This paper describes the application of a multilayer cellular neural network (CNN) to model and solve the time dependent one-speed neutron transport equation in slab geometry. We use a neutron angular flux in terms of the Chebyshev polynomials (TN) of the first kind and then we attempt to implement the equations in an equivalent electrical circuit. We apply this equivalent circuit to analyze the TN moments equation in a uniform finite slab using Marshak type vacuum boundary condition. The validity of the CNN results is evaluated with numerical solution of the steady state TN moments equations by MATLAB. Steady state, as well as transient simulations, shows a very good comparison between the two methods. We used our CNN model to simulate space–time response of total flux and its moments for various c (where c is the mean number of secondary neutrons per collision).  相似文献

In the present investigation, Cr3C2-NiCr cermet coatings were deposited on two Ni-based superalloys, namely superni 75, superni 718 and one Fe-based superalloy superfer 800H by detonation-gun thermal spray process. The cyclic hot-corrosion studies were conducted on uncoated as well as D-gun coated superalloys in the presence of mixture of 75 wt.% Na2SO4 + 25 wt.% K2SO4 film at 900 °C for 100 cycles. Thermogravimetric technique was used to establish the kinetics of hot corrosion of uncoated and coated superalloys. X-ray diffraction, FE-SEM/EDAX and X-ray mapping techniques were used to analyze the corrosion products for rendering an insight into the corrosion mechanisms. It was observed that Cr3C2-NiCr-coated superalloys showed better hot-corrosion resistance than the uncoated superalloys in the presence of 75 wt.% Na2SO4 + 25 wt.% K2SO4 film as a result of the formation of continuous and protective oxides of chromium, nickel and their spinel, as evident from the XRD analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, a hybrid optimization algorithm is proposed for modeling and managing the micro grid (MG) system. The management of distributed energy sources with MG is a multi-objective problem which consists of wind turbine (WT), photovoltaic (PV) array, fuel cell (FC), micro turbine (MT) and diesel generator (DG). Because, perfect economic model of energy source of the MG units are needed to describe the operating cost of the output power generated, the objective of the hybrid model is to minimize the fuel cost of the MG sources such as FC, MT and DG. The problem formulation takes into consideration the optimal configuration of the MG at a minimum fuel cost, operation and maintenance costs as well as emissions reduction. Here, the hybrid algorithm is obtained as artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, which is used in two stages. The first stage of the ABC gets the optimal MG configuration at a minimum fuel cost for the required load demand. From the minimized fuel cost functions, the operation and maintenance cost as well as the emission is reduced using the second stage of the ABC. The proposed method is implemented in the Matlab/Simulink platform and its effectiveness is analyzed by comparing with existing techniques. The comparison demonstrates the superiority of the proposed approach and confirms its potential to solve the problem.  相似文献

Because of its versatility, cost effectiveness, and ability to produce intricate shapes to tight specifications, the injection molding process is widely used in plastics processing. Mold cavity pressure plays an important role in determining the quality of the molded articles. The dynamic behavior and control of cavity pressure were studied for the filling and packing phases. The dynamics of cavity pressure during filling were investigated and found to be both nonlinear and time-varying in relation to the hydraulic servo-valve opening, which is the manipulated variable. A self-tuning control system was designed and tested for a wide range of conditions. The transition from filling to packing was best detected by the change in the derivative of cavity pressure. The dynamics of cavity pressure during packing were studied and modeled similarly as for filling. The self-tuning technique was successfully extended and implemented in the packing phase.  相似文献

An optical sensor has been developed which can measure the thickness profile of the parison on line just prior to its enclosure in the mold. The device determines thickness by striking the parison at an angle with a laser beam and measuring the separation between the beams that are reflected from the outer and inner surfaces of the parison wall. A prototype was built and tested. The prototype uses three lasers at different angles and can make up to 250 point measurements during a one second scan. A personal computer uses specially developed software to reconstruct the profile of the parison wall from the raw data with an accuracy of ±5%.  相似文献

