We have deposited amorphous silicon (a-Si) and nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si) materials and the total p-i-n configurations for solar cells in a high vacuum multichamber system ASTER using very high frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (VHF PECVD) process. The deposition process is monitored and controlled by in-situ diagnostic tools to maintain reproducibility of the material quality. In this paper we show our recent results on single junction (amorphous silicon) and tandem (a-Si/nc-Si) cells on plastic foil using the Helianthos concept. The tandem cell efficiency on Asahi U-type SnO2:F coated glass is ~ 12% and this is achieved by employing nc-Si deposited at high pressure (p) conditions of 5 mbar and a small inter-electrode distance (d) of 5 mm. The deposition scheme of this cell on glass was adapted for the SnO2:F coated Al foil substrates from Helianthos b.v., especially taking into account the expansion of the foil during deposition. The inter-electrode distance d was one of the variables for this optimisation process. Depositions at four inter-electrode distances of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm (keeping the pressure-distance product constant) revealed that the deposition rate increases at higher distances, reaching 0.6 nm/s at a d of 10 mm and pressure p of 3.0 mbar. The Raman crystalline ratio showed a monotonic increase with the combination of higher d and lower p. Tandem cells with an area of 2.5 cm2 on plastic foil fabricated by the Helianthos concept and employing the above mentioned nc-Si made at 0.6 nm/s in the bottom cell and a-Si in the top cell, showed an efficiency of 8.12%, with a short circuit current density of 10 mA/cm2. The combined deposition time of the photoactive silicon layers of the top and bottom cells amounted to only 85 min. 相似文献

PbSe quantum-dot solids are of great interest for low cost and efficient photodetectors and solar cells. We have prepared PbSe quantum-dot solids with high charge carrier mobilities using layer-by-layer dip-coating with 1,2-ethanediamine as substitute capping ligands. Here we present a time and energy resolved transient absorption spectroscopy study on the kinetics of photogenerated charge carriers, focusing on 0-5 ps after photoexcitation. We compare the observed carrier kinetics to those for quantum dots in dispersion and show that the intraband carrier cooling is significantly faster in quantum-dot solids. In addition we find that carriers diffuse from higher to lower energy sites in the quantum-dot solid within several picoseconds. 相似文献

This study aims to provide a long term overview of developments in energy from biomass in Western Europe by analyzing the discourse in RD&D and related policy. To this end, the discourse in Western Europe between 1980 and 2010 has been studied by the literature study of open literature and articles of the European Biomass Conference. In addition, a quantitative content analysis of titles of the conference has been performed. This shows the dynamics with respect to considered feedstock, conversion technology, application as well as supporting arguments for this – a dynamics that will not show in a technology or country oriented study. We distinguish four different discourses based on differentiation to scale and knowledge intensity – but that also relates to feedstock and conversion technology. This way, the complex developments can be structured and understood as shift between and within discourses. This is especially relevant as each discourse involves a different policy arena and different actors. With a still growing interest in energy from biomass, the multiple discourses seem to keep co-existing. Emphasis continues to be given to large scale and knowledge intensive processes, which will further increase the importance of the supra-national level for future developments. 相似文献

Here we present the rational design and synthetic methodologies towards proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs) for the recently-emerged target leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2). Two highly potent, selective, brain-penetrating kinase inhibitors were selected, and their structure was appropriately modified to assemble a cereblon-targeting PROTAC. Biological data show strong kinase inhibition and the ability of the synthesized compounds to enter the cells. However, data regarding the degradation of the target protein are inconclusive. Designing a mood board is a creative tool designers often employ at the start of a new (interior) design project. The colors of a mood board represent important information about the envisioned interior designs. In this article, we focus on digital mood boards and we propose a novel method to determine the mood boards' key colors from a design perspective using dE-means color clustering. This proposed algorithm includes a fixed initialization to overcome the non-deterministic nature of traditional k-means, and a merging step to ensure all colors in the calculated palette are at least a dE-threshold apart. Quantitative and qualitative results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods in determining the key colors from a design perspective. Additionally, we introduce a novel method to visualize the calculated color palettes that takes into account the contribution of individual pixels to the construction of the calculated color palettes. Finally, we demonstrate how the proposed algorithm can be used to characterize color palettes for various design styles like modern, industrial and art deco. 相似文献

Polymer LEDs have a number of attractive properties that make them suitable for many applications. Operating at low voltage, bright large-area devices can be made by simple technology. One of the limitations that prohibited industrialization of polymer LEDs was their limited lifetime. An overview of the improvement of polymer LED performance at Philips is presented. The progress during the last year is reflected by lifetimes of many thousands of hours for 8 cm2 devices that operate at daylight visibility under ambient conditions. Diagnostic measurements have been performed on polymer LEDs before and after stress testing, and on the materials used in these devices. These measurements have contributed to the understanding of the nature of the degradation of polymer LEDs. 相似文献

In order to investigate the deep structure of Gaussian scale space images, one needs to understand the behaviour of spatial critical points under the influence of blurring. We show how the mathematical framework of catastrophe theory can be used to describe and model the behaviour of critical point trajectories when various different types of generic events, viz. annihilations and creations of pairs of spatial critical points, (almost) coincide. Although such events are non-generic in mathematical sense, they are not unlikely to be encountered in practice due to numerical limitations. Furthermore, the behaviour of these trajectories leads to the observation that fine-to-coarse tracking of critical points doesn't suffice, since they can form closed loops in scale space. The modelling of the trajectories include these loops. We apply the theory to an artificial image and a simulated MR image and show the occurrence of the described behaviour. 相似文献

The three-dimensional (3D) flow due to AC electroosmotic (ACEO) forcing on an array of interdigitated symmetric electrodes in micro-channels is experimentally analyzed using astigmatism micro-particle tracking velocimetry (astigmatism μ-PTV). Upon application of the AC electric field with a frequency of 1,000 Hz and a voltage of 2 Volts peak–peak, the obtained 3D particle trajectories exhibit a vortical structure of ACEO flow above the electrodes. Two alternating time delays (0.03 and 0.37 s) were used to measure the flow field with a wide range of velocities, including error analysis. Presence and properties of the vortical flow were quantified. The steady nature and the quasi-2D character of the vortices can combine the results from a series of measurements into one dense data set. This facilitates accurate evaluation of the velocity field by data-processing methods. The primary circulation of the vortices due to ACEO forcing is given in terms of the spanwise component of vorticity. The outline of the vortex boundary is determined via the eigenvalues of the strain-rate tensor. Overall, astigmatism μ-PTV is proven to be a reliable tool for quantitative analysis of ACEO flow. 相似文献
