In this paper, a circular economy approach with the adsorption and desorption of heavy metal (HM) ions—i.e., lead (Pb2+), chromium (CrT), and mercury (Hg2+)—from aqueous solutions was studied. Specific and selective binding of HM ions was performed on stabilized and amino-functionalized iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles (γ-Fe2O3@NH2 NPs) from an aqueous solution at pH 4 and 7. For this purpose, γ-Fe2O3@NH2 NPs were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), specific surface area (BET), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), EDXS, and zeta potential measurements (ζ). The effects of different adsorbent amounts (mads = 20/45/90 mg) and the type of anions (NO3−, Cl−, SO42−) on adsorption efficiency were also tested. The desorption was performed with 0.1 M HNO3. The results showed improvement of adsorption efficiency for CrT, Pb2+, and Hg2+ ions at pH 7 by 45 mg of g-Fe2O3@NH2 NPs, and the sequence was as follows: CrT > Hg2+ > Pb2+, with adsorption capacities of 90.4 mg/g, 85.6 mg/g, and 83.6 mg/g, respectively. The desorption results showed the possibility for the reuse of γ-Fe2O3@NH2 NPs with HNO3, as the desorption efficiency was 100% for Hg2+ ions, 96.7% for CrT, and 91.3% for Pb2+. 相似文献

Syntheses of 6-halogen-substituted benzothiazoles were performed by condensation of 4-hydroxybenzaldehydes and 2-aminotiophenoles and subsequent O-alkylation with appropriate halides, whereas 6-amidino-substituted benzothiazoles were synthesized by condensation of 5-amidino-2-aminothiophenoles and corresponding benzaldehydes. While most of the compounds from non-substituted and halogen-substituted benzothiazole series showed marginal antiproliferative activity on tested tumor cell lines, amidino benzazoles exhibited stronger inhibitory activity. Generally, imidazolyl benzothiazoles showed pronounced and nonselective activity, with the exception of 36c which had a strong inhibitory effect on HuT78 cells (IC50 = 1.6 µM) without adverse cytotoxicity on normal BJ cells (IC50 >100 µM). Compared to benzothiazoles, benzimidazole structural analogs 45a–45c and 46c containing the 1,2,3-triazole ring exhibited pronounced and selective antiproliferative activity against HuT78 cells with IC50 < 10 µM. Moreover, compounds 45c and 46c containing the methoxy group at the phenoxy unit were not toxic to normal BJ cells. Of all the tested compounds, benzimidazole 45a with the unsubstituted phenoxy central core showed the most pronounced cell growth inhibition on THP1 cells in the nanomolar range (IC50 = 0.8 µM; SI = 70). QSAR models of antiproliferative activity for benzazoles on T-cell lymphoma (HuT78) and non-tumor MDCK-1 cells elucidated the effects of the substituents at position 6 of benzazoles, demonstrating their dependence on the topological and spatial distribution of atomic mass, polarizability, and van der Waals volumes. A notable cell cycle perturbation with higher accumulation of cells in the G2/M phase, and a significant cell increase in subG0/G1 phase were found in HuT78 cells treated with 36c, 42c, 45a–45c and 46c. Apoptotic morphological changes, an externalization of phosphatidylserine, and changes in the mitochondrial membrane potential of treated cells were observed as well. 相似文献

Infantile hemangioma (IH) is the most common infantile tumor, affecting 5–10% of newborns. Propranolol, a nonselective β-adrenergic receptor (ADRB) antagonist, is currently the first-line treatment for severe IH; however, both its mechanism of action and its main cellular target remain poorly understood. Since betablockers can antagonize the effect of natural ADRB agonists, we postulated that the catecholamine produced in situ in IH may have a role in the propranolol response. By quantifying catecholamines in the IH tissues, we found a higher amount of noradrenaline (NA) in untreated proliferative IHs than in involuted IHs or propranolol-treated IHs. We further found that the first three enzymes of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway are expressed by IH cells and that their levels are reduced in propranolol-treated tumors. To study the role of NA in the pathophysiology of IH and its response to propranolol, we performed an in vitro angiogenesis assay in which IH-derived endothelial cells, pericytes and/or telocytes were incorporated. The results showed that the total tube formation is sensitive to propranolol only when exogenous NA is added in the three-cell model. We conclude that the IH’s sensitivity to propranolol depends on crosstalk between the endothelial cells, pericytes and telocytes in the context of a high local amount of local NA. 相似文献