The transient process of solidification of laminar liquid flow (water) submitted to super-cooling was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. In this study an alternative analytical formulation and numerical approach were adopted resulting in the unsteady model with temperature dependent thermophysical properties in the solid region. The proposed model is based upon the fundamental equations of energy balance in the solid and liquid regions as well as across the solidification front. The basic equations and the associated boundary and initial conditions were made dimensionless by using the Landau transformation to immobilize the moving front and render the problem to a fixed plane type problem. A laminar velocity profile is admitted in the liquid domain and the resulting equations were discretized using the finite difference approach. The numerical predictions obtained were compared with the available results based on other models and concepts such as Neumann analytical model, the apparent thermal capacity model due to Bonacina and the conventional fixed grid energy model due to Goodrich. To obtain further comparisons and more validation of the model and the numerical solution, an experimental rig was constructed and instrumented permitting very well controlled experimental measurements. The numerical predictions were compared with the experimental results and the agreement was found satisfactory.  相似文献

The effects of α‐, γ‐ and δ‐tocopherols on the stability and decomposition reactions of lipid hydroperoxides were studied. Isomerization and decomposition of cis,trans methyl linoleate hydroperoxides (cis,trans ML‐OOH) in hexadecane at 40 °C were followed by high‐performance liquid chromatography. Due to its higher hydrogen donating ability, α‐tocopherol was more efficient than γ‐ and δ‐tocopherols in inhibiting the isomerization of cis,trans ML‐OOH to trans,trans ML‐OOH. α‐Tocopherol stabilized hydroperoxides into the cis,trans configuration, whereas γ‐ and δ‐tocopherols allowed hydroperoxides to convert into trans,trans isomers. Thus, the biological importance of α‐tocopherol as compared to other tocopherols may be partly due to its better efficacy in protecting the cis,trans configuration of hydroperoxides formed, for example, in the enzymatic oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The isomeric configuration of hydroperoxides has an impact on biological activities of further oxidation products of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Paradoxically, the order of activity of tocopherols with regard to hydroperoxide decomposition was different from that obtained for hydroperoxide isomerization. γ‐ and δ‐tocopherols were more efficient inhibitors of ML‐OOH decomposition when compared to α‐tocopherol. A loss of antioxidant efficiency, observed as the tocopherol concentration increased from 2 to 20 mM, was highest for α‐tocopherol but was also evident for γ‐ and δ‐tocopherols. Thus, the differences in the relative effects of tocopherols at differing concentrations seem to result from a compromise between their radical scavenging efficiency and participation in side reactions of peroxidizing nature.  相似文献

Smaller oligomeric chaperones of α-crystallins (αA- and αB-) have received increasing attention due to their improved therapeutic potential in preventing protein aggregating diseases. Our previous study suggested that deleting 54–61 residues from the N-terminal domain (NTD) of αB-crystallin (αBΔ54–61) decreases the oligomer size and increases the chaperone function. Several studies have also suggested that NTD plays a significant role in protein oligomerization and chaperone function. The current study was undertaken to assess the effect of deleting conserved 21–28 residues from the activated αBΔ54–61 (to get αBΔ21–28, Δ54–61) on the structure–function of recombinant αBΔ21–28, Δ54–61. The αBΔ21–28, Δ54–61 mutant shows an 80% reduction in oligomer size and 3- to 25-fold increases in chaperone activity against model substrates when compared to αB-WT. Additionally, the αB∆21–28, ∆54–61 was found to prevent β-amyloid (Aβ1–42) fibril formation in vitro and suppressed Aβ1–42-induced cytotoxicity in ARPE-19 cells in a more effective manner than seen with αB-WT or αB∆54–61. Cytotoxicity and reactive oxygen species (ROS) detection studies with sodium iodate (SI) showed that the double mutant protein has higher anti-apoptotic and anti-oxidative activities than the wild-type or αB∆54–61 in oxidatively stressed cells. Our study shows that the residues 21–28 and 54–61 in αB-crystallin contribute to the oligomerization and modulate chaperone function. The deletion of conserved 21–28 residues further potentiates the activated αBΔ54–61. We propose that increased substrate affinity, altered subunit structure, and assembly leading to smaller oligomers could be the causative factors for the increased chaperone activity of αBΔ21–28, Δ54–61.  相似文献

Oxygen and water vapor permeability studies were carried out on binary polyethylene/polyamide immiscible blends incorporating three polyethylene resins (LDPE, LLDPE, and HDsPE), and three polyamide resins (PA-6, PA-6,6, and modified PA-6,6m). It was found that the incorporation of PA into PE reduces the oxygen permeability while water vapor permeability is increased. In the range of 0 to 30 weight percent of PA, the oxygen permeability of PE was reduced by a factor of 2.8 to 3.6. Maximum water vapor permeabilities increased: for HDPE by a factor of about 2.6 to 3.1 and for LDPE and LLDPE blends by about 1.6.  相似文献
