A comparative study has been carried out on the electrical conductivity of PS, PMMA, and PVC before and after irradiation with -rays up to a dose of 100 MR, The obtained results are explained on the basis of electron trapping theory by making use of a formula suitable for calculating the characteristic parameter . Tocopherols are purified industrially from soybean oil deodorizer distillate by a process comprising distillation and ethanol
fractionation. The waste material after ethanol fractionation (TC waste) contains 75% sterols, but a purification process
has not yet been developed. We thus attempted to purify sterols by a process including a lipase-catalyzed reaction. Candida rugosa lipase efficiently esterified sterols in TC waste with oleic acid (OA). After studying several factors affecting esterification,
the reaction conditions were determined as follows: ratio of TC waste/OA, 1∶2 (wt/wt); water content, 30%; amount of lipase,
120 U/g-reaction mixture; temperature, 40°C. Under these conditions, the degree of esterification reached 82.7% after 24 h.
FA steryl esters (steryl esters) in the oil layer were purified successfully by short-path distillation (purity, 94.9%; recovery,
73.1%). When sterols in TC waste were esterified with FFA originating from olive, soybean, rapeseed, safflower, sunflower,
and linseed oils, the FA compositions of the steryl esters differed somewhat from those of the original oils: The content
of saturated FA was lower and that of unsaturated FA was higher. The m.p. of the steryl esters synthesized (21.7–36.5°C) were
remarkably low compared with those of the steryl esters purified from high-b.p. soybean oil deodorizer distillate substances
(56.5°C; JAOCS 80, 341–346, 2003). The low-m.p. steryl esters were soluble in rapeseed oil even at a final concentration of 10%. 相似文献

A kinetic study of the reaction between a tocopheroxyl radical and unsaturated fatty acid esters has been undertaken. The
rates of allylic hydrogen abstraction from various unsaturated fatty acid esters (ethyl oleate2, ethyl linoleate3, ethyl linolenate4, and ethyl arachidonate5) by the tocopheroxyl radical (5,7-diisopropyltocopheroxyl6) in benzene have been determined spectrophotometrically. The second-order rate constants, k3, obtained are 1.04×10−5 M−1s−1 for2, 1.82×10−2 M−1s−1 for3, 3.84×10−2 M−1s−1 for4, and 4.83×10−2 M−1s−1 for5 at 25.0°C. Thus, the rate constants, kabstr/H, given on an available hydrogen basis are k3/4=2.60×10−6 M−1s−1 for2, k3/2=9.10×10−3 M−1s−1 for3, k3/4=9.60×10−3 M−1s−1 for4, and k3/6=8.05×10−3 M−1s−1 for5. The kabstr/H values obtained for the polyunsaturated fatty acid esters3,4, and5 containing H-atoms activated by two π-electron systems are similar to each other, and are about three orders of magnitude
higher than that for the ethyl oleate2 containing H-atoms activated by a single π-system. From these results, it is suggested that the prooxidant effect of α-tocopherol

We attempted to produce MAG of CLA through lipase-catalyzed esterification of a FFA mixture containing CLA (referred to as
FFA-CLA) with glycerol. Screening of lipases showed that MAG-CLA was produced efficiently at 5°C with Penicillium camembertii, Rhizopus oryzae, and Candida rugosa lipases. Among them, C. rugosa lipase was selected because the lipase is widely used as a catalyst for oils and fats processing. The reaction was conducted
with agitation of a 300-g mixture of FFA-CLA/glycerol (1∶5, mol/mol), a 200-U/g mixture of C. rugosa lipase, and 2% water. When the reaction was conducted at 30°C, the esterification scarcely proceeded, owing to inhibition
of the reaction by glycerol. But the reaction at 5°C eliminated the inhibition and produced MAG efficiently: The degree of
esterification reached 93.8% after 58 h, and MAG content in the reaction mixture was 88.4 wt%. To reduce the reaction time,
the reactor was connected with a vacuum pump after 24 h, and the reaction was continued with dehydration at 5 mm Hg. The degree
of esterification reached 94.7% after 24 h of dehydration (48 h in total), and MAG content increased to 93.0 wt%. Candida rugosa lipase acted a little more strongly on cis-9, trans-11 CLA than on trans-10,cis-12 CLA, but the contents of the two isomers in MAG obtained from a 48-h reaction were the same as the contents in FFA-CLA. 相似文献

