An experiment for showing some kind of artificial understanding

In this paper we design an experiment which can be depicted as a simple scenario, a very limited 'world'. In this world, there are an actor that can pursue a project and an observer that is keeping its eyes on the actor. We try to show in the experiment that the observer can to some degree understand the actor based on its knowledge and some metaphors, i.e. understand what the actor is doing and why. As the conclusion of this experiment, we try to show some features of 'understanding'. These are (1) that 'understanding' has to be based on some preliminary knowledge; (2) that 'understanding' is a process of incremental learning; (3) that, as for symbolic systems, some metaphors are necessary for mapping real entities into concepts in mind.     

德国联邦物理技术研究院(PTB)气体微流量计量评介

在真空技术应用中 ,高精度气体微流量计用于连续膨胀法校准系统压力的产生、漏孔漏率的测量以及真空泵抽速的测定。PTB先后研制了三代气体微流量计 ,第一代为手动型 ,第二代为半自动型 ,第三代为全自动型。本文详细介绍了PTB研制的气体微流量计的性能和特点 ,并介绍了气体微流量计在真空漏孔的漏率测量方面的应用。另外 ,还介绍了PTB最近研制的大气压力下漏孔漏率测量系统的性能和特点     

Study of the morphology and mechanical properties of polypropylene composites with silica or rice‐husk

The mechanical, morphological behavior and water absorption characteristics of polypropylene (PP) and silica, or PP and rice‐husk, composites have been studied. The silica used in this study as filler was a commercial type produced from soluble glass or rice husks. The compatibilizing effect of PP grafted with monomethyl itaconate (PP‐g‐MMI) and/or with vinyltriethoxysilane (PP‐g‐VTES) as polar monomers on the mechanical properties and water absorption was also investigated. In general, a high loading of the studied fillers in the polymer matrix increases the stiffness and the water absorption capacity. This effect is more noticeable in the tensile modulus of the PP/silica composite with PP‐g‐VTES as compatibilizer. However, the increase of the rice‐husk charge as a natural filler in the PP matrix decreases the stiffness, and in the presence of PP‐g‐MMI as compatibilizer in PP/rice‐husk, the tensile modulus and water absorption of the composite were improved. The better adhesion and phase continuity in the PP/silica and PP/rice‐husk composites with different compatibilizers was confirmed by the morphological study. 储运罐区计算机监测系统的开发与应用

储运罐区计算机监测系统是石化企业自动控制的薄弱环节。中国石油集团公司抚顺石油一厂使用ZYG-101型电子智能液位仪，以及使用FIX组态软件完成该系统的数据库组态、工艺流程显示、实时和历史趋势显示、报警和报表等处理过程，通过二次表的串行口与计算机进行通信，由计算机实时监测每个罐的各种重要参数。运行证明：该系统测量误差小，数据实时性好．易于存储及远程传送，较理想地达到储运罐区的自动检测功能。     

Preparation and characterization of cuprous iodide nanoparticles

A new technique for the preparation of CuI nanoparticles from CuSO₄ and KI ethanol solutions has been developed. Preparation conditions were optimized through a series of experiments. Under these conditions, the yield of CuI reached 95.39%. The product was characterized and the reaction kinetics was studied. The results show that the product takes a roughly spherical shape with an average particle size of less then 50 nm. The activation energy of the formation of CuI is found to be E _a = 0.58 × 10² kJ/mol, and the preexponential factor in the Arrhenius equation is k ₀ = 7.43 × 10¹⁶ mol/(l s). 催化裂化汽油脱硫助剂TS-01的工业试验

中国石油化工股份有限公司九江分公司在I套催化裂化装置进行了TS—0l催化裂化汽油脱硫双功能助剂的工业应用。结果表明：TS—0l剂对催化裂化汽油有较好的脱硫效果。当TS—0l剂注入原料中的量为70μg／g时，对催化裂化汽油的硫脱除率约为20％；注入量为120μg／g时，硫脱除率可达到25％-30％。汽油中脱除的硫主要以硫化氢形态转移至于气、液化气中。TS—01剂对产品分布及产品其它质量无明显影响，该剂亦有良好的金属钝化效果。     

Improving Cost Estimates of Construction Projects Using Phased Cost Factors

Central to cost-based competition is the capability to accurately predict the cost of delivering a project. Most literature on cost estimation focuses on specific estimation methods as generic techniques and little attention has been paid to the unique requirements at each project stage. This note attempts to identify the critical factors for effective estimation at various stages of typical construction projects. Drawing from organization control theory and cost estimating literature, this note develops a theoretical framework that identifies the critical factors for effective cost estimation during each project phase of a conventional construction project. The underlying logic is that as a cost estimating effort progresses, both task programmability and output measurability improve. As a result, control effort will shift from input-oriented control to a combination of output and behavior control.

High cycle fatigue of bolted connections Extensive tests regarding the influences on the fatigue of bolt‐nut‐connections of preloading with torsion, of preloading with yielding, of loading with superimposed bending and of the tested lot are processed. These influences are not yet known according to VDI 2230. New testing devices were designed for these tests, which allow a far less expensive operation and may easily be used for bolts of diameters up to M100 and testing frequencies up to 1000 Hz. The validity of fatigue resistance according to VDI 2230 is specified with respect to the test results. The determined influence of the tested lots is unexpectedly high. The manufacturing process of bolts should be improved to minimize this influence.