The aim of this work was to develop and validate static headspace gas chromatography with flame ionization detection method for determination of five aldehydes selected as markers for lipid oxidation, present in freshly baked and stored crackers with high fat content. Chromatographic conditions defined in this method allow the separation of propanal, pentanal, hexanal, heptanal and octanal within 15 min. Relative standard deviations (RSD) of the retention times for repeatability and intermediate precision for all compounds were less than 1.75 and 0.22 %, respectively. For the obtained peak areas, RSD for repeatability and intermediate precision were less than 3.86 and 4.32 %, respectively. Recovery was within the range of 60–99 %. Each analyte showed an excellent linear behaviour over the set concentration range, with correlation coefficient (R 2 ) values above 0.99. Limits of quantification for propanal, pentanal, hexanal, heptanal and octanal were 0.10, 0.05, 0.08, 0.02 and 0.02 μg, respectively. The proposed method accomplishes the requirements for the method selectivity, precision, sensitivity, accuracy and linearity needed for determination of aldehydes in bakery products. Quantification of aldehydes was achieved for both freshly baked and stored crackers over a long period of time. 相似文献

The content of tocopherols, B vitamins, as well as free soluble, soluble conjugated and insoluble bound phenolic compounds was determined in untreated, steeped and sprouted wheat grains. Antioxidant capacity of whole wheat grains and their phenolic fractions was also evaluated. Sprouting significantly increased the levels of tocopherols, niacin, riboflavin, as well as free and bound phenolic compounds improving nutritional value and antioxidant capacity of wheat grains/flour. After sprouting for 5 days, the content of total phenolics, flavonoids and ferulic acid calculated as the sum of its fractions was increased by 9.9, 30.7 and 21.6%, respectively. The content of α‐, β+γ‐ and δ‐tocopherols was increased for 3.59‐fold, 2.33‐fold and 2.61‐fold respectively, while the content of niacin, as predominant B vitamin, was increased for 1.19‐fold after sprouting. The total antioxidant capacity of untreated, steeped and sprouted whole wheat grains was 19.44, 20.37 and 22.70 mmol Trolox Eq/kg, respectively. Sprouted wheat, as a rich source of bioavailable phytochemicals, should be used to improve the nutritional quality of food. 相似文献

Measurements of the liquid–solid mass transfer coefficient kS were performed in a three-phase multiple impeller and stationary catalytic basket reactor, called a Robinson–Mahoney reactor. Local coefficients were determined using naphtol particle dissolution in water and n-heptane with or without gas flow. Experiments have shown that local coefficients kS loc depend on the particle position in the basket, agitation speed, and liquid properties. A correlation linking kS to liquid velocity was established in a reactor simulating hydrodynamics in a piece of catalytic basket. The present study investigates the influence of partial cement substitution with biomass ash on the corrosion behaviour of steel embedded in the mortar. To evaluate this influence, corrosion parameters of steel in mortar exposed to tap water and 3.5 wt% NaCl solution were monitored over a period of 50 days. The electrochemical cell consisted of a steel plate as a working electrode, covered with a layer of mortar that was exposed to the testing solution. Open-circuit potential and linear polarisation were used to monitor changes in corrosion behaviour, whereas electrical impedance spectroscopy was used to evaluate the conductivity of the matrix. Additional to corrosion parameters, the chloride migration coefficient was tested after 28 days. On the basis of the results, it was observed that mortars with biomass ash provide equal or better protection for embedded steel, compared with the reference mortar. Mortars that performed slightly better than the reference mortar and other mortars were prepared with ashes with a higher amount of pozzolanic oxides. 相似文献

In this paper some physicochemical and textural characteristics of four puff pastry margarines are defined: MLT1 and MLT2 with low trans fatty acid (TFA) content, MLT3 with relatively low and MLT4 with high TFA content. Analyzing the solid trigliceride content (SFC), the crystallization kinetics in isothermal conditions and the margarine firmness, it is determined whether the technological characteristics of margarines (which are very important for puff pastry quality) are significantly changed due to TFA decrease in margarines. The highest SFC at 10, 20, 25 i 30°C have samples MLT1 and MLT4. Despite of significant differences in fatty acid composition of these margarines, SFC content at temperatures at 20, 25, and 30°C do not differ significantly, at the level of significance of 95% (p>0.05). The SFC of MLT1 and MLT2 samples, which have practically the same fatty acid composition at every investigated temperature, statistically have significant difference (p<0.05). The crystallization kinetics are in the range from 2.6 to 10.1% per min. The significance of the induction period at every observed samples is negligible. The average firmness of margarine samples MLT1, MLT2, MLT3, and MLT4 at 20, 25, and 30°C is significantly different (p<0.05). The firmness changes of the samples MLT1 and MLT2 in the most important temperature interval for puff pastry production (between 20 and 30°C) are at level of 5 to 25%, and for margarine samples MLT3 and MLT4 these values reach even 70%. 相似文献