Protease activity was detected in the culture medium of Serratia marcescens AP3801 grown at 10°C, which was isolated from soil collected from the top of a mountain. The enzyme, designated as CP-58
protease, was purified to homogeneity from the culture broth by ion exchange and gel filtration chromatographies. The molecular
mass of the protease was 58 kDa, and its isoelectric point was close to 6.0. Maximal activity toward azocasein was observed
at 40°C and from pH 6.5 to 8.0. The activity was strongly inhibited by 1,10-phenanthroline, suggesting that the enzyme is
a metalloprotease. The N-terminal amino acid sequence was Ser-Leu-Asn-Gly-Lys-Thr-Asn-Gly-Trp-Asp-Ser-Val-Asn-Asp-Leu-Leu-Asn-Tyr-His-Asn-Arg-Gly-Asn
(or Asp)-Gly-Thr-Ile-Asn-Asn-Lys-Pro-Ser-Phe-Asp-Ile-Ala. A search through databases for sequence homology aligned CP-58 protease
with metalloprotease. The result of the cleavage pattern of oxidized insulin B-chain suggests that CP-58 protease has a broader

Nano-sized aluminum nitride (AlN) powders can enhance the sinterability of AlN ceramics. The present work examined the pulverization and dispersion of AlN powder using ZrO2 beads of 0.1 mm in diameter as grinding medium in order to obtain nano-sized powder for low-temperature sintering. An attracting feature of the bead grinding is that the rotor creates centrifugal and shearing forces, which lead to efficient pulverization that exceeds the conventional grinding limit. The AlN powder with agglomerates and average particle size of 0.38 μm was broken up into more homogeneous particles with a narrow particle size distribution after 90 min of grinding. Qualitative examinations of the powder by transmission electron microscopy and BET indicated that the particle size was 50–100 nm and specific surface area was 70 m2 /g. 相似文献

In order to reduce the internal stress in a cured epoxy resin, the submicron polymer particles were dispersed therein prior to curing. For this purpose, four kinds of poly(butyl acrylate), poly(methyl methacrylate) core-shell particles were prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization for methyl methacrylate with poly(butyl acrylate) seed particles having different particle diameter, and subsequently were powdered by drying at room temperature. It was observed by SEM that poly(butyl acrylate) particles as core were dispersed in the cured epoxy matrix. Poly(methyl methacrylate) as shell seems to dissolve in the matrix. The well-dispersed silver nanoparticles were prepared in reactive methacrylate monomers under microwave irradiation without polymerization. In contrast to conventional heating, the synthesis of Ag nanoparticles proceeded uniformly throughout the reaction vessel only under microwave irradiation, reaching the completion of the reaction simultaneously in the whole reaction solution. We characterized the structure of the crystallographic domain of a (Pr0.7 Ca0.3 )MnO3 (PCMO ( x =0.3)) thin film epitaxially grown on a (001)SrTiO3 (STO) single-crystal substrate. We found that the domain structure exhibited an atomically smooth coherent interface with the STO substrate with no misfit dislocations. The crystallographic relationships between the domains and the substrate in their planes were interpreted to be PCMO ( x =0.3)[110][001]//STO[100][010] and PCMO ( x =0.3)[001][1-10]//STO[100][010]. The domain structure of PCMO ( x =0.3)[110][1-10]//STO[100][010] has less possibility of having the larger anisotropic strain energy found in a monoclinically distorted pseudo-cubic perovskite unit cell of PCMO ( x =0.3). This epitaxial growth structure is totally different from the previously reported PCMO ( x =0.5) epitaxial thin-film structure on STO substrate. The detergency properties of α-sulfonated fatty acid methyl esters (α-SFMe) were evaluated and compared to those of conventional
anionic surfactants by using a model heavy-duty detergent formulation. Several physicochemical properties of surfactants were
measured to investigate the effective factors on detergency. α-SFMe showed good detergency performance under various washing
conditions. These results were considered to correlate well with the good adsorption behavior on oils and dispersing capabilities
for particles, as well as with the good solubilization capacity. Solubilization behavior of α-SFMe is discussed in relation
to micelle properties. It is suggested that α-SFMe can form suitable micelles for solubilizing polar oils advantageously,
