness deficiency. Subsequently, we revisit

Peculiarities of color center production and their photostimulable recombination in doped alkali halide thin films have been analysed with regard to their availability as active highly sensitive luminescent storage media for fast optical data processing. It is concluded that the radiation defects in all the doped systems are spatially distributed in the near vicinity of the dopants. The influence of the surface is clearly pronounced in polycrystalline films. The escape of unrelaxed H-centers from the surface considerably changes the distribution of F- and dopant hole centers, forming an interacting F-center chain near the surface of grains. This is why temperature-independent F-center production and photostimulable recombination between distant pairs is observed in doped nanostructures. A brief survey is given about recent results in the identification of semiochemicals in bark beetles: Males ofIps sexdentatus (Boern.), stressed by the attack on resinous trees produce large amounts of 3(S)-1-methyl-5-(1-hydroxyl-1-methylethyl)-cyclohexa-1,3-diene. The compound appears to be derived from 3-carene and acts as a repellent. Males ofIps typographus (L.), stressed through the attack on unsuitable host material release 3-methyl-7-methylene-1,3(E), 8-nonatriene, which seems to act as a repellent. The odor bouquet of three species ofPityogenes is described. The occurrence of (+)-grandisol and other compounds related to weevil pheromones points to a close relation between Scolytidae and Curculionidae. Females ofDendroctonus simplex (Le Conte) use (–)-frontalin as the main pheromone. 6-Methyl-6-hepten-2-one, a minor component among the volatile compounds released by the females, is regarded as a possible precursor of frontalin. Similarly, (2R,5S)-2(1-hydroxyl-1-methylethyl)-5-methyltetrahydrofuran, pityol, a pheromone ofPityophthorus spp., is regarded to at least share a common biogenetic precursor with 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-ol, sulcatol. A new bicylic acetal, 2-ethyl-1,5-dimethyl-6,8-dioxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane, is described as an aggregation pheromone of the beech bark beetle,Taphrorychus bicolor (Herbst). Summary. We present the first explicit, and currently simplest, randomized algorithm for two-process wait-free test-and-set. It is
implemented with two 4-valued single writer single reader atomic variables. A test-and-set takes at most 11 expected elementary
steps, while a reset takes exactly 1 elementary step. Based on a finite-state analysis, the proofs of correctness and expected
length are compressed into one table.

We compare the elementary theories of Shannon information and Kolmogorov complexity, the extent to which they have a common purpose, and wherethey are fundamentally different. We discuss and relate the basicnotions of both theories: Shannon entropy, Kolmogorov complexity, Shannon mutual informationand Kolmogorov (``algorithmic') mutual information. We explainhow universal coding may be viewed as a middle ground betweenthe two theories. Tocochromanols composition in apple seeds, obtained as a by-product during the fruit salad and juice production, of twelve varieties - seven crab apple (‘Kerr’, ‘Kuku’, ‘Quaker Beauty’, ‘Riku’, ‘Ritika’, ‘Ruti’ and K-8/9-24) and five dessert apples (‘Antej’, ‘Beforest’, ‘Kent’, ‘Sinap Orlovskij’ and ‘Zarja Alatau’) were studied. Tocopherols and tocotrienols were isolated using the micro-saponification method of high precision and accuracy and they were analysedanalysed by rapid RP-HPLC/FLD and RP-UPLC-ESI/MSn. Four tocopherols, with predominance of homologues α and β, were detected in each tested sample. The seeds from two apple cultivars ‘Antej’ and ‘Beforest’ were characterized by unique and similar ratios of all four tocopherol homologues α:β:γ:δ (1.7:1.5:1.3:1.0 and 2.1:2.0:1.3:1.0, respectively). The concentration range of individual tocopherol homologues (α, β, γ and δ) in apple seeds were as follows: 17.22–25.79, 7.53–29.05, 0.61–13.82 and 0.16–10.79 mg/100 g dry weight basis (dwb), respectively. Moreover, three tocotrienols (α, β and γ) were identified in lesser amounts (0.02–0.74 mg/100 g dwb). Use of apple seeds to isolate tocopherol homologues can ensure better environmental sustainability and effective use of natural plant material. 相似文献

The size of the indigestible fraction of, and the availability of starch in, commercial frozen and canned peas was studied
in vitro. The total dietary fibre content, as determined by chemical analysis, was similar in both samples (27%); nevertheless,
appreciable amounts of resistant starch (4.4–6.9%) and resistant protein (4.7–5.4%) were found in the insoluble dietary fibre
gravimetric residue. Other indigestible components of the pea were an additional fraction of resistant starch, not associated
with insoluble dietary fibre, and the oligosaccharides inulin and stachyose. The total amount of starch (25.8–36.1%) was very
different between frozen and canned samples, and was inversely correlated with their sucrose contents (14.2–6.7%). Our results
indicate that 35–40% of the dry weight of peas is not digested in vitro and that the relative rate of glucose release by α-amylase
hydrolysis seems to be decreased in the presence of resistant starch.

A sensitive LC-MS/MS method for the determination of glyphosate in beer has been developed, validated, and applied to analyse 100 beer samples from 24 different producers and distributors in Latvia. The selected samples represented most beer brands and varieties sold in local supermarkets. Different procedures for sample preparation and chromatographic separation were compared. The final version of the method consisted of solid phase extraction, chromatographic separation on aminopropyl stationary phase, and detection using tandem mass spectrometry. The concentration of glyphosate in beer varied from below the LOD of 0.2 μg kg?1 up to 150 μg kg?1, higher than previously reported. Significantly higher (p < 0.01) content of glyphosate was observed in beers that did not have the country of production disclosed on the label and were sold in local supermarkets by distributors from Latvia (1.8 μg kg?1 median concentration in locally produced beer, 6.7 μg kg?1 in beer of undisclosed origin). 相似文献
