This study investigated a parameter that determines an optimum condition of the content of the ionic group and the concentration of outer solution for high‐performance electro‐driven polymer hydrogel membranes. The optimum condition for quick bending was determined by a simple method that identified the initial conditions based on Donnan equilibrium theory. Since the bending behavior depends on the initial conditions of the ionic group content and the concentration of the outer solution, it can be predicted by the ratio of the ionic concentrations at the membrane–solution interface; the inverse of the Donnan ratio (1/K) at the initial condition. The bending rate of the membranes showed a maximum value at around 1/K = 0.15. The relationship between several interrelated control factors and the bending dynamics of the gel membranes was established by using the initial system parameters alone. 1/K is the effective simple parameter to determine the optimum condition of the content of the ionic group and the concentration of the outer solution for high‐performance membranes. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Functionally graded materials (FGMs) belong to a relatively new class of inhomogeneous composite materials, in which the composition and/or microstructure undergo a gradual change along some directions. In this review article, the microstructures and composition gradients in Al/SiC, Al/Shirasu (volcanic eruptions commonly found in south Kyushu in Japan), Al/Al3Ti, Al/Al3Ni, Al/Al2Cu FGMs have been investigated. The Al/SiC, Al/Shirasu and Al/Al3Ti FGMs are fabricated by the centrifugal solid particle method where the distribution particles of SiC, Shirasu and Al3Ti are solids in the melts. On the other hand, Al/Al3Ni and Al/Al2Cu FGMs are fabricated by the centrifugalin-situ method where Al/Al3Ni and Al/Al2Cu systems have lower liquidus temperatures than the processing temperatures. The feature of Al/(Al3Ti−Al3Ni) hydrid FGM, which is fabricated by a method combining both the centrifugal solid-particle andin-situ methods, is also shown.  相似文献

A monoacylglycerol lipase (MGL) was purified from Pseudomonas sp. LP7315 by ammonium sulfate precipitation, anion-exchange chromatography, and preparative electrophoresis. The purified enzyme was homogeneous on SDS-PAGE with a molecular mass of 59 kDa. Its hydrolytic activity was confirmed to be specific for monoglycerides: the enzyme did not hydrolyze di- and triglycerides. MGL was found to be stable even after 1-h incubation at 65 degrees C. The optimum pH for monopalmitin hydrolysis was approximately 8. The hydrolytic activity depended not only on temperature and pH but also on the type of monoglyceride used. MGL also catalyzed monoglyceride synthesis at 65 degrees C in a solvent-free two-phase system, in which fatty acid droplets were dispersed in the glycerol phase with a low water content. The synthetic reaction proceeded at a constant rate for approximately 24 h and approximately reached an equilibrium after 48 h of reaction. The initial rate and equilibrium yield of the synthetic reaction depended on the type of fatty acid used as the substrate.  相似文献

The thermally-controlled laser module, integrating 12 distributed feedback (DFB) lasers in the form of a 2/spl times/6 matrix to realise both high output power and wide wavelength tunability, has been fabricated. The local structure of trace amounts of lead in an adsorbent matrix that contains a high concentration of iron and magnesium (Mg6Fe2(OH)16(CO3) x 3H2O) was successfully monitored by means of X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy combined with fluorescence spectrometry. A eutectic mixture of PbCO3 and Pb(OH)2 coagulated when Pb2+ was adsorbed from a 1.0 ppm aqueous solution, and in contrast, the major species was ion-exchanged Pb2+ in the case of adsorption from a 100 ppb aqueous solution. The difference was ascribed to the balance between the precipitation equilibrium for coagulation and the rate of the ion exchange reaction with surface hydroxyl groups.  相似文献

Potentiometric pH-stat titration was performed on alkylated carbon black dispersed in aqueous solution at pH 9.0, 10.0 and 11.0 and alkaline hydrolysis rate constant of the alkylated functional groups on the carbon black was obtained therefrom. Carbon black treated with C1-C8n-alcohols in vapor or liquid phase was used in this experiment. Hydrolysis proceeded more rapidly for carbon black treated with lower alcohols. For each alkylated carbon black, the hydrolysis rate constant decreased with time and, after the hydrolysis rate diminished, a hydrolysis resistant fraction of alkylated groups remained. For example, the hydrolysis rate constants at 25°C were 24.33, 17.50 and 4.501 · mol?1 · sec?1 at 15 min and 6.00, 6.00 and 3.671 · mol?1 · sec?1 at 45 min after the start of hydrolysis at pH 9.0 for carbon black treated with C2, C3 and C4 alcohols respectively.  相似文献

Although the majority of patients with pituitary tumor, undergoing transsphenoidal microsurgery, have a low incidence of hormonal deficiency after surgery, the endocrinological evaluations should be carefully done before and after surgery. Glucocorticoid replacement is necessary in patients with Cushing's disease during and after surgery as well as those with adrenal insufficiency. Repeated CRF test is useful to assess the secondary adrenal insufficiency of Cushing's disease after surgery. Patients with impaired secretion of both ACTH and TSH should receive glucocorticoid replacement before thyroid hormone replacement in order to avoid adrenal crisis. A combination of CRF, GRF, TRH and GnRH is a safer and more reliable test to evaluate pituitary function than the conventional triple test consisting of insulin, TRH and GnRH, especially in patients predicted to have pituitary-adrenal insufficiency. Diabetes insipidus(DI), immediately after pituitary surgery, should be treated with subcutaneous injection of Pitressin. Even if patients seem to have recovered from DI several days after surgery, they must be monitored closely because of the incidence of triphasic DI. Less attention has been given to replacement for GH deficiency in adults. Recent reports revealed that GH replacement in adults with GH deficiency decreases visceral fat tissue and increases plasma calcium, phosphorus, osteocalcin and procollagen III levels. GH replacement will become more popular even in adults. Many options and technological advantages in the diagnosis and treatment of pituitary tumors have developed in a decade. In the near future, post-operative patients with pituitary tumors must be cared for in view of the "quality of life".  相似文献

A new type of undulator greatly improved in tunability as compared with a usual undulator, is proposed. The undulator has a composite magnetic field which is a linear superposition of two sinusoidally varying fields with different spatial periods. The wavelength can be changed by varying the field strength of the longer-period component while keeping that of the shorter-period component at the highest possible value. Numerical calculations of the spectral brightness were carried out. The proper ratios between the two spatial periods were found to be 3:1, 5:1 and 7:1.  相似文献
