The ISFET (ion-sensitive field-effect transistor) pH sensor is first matched with a MOSFET at the differential input stage of a CMOS operational amplifier (called the ISFET-operational amplifier) to cancel out the temperature sensitivity. Then, the output of an ISFET-operational amplifier with a Ta2O5/SiO2 gate (58-59 mV/pH) ISFET is differentially amplified against the output of another on-chip ISFET-operational amplifier with a SiOx Ny/Si3N4/SiO2 gate ISFET (18-20-mV/pH). An on-chip noble metal counterelectrode serves as the electrical contact to define the electric potential of the electrolyte. No external reference electrode is required. The difference measurement technique achieves (1) common-mode rejection of the solution potential, and (2) relaxation of the requirement that the on-chip reference electrode be ideal. The CMOS-compatible ISFET process is modified from a standard self-aligned polysilicon gate CMOS process with minimal process redesign. The standard CMOS sequence is unaltered until the contact windows are opened. Fire is a major risk in the event of subway train fire due to coincidence with direction of smoke flow and evacuation. As a part of an effort to improve the life safety in a train fire, the platform screen door (PSD) is more and more installed on the ground that PSD provides a lot of benefits to passenger’s safety. Therefore, the investigation of effect of PSD on life safety is needed. In this study, fire simulation and evacuation simulation are performed to estimate the effect of PSD and ventilation on passenger’s life safety in a subway train fire. The Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS V406) code is used to predict smoke spread and the available safe egress time during the fire. The evacuation of a subway station due to a train fire is simulated to predict the time required for evacuation, obtaining travel speed as a function of density. The passengers in platform with PSD and ventilation system have much more available time of about 350 s than passengers in case without PSD and ventilation system in modeled subway station. The subway turnstiles (ticket gate) dramatically increase the time required for evacuation without moving toward exits and bring passenger’s life safety danger in a subway train fire. 相似文献

In this letter, the uncertainties on the angles of propagation of a plane wave in a bio electromagnetic application are studied using two non intrusive stochastic collocation methods. The proposed techniques are used in this application, which employs a finite-difference time-domain scheme, but they can be used when applying other kinds of methods without modifying programs. The results obtained using the two approaches are compared. The stochastic collocation methods are used to determine the influence of the uncertainty on the angle of propagation of a plane wave on the obtained specific absorption rate. In this article, a brief introduction to the development of tunable filters was given. A classical design technique based on a combline filter approach was shown, where minimum degradation in passband performance could be obtained across a broad-tuning range. The fundamental disadvantages associated with the conventional resonator tuning approaches were also discussed, recognizing the importance of developing new techniques for realizing tunable microwave filters. It was shown that there is a possibility in realizing an electronically reconfigurable microwave filter based on parallel- coupled switched-delay lines, which possesses the important property of maintaining constant absolute bandwidth over almost an octave of tuning bandwidth. Furthermore, the filter has the ability to incorporate active switching elements in the filter circuit, without sacrificing its loss and linearity performance. With the exceptional linearity performance and power handling capability, the filter is readily adapted to poor environments. Although the use of p-i-n diodes as switching elements would result in large dc consumption, the approach could also be readily adapted for use with any switches, such as pHEMT or RF MEMS switches, to achieve extremely low power consumption. The effects of filler size on the properties of a thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) blend were examined by using wollastonite and talc with particle sizes ranging from 1.2 to 40 μm. While addition of filler produced significant changes in the mechanical properties of the blend, filler size affected only impact strength. However, filler size, filler coating, and injection speed had a major effect on the surface properties of the blend. Faster injection produced denser “shear zone layers” which exhibited better scratch resistance and poorer paint adhesion than those obtained with slower injection. Scartch resistance and paint adhesion also decreased with increasing filler particle size. Filler coatings altered the scratch and adhesion properties of the polypropylene (PP) blends. 相似文献

Genetic engineering of a novel protein–nanoparticle hybrid system with great potential for biosensing applications and for patterning of various types of nanoparticles is described. The hybrid system is based on a genetically modified chaperonin protein from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus shibatae. This chaperonin is an 18‐subunit double ring, which self‐assembles in the presence of Mg ions and ATP. Described here is a mutant chaperonin (His‐β‐loopless, HBLL) with increased access to the central cavity and His‐tags on each subunit extending into the central cavity. This mutant binds water‐soluble semiconductor quantum dots, creating a protein‐encapsulated fluorescent nanoparticle. The new bioconjugate has high affinity, in the order of strong antibody–antigen interactions, a one‐to‐one protein–nanoparticle stoichiometry, and high stability. By adding selective binding sites to the solvent‐exposed regions of the chaperonin, this protein–nanoparticle bioconjugate becomes a sensor for specific targets. 相似文献

We propose a novel metric ATEC for automatic MT evaluation based on explicit assessment of word choice and word order in an MT output in comparison to its reference translation(s), the two most fundamental factors in the construction of meaning for a sentence. The former is assessed by matching word forms at various linguistic levels, including surface form, stem, sound and sense, and further by weighing the informativeness of each word. The latter is quantified in term of the discordance of word position and word sequence between a translation candidate and its reference. In the evaluations using the MetricsMATR08 data set and the LDC MTC2 and MTC4 corpora, ATEC demonstrates an impressive positive correlation to human judgments at the segment level, highly comparable to the few state-of-the-art evaluation metrics. 相似文献

This study was performed to resolve the problem of cracks caused by the rapid hydration heat produced during the early setting stages of rapid‐hardening cement. To address the hydration heat of rapid‐hardening cement, we prepared a modified rapid‐hardening cement using calcium sulfoaluminate clinker combined with a styrene butadiene (SB) polymer. The performance of SB polymeric emulsion‐modified concrete made from modified rapid‐hardening cement was assessed by determining shrinkage (change in length, and plastic and autogenous shrinkage). Structural evolution during heat treatment of melt spun Ti36Y20Al24Co20 alloy was studied using differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffractometry and transmission electron microscopy. The as-melt spun Ti36Y20Al24Co20 specimen showed a hierarchical complex microstructure consisting of Ti-rich and Y-rich amorphous phases and crystallized with two-step process. Crystallization in the phase separated two phase mixture took place in a confined mode due to different thermal stability and complex microstructure, resulting in various nano-scaled microstructural formation ranging from fine distribution of crystalline particles in amorphous matrix to fine distribution of amorphous particles in crystalline matrix. 相似文献
