Experimental results for hydrogen storage tanks with metal hydrides used for load leveling of electricity in commercial buildings are described. Variability in electricity demand due to air conditioning of commercial buildings necessitates installation of on-site energy storage. Here, we propose a totalized hydrogen energy utilization system (THEUS) as an on-site energy storage system, present feasibility test results for this system with a metal hydride tank, and discuss the energy efficiency of the system. This system uses a water electrolyzer to store electricity energy via hydrogen at night and uses fuel cells to generate power during the day. The system also utilizes the cold heat of reaction heat during the hydrogen desorption process for air conditioning. The storage tank has a shell-like structure and tube heat exchangers and contains 50 kg of metal hydride. Experimental conditions were specifically designed to regulate the pressure and temperature range. Absorption and desorption of 5,400 NL of hydrogen was successfully attained when the absorption rate was 10 NL/min and desorption rate was 6.9 NL/min. A 24-h cycle experiment emulating hydrogen generation at night and power generation during the day revealed that the system achieved a ratio of recovered thermal energy to the entire reaction heat of the hydrogen storage system of 43.2% without heat loss.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  Eriocitrin (eriodictyol 7- O -β-rutinoside) is the main flavonoid in lemon fruit. In this study, eriocitrin was investigated for its lowering effect on serum and hepatic lipids in high-fat and high-cholesterol fed rats. Rats in the control group ( N = 6) were fed a 20% lard and 1% cholesterol diet for 21 d, and rats in the 0.35% eriocitrin group ( N = 6) and 0.70% eriocitrin group ( N = 6) were fed a diet supplemented with eriocitrin 0.35% and 0.70%, respectively. The content of hepatic total cholesterol and triglyceride in the eriocitrin group was no different from that of the control group. The total cholesterol, VLDL+LDL, triglyceride, and phospholipid in the serum of the 0.35% eriocitrin group showed significantly lower concentrations than the control group ( P < 0.05), although there was no difference in the HDL concentrations among the groups. The lowering effect of eriocitrin for serum total cholesterol was thought to be caused by a decrease in VLDL+LDL. The 0.35% eriocitrin group was shown to have a significant increase in excretion of fecal bile acid ( P < 0.05) and a tendency for enhanced hepatic m-RNA levels of LDL receptor in comparison with the control group.  相似文献

Stainless steel is quite attractive as bipolar plate material for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs). Passive film on stainless steel protects the bulk of it from corrosion. However, passive film is composed of mixed metal oxides and causes a decrease in the interfacial contact resistance (ICR) between the bipolar plate and gas diffusion layer. Low ICR and high corrosion resistance are both required. In order to impart low ICR to stainless steel (SUS304), carbon-coating was prepared by using plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition. Carbon-coated SUS304 was characterized by Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. Anodic polarization behavior under PEFC operating conditions (H2SO4 solution bubbled with H2 (anode)/O2 (cathode) containing 2 ppm HF at 80 °C) was examined. Based on the results of the ICR evaluated before and after anodic polarization, the potential for using carbon-coated SUS304 as bipolar plate material for PEFC was discussed.  相似文献

We have developed an optimal growth procedure for gas-source MBE production of a GaInP/GaAs heterointerface. The interface quality is crucial to obtaining high-performance GaAs solar cells with a GaInP barrier layer because minority carrier lifetime depends strongly on the interface structure. In situ Reflective High-Energy Electron Diffraction (RHEED) observation during the growth across the GaInP/GaAs heterointerface revealed that the phosphorus atoms are replaced by arsenic atoms in the near-interface region of the GaInP layer, and a transient layer acting as a carrier trap is formed. Introduction of a GaP layer into the interface was found to be effective in suppressing carrier loss. From Composition Analysis by Thickness Fringe-Transmission Electron Microscopy (CAT-TEM) images, it was also found that the optimum thickness of inserted GaP to avoid the generation of misfit dislocations is 1 nm.  相似文献

