The serious landslide phenomena manifested between St. George and St. Herene villages and affecting the main road on Kefallonia
Island are reported. The site investigation included four sampling boreholes and a series of slope stability analyses. The
data obtained provided further information on the geotechnical–geomechanical characteristics of the Neogene bedrock and assisted
in the determination of the causes of the instability. Measures are suggested to avoid a re-occurrence of such failures.

PPy was synthesised by oxidative chemical polymerisation using xylan, CMC and NFC as additives. Conducting nanocomposite films were cast from aqueous slurries using doped PPy particles, CMC and NFC as the conducting and reinforcing phase, respectively. NFC‐based composites had higher conductivity and lower mechanical properties than CMC‐based homologues. SEM analysis showed that in PPy/NFC composites, PPy and NFC were arranged in two entangled networks, whereas, in PPy/NFC composites, CMC formed a continuous matrix around PPy particles, thus limiting conductivity. Mechanical properties of nanocomposite films were interpreted as reflecting the presence of different structures when using NFC or CMC as reinforcing phase.
Laminar and blazed type holographic varied-line-spacing spherical gratings for use in a versatile soft x-ray flat-field spectrograph attached to an electron microscope are designed, fabricated, and evaluated. The absolute diffraction efficiencies of laminar (or blazed) master and replica gratings at 86.00° incidence evaluated by synchrotron radiation show over 5% (or 8%) in the 50-200 eV range with the maxima of 22% (or 26%-27%). Also the resolving power evaluated by a laser produced plasma source is in excess of 700 at the energy near the K emission spectrum of lithium (~55 eV) for all gratings. Moreover, the K emission spectrum of metallic Li with high spectral resolution is successfully observed with the spectrograph attached to a transmission electron microscope. 相似文献
