Temporal message-flow diagrams (TMFDs), alternatively called sequence charts, interaction diagrams, event traces, or actor diagrams, are illustrations of a system's global message-passing activity over time, and a pictorial aid to understanding the system's behavior. They are widely used for requirements and documentation for network protocols and object-oriented applications. We present a general formalism for TMFDs, describe a suite of tools we have designed that employs this formalism, and present our experiences with these tools. The formalism and tools described serve to support and broaden the use of TMFDs in developing communicating systems.  相似文献

We analysed 42 differentiated thyroid tumors including 15 follicular adenomas (FA), 13 papillary thyroid cancers (PTC) and 14 follicular thyroid carcinomas (FTC) with 13 microsatellite markers specific for the long arm of human chromosome 7 within 7q31; this region is deleted frequently in several other tumor types. Overall, 20 of the 42 samples analysed (48%) displayed LOH with one or more of the markers tested. LOH was detected most frequently (78%) in FTC, the most malignant of the thyroid tumors. A smallest common deleted region (SCDR) was defined in this tumor type flanked by markers D7S480 and D7S490. This SCDR is distinct from D7S522, the most commonly deleted locus in many other tumors, which was deleted in only one FTC. D7S522 did show LOH in two of six informative PTCs. None of the PTC and only two of the FAs showed LOH in the FTC SCDR. Since FA is considered a premalignant stage of FTC, our results suggest that inactivation of a putative tumor suppressor at 7q31.2 may be acquired during adenoma to carcinoma progression. The absence of LOH at this locus amongst PTC suggests that inactivation of this tumor suppressor is specific for FTC. In conclusion, LOH at 7q31 is a frequent event in differentiated thyroid cancer, and we have defined a 2 cM SCDR specific for FTC.  相似文献

Encapsulation of soluble protein antigens in liposomes was previously shown to result in processing of antigen via the major histocompatibility complex class I pathway, as evidenced by costaining of the trans-Golgi region of murine bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMs) by fluorophore-labeled liposomal antigen and by a trans-Golgi-specific fluorescent lipid. Evidence is presented here that free or liposome-encapsulated RTS,S, a particulate malaria antigen consisting of hepatitis B particles coexpressed with epitopes from the Plasmodium falciparum circumsporozoite protein, also was localized in the trans-Golgi after incubation with BMs, suggesting processing by the class I pathway. An in vivo cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) response was detected, however, only after immunization with RTS,S encapsulated in liposomes containing lipid A and not after immunization with free RTS,S or with RTS,S encapsulated in liposomes lacking lipid A. Therefore, intracellular delivery of antigen containing CTL epitopes to the Golgi of BMs does not necessarily result in a CTL response in vivo unless an additional adjuvant, such as liposomes containing lipid A, is utilized. Encapsulation of RTS,S in liposomes containing monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL) resulted in a dose-dependent enhancement of the NANP-specific immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody response compared to that of free RTS,S. The IgG1 and IgG2a subclasses predominated after immunization with RTS,S encapsulated in liposomes containing MPL. These results demonstrate that encapsulation of a lipid-containing particulate antigen, such as RTS, S, in liposomes containing lipid A can enhance both humoral and cellular immune responses.  相似文献

On 2 October 1996, IBM announced the formation of a new business alliance which will develop a different approach to law enforcement — accessible encryption that will not face government export controls or require the ‘escrowing’ of keys with either escrow ‘quote agents’ or trusted third parties. The day before, the White House announced a new government plan that would permit companies that promise to participate in a ‘key recovery’ system to receive a six-month license to export up to 56-bit DES encryption. When they fulfill their obligations and the government is satisfied that it can get access to the decryption keys, the 56-bit limit will be lifted. If, by the end of the two-year grace period, companies have not fulfilled their obligations to implement a key-recovery scheme, the 56-bit limit will be reduced to the current 40-bit export limit.  相似文献

Model structures for the pore of the potassium channels Shakerand ROMK1 are predicted. The models arise from computer simulationsand suggest reasons for the striking selectivity of these channelsfor K+ and the blocking of ROMK1 by internal Mg2+. The modelledstructure of the Shaker pore is supported by mutagenesis data.The mutagenesis experiments indicate the side chains responsiblefor binding to blocking agents [tetraethylammonium (TEA) andcharybdotoxin (CTX)] and the model has these side chains suitablyoriented for binding. An aromatic K+ binding site part way downthe pore is also predicted by the Shaker pore model.  相似文献

The reactions of titanium carbide and hafnium carbide with iridium have been studied in thin film couples fabricated by vapor deposition processes. The reaction product layers after exposure in the temperature range of 1923 to 2400 K are dependent on the stoichiometry of the metal carbide layers and range from simple solid solutions to MIrx compounds. The observed microstructures are predictable from available thermochemical data. The morphology of residual carbon in the reacted metal carbide-iridium product layer varies from interfacial deposits to uniform carbon dispersion and depends upon exposure temperature and metal carbide stoichiometry.  相似文献

The triplet-triplet spectra of three commercial anthraquinone vat dyes (C.I. 67300, C.I. 59100 and C.I. 60515) were studied in solution at room temperature using laser photolysis. The triplet states of these dyes react with oxygen, and the rate constants for the quenching process were measured, together with the rates of energy transfer from the triplet state to anthracene. These observations are considered in relation to the photoreactivity of these dyes.  相似文献

A mathematical model has been developed to predict So2 absorption and removal during the constant rate drying period of a spray dryer. The model, based on film theory, treats the atomized slurry droplets as spheres containing discrete sorbent particles of slaked lime with the fluid uniformly distributed around the individual particles. The model includes gas and liquid phase mass transfer coefficients as well as resistance to Ca(OH)2 dissolution. A sensitivity analysis has been conducted and a comparison was made between pilot-scale experimental data and model-predicted values of S02 removal efficiency.  相似文献