We report on process damage free thin-film GaAs cells detached from the GaAs substrates. GaAs cells grown by gas-source MBE were thinned by the epitaxial liftoff (ELO) technique. Photoluminescence spectroscopy showed a peak splitting in the band emission, indicating that a strain was induced in the thin-film cell fixed on the quartz glass substrate. The strain, however, was found not to affect the quality of the thin-film cells, based on the fact that the peak intensity was almost twice that before ELO. The thin-film GaAs cells showed no evidence of degradation in diode characteristics and spectral responses. The keys to avoiding damage on the active region of the solar cell during the thinning process are the introducing a GaInP window layer and improving the thin film process including metallization on thin film cells. These results demonstrates that the thinning and transfer processes dol-not affect the quality of the active region of the cells.  相似文献

In present study, the collapse of void bubble in liquid has been simulated using moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) code. The liquid is described using moving particles and the bubble–liquid interface was set to be vacuum pressure boundary without interfacial heat mass transfer. The topological shape of bubble can be traced according to the motion and location of interfacial particles. The time dependent bubble diameter, interfacial velocity and bubble collapse time were obtained under wide parametric range. The comparison with Rayleigh and Zababakhin's prediction showed a good agreement which validates the applicability and accuracy on MPS method in solving present momentum problems. The potential void induced water hammer pressure pulse was also evaluated which is instructive for further material erosion study. The bubble collapse with non-condensable gas has been further simulated and the rebound phenomenon was successfully captured which is similar with vapor-filled cavitation phenomenon. The present study exhibits some fundamental characteristics of void bubble hydrodynamics and it is also expected to be instructive for further applications of MPS method to complicated bubble dynamics problems.  相似文献

The electric properties of BaTiO3–(Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3 (BT–BNT) solid solution ceramics were studied as a lead-free PTCR (positive temperature coefficient of resistivity) thermistor material usable over 130°C. For determining the maximum switching temperature T s, the phase diagram of BT–BNT binary system was clarified. Two semiconductorization processes and their electric properties are described. The lanthanum(La)-doped BBNT ceramics sintered in air still showed dielectric behaviors, but the niobium(Nb)-doped ones had a low resistivity at room temperature, ρ RT, on the order of 103 Ωcm and showed a PTC behavior. Sintering under a low O2 atmosphere produces BT–BNT ceramics with less than 102 Ωcm compared to those prepared in air. Our current research produced the BBNT ceramics with T s values around 210°C by increasing the (Bi1/2Na1/2) content in the ceramics.  相似文献

Slags used in steelmaking and continuous casting that contain SiO2, Na2O, and CaF2 tend to be unstable and gaseous. Species, such as NaF and SiF4, evolve simultaneously from these slags at steelmaking temperatures. In addition, the reaction between NaF and SiF4 can occur to produce Na2SiF6 (sodium hexafluorosilicate). In a previous study on the vaporization of NaF into an inert gas stream, the diffusivity of NaF in argon, nitrogen, and helium was measured. In this study, the rate of NaF vaporization in a SiF4 atmosphere was measured. Ternary diffusion coefficients were then evaluated from the binary diffusion coefficients obtained in a previous study, and a kinetic analysis was carried out. The rate calculations were found to be in accord with the measured results, indicating that the experiments were carried out in a regime where diffusion of NaF from the surface of the sample was rate controlling.  相似文献

Spontaneous fluoride emissions from high-temperature processes can result in an increased atmospheric fluorine content and environmental contamination. Slags containing SiO2, Na2O, and CaF2 tend to be unstable at high temperatures, and gaseous species such as NaF and SiF4 evolve simultaneously. Furthermore, a reaction between NaF and SiF4 can occur to produce Na2SiF6 (sodium hexafluorosilicate), the behavior and properties of which are not well established. In a previous study, the diffusivity of NaF in argon, nitrogen, and helium was measured. In this study, the rate of NaF vaporization in a SiF4-Ar atmosphere was investigated and the rates of formation and dissociation of Na2SiF6 were measured. Kinetic analyses were carried out and the rate constants of the formation and dissociation of Na2SiF6 were obtained. The rate equation for Na2SiF6 formation was expressed as follows:
