Even chain sodium alkanesulfonates from the Strecker reaction, odd chain sodium alkanesulfonates from the alkaline decarboxylation
of α-sulfo acids, and sodium 1-hydroxy-2-alkanesulfonates from the reduction of esters of α-sulfo acids were compared with
respect to Krafft point, critical micelle concentration, detergency and foam height. Sodium alkanesulfonates and crude fusion
products from the α-sulfo acids (mixtures of alkanesulfonates of one less carbon atom with a lesser amount of a soap of two
less carbon atoms) are more soluble and have better detergent and foaming properties. Sodium 1-hydroxy-2-alkanesulfonates
resemble monosodium salts of α-sulfo acids.
Alkanesulfonic acids and 1-hydroxy-2-alkane-sulfonic acids obtained from the sodium salts by ion exchange have lower Krafft
points and are more readily soluble. The critical micelle concentrations of 1-hydroxy-2-alkanesulfonic acids and α-sulfo acids
are nearly the same and about equal to those of alkanesulfonic acids of one less carbon atom.

A new color scale was developed from a broad data set of 1700 virgin olive oil samples over four crop seasons, which can be
considered highly representative of the whole color range of virgin olive oils available in Spain. This color scale provides
a new set of 60 color standards, improving the results achieved by the old 60-color standards proposed by the bromthymol blue
method. Seeking the greatest possibility of including a near match between colors of virgin olive oils and proposed standards,
we developed our new color scale using a recent uniform color space, with standards placed in a regular rhombohedral lattice
like the one employed by the Uniform Color Scales of the Optical Society of America. The average color difference between
each of the 1700 virgin olive oils and its nearest standard is reduced from 8.17 CIELAB units, using the bromthymol blue standards,
to 3.99 CIELAB units using the new standards. Within a color tolerance of 7.0 CIELAB units, 93.2% of our virgin olive oils
can be classified with the new standards, but only 59.1% with the bromthymol blue ones. In the interest of future adoption,

Variable quantities of leaves were added to ripe olives prior to extraction to determine their effect on the quality of the

Different theoretical and experimental aspects of freeze drying of dairy biomaterials are reported. The following dairy biomaterials were chosen for investigations: three kefir bacterial cultures and one bacterial concentrate of a dairy vaccine. Experiments were performed both at one-region conductive or radiative heating and at combined two-region conductive-radiative heating. Emphasis was put on quality interactions between physical and biological properties of the material to be dried and freeze drying process parameters. Qualitative estimations of the following properties of biomaterials: a) colour, b)suppleness to caking and c) suppleness to scraping born the hot surface in dependence with the process parameters were performed using four-step subjective scales. On the basis of this estimations a synthetic quality criterion SQC was defined whose numerical value reflects general product quality. The results of mathematical modelling, numerical solution of the model and comparison with experimental data indicated that the process was heat transfer controlled and that the main factors resulting in good product quality and high SQC are low temperature of the conductive heated surface and vacuum chamber pressure affecting sublimation temperature. The influence of the sample freezing parameters on the elimination of the foaming or puffing and on the product quality was observed and examined. Numerical and approximate analytical solutions for salt concentration polarization in hyperfiltration with laminar flow in a flat sheet configuration are presented. The analysis accounts for the variation of the water flux in the longitudinal direction. Approximate solutions were obtained with an integral method which was found to provide good agreement with the numerical solution. The integral method allows one to obtain closed expressions for the productivity Q, the recovery R and the efficiency E of a reverse osmosis system which can be applied relatively quickly in design calculations.In this analysis the physical properties of the solution are taken to be constant. 相似文献

Monofilament fibers were spun continuously from the free surface of a pool of molten poly(ethylene terephthalate) without the aid of a spinneret. For take-up velocities in the range of 12 to 400 ft/min, the denier of the filaments produced was an inverse power function of take-up velocity, and the birefringence was an inverse power function of the filament diameter. Production rate and product uniformity were strongly dependent on take-up velocity and surface temperature of the melt pool. 相似文献
